  1. Yea, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact, that President Obama, wrote an autobiography while in Harvard for Acton & Dystel, in which he states that he was born in Kenya, this was written in 1991, was never corrected until he decided to run for President. over 12 years later.
  2. IMO, this is not taught directly in the Bible, but it is indirectly taught. For Paul writes that we are saved from wrath: 8) But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9) Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:8-9 From the above verse, we see that we are saved from God's Wrath; if we are saved from God's wrath, it is evident from the above verse that Jesus Christ took God's wrath on Himself, or as Shiloh stated judgment, so that we could be justify by Christ's blood. Paul even make mention of this later to encourage us: 31) What shall we said to thee things? If God be for us, who can be against us? 32) He that spared not His Own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Romans 8:31-32 For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Hebrews 12:3 Because God the Father hates sin so much, He had to have the most excellent sacrifice to do away with our wickedness, and Jesus Christ while taking our sins upon Himself, felt God's Wrath, for the believers shortcomings in the manner of the law, I Thessalonians 5:9. For the first advent of Christ, He took our sin problem away, so that He took God's wrath for us; but the second advent, He will come with salvation for the believers: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for Him He will appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:28 But woe, to those who don't know Christ, II Thessalonians 1:7-10
  3. I think the main reason that President Barack Obama, became our President is Oprah Winfrey. When she came out and supported him, her backing made him unbeatable, over here in USA, I never voted for the man. Neither do I support a lot of his views, but he is still my President, and along as what he does, doesn't conflict with the Bible I will support him.
  4. IMO, I would have to say that while both parties are at fault, that Adam takes the bigger blame in this situation. For at least I see that Eve seemed to be telling the serpent, what God commanded them, while if we look carefully at the story we see that Adam just sat back and watch the whole event. And when the woman, saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Genesis 3:6 For we see that Eve gave to Adam who was with her. Adam, it seems had a chance to man up, and didn't. But both man and woman play the blame game. Adam blamed God for giving the woman, and woman blamed the serpent. IMO this is one of the many proofs that women often have better spiritual eyes than us men. Adam the first of the male sex, wanted to blame God, sorry to say for us guys, that is just plain stupid. At least Eve as the first woman, knew to blame the serpent, and not God.
  5. Did paul forgive Ananias and Sapphira No, because Paul had nothing to do with Ananias and Sapphira. Did paul forgive Ananias and Sapphira What difference does it make if Paul forgave them or not? They did not seek forgiveness, since they planed on lying to them about the money they kept. The point about them is, they lies to the Holy Spirit. Exactly, Peter was only pronouncing the judgment of God, upon Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:1-11. These two conspired together to lie to God, and hold back money which they had vow to God and the poor, and never once did they think of confessing their sins, I John 1:7; 1:9. We even see that Sapphira when confronted by Peter about the lie just try to cover it up, Acts 5:8-9. But before you go thinking that God wouldn't forgive them, the way the word read Ananias heart was filled by satan, see Acts 5:3; so yes God could and would have forgiven them both but it sounds like satan may have been their master, not the Lord Jesus.
  6. Amen, Mswright. I was kinda thinking along this line that the priest, was Jesus the High Priest, and the women was the church who is the bride of Christ. IMO, Hamelcat what you were dreaming of, in your repenting was coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, the Priest was Christ the High Priest, and the woman was the Church. When one accept Christ as Savior you are adopted into the Family of God. My deepest apologizes, Dan has I called you by the wrong name, truly sorry for that mistake.
  7. Don't ask them to pray for forgiveness, it is the last thing they want to hear in their state. Teach them that they have already been forgiven by the Blood, and teach them to pray for Jesus to heal them, that His will be done in their lives. Their illness (been there, done that), may not be anything to do with having to be forgiven. Excellent advice Fez. Amen. Love them, show them love . In everything you do, let the love shine from your every word and action. I second that Amen.

  9. Sounds like the right diagnosis. And clearly you have more awareness of these things than most. What you need to do is to take dominion over the premises in the name of Christ. Preferably, bring in someone with experience with such matters, and go room to room, praying in the authority of the name of Christ, that any spirits not of Him must depart. These prayers must call upon the Lord in true faith, nothing doubting, which is why it is helpful to have someone with experience in these things take the lead. I completely agree with William, on this, but am wondering if possibly the previous or one of previous owners of the house may have been involve in the occult?
  10. No, because God never withholds forgiveness, unless we first don't forgive others. As Kwik-Philly noted God forgive us if we forgive others; but if you don't want God's forgiveness, just hold a grudge against someone. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will the Father forgive you trespasses. Matthew 6:15 God never withholds forgiveness, but we as believers have a tendency to block His forgiveness with our petty angry against others. I know many will say you don't know the evil this person has done to me, and you are right, but if you are like me, it doesn't matter. Remember we as Christians have been given the Holy Spirit that make us (our body) the Temple of the Holy Ghost see I Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20, this is such a great honor no words can express our gratitude, yet myself and I dare say many if not all believers have a bad habit of dishonoring that Temple in so many ways, how after all my failures can God still love and care for me, yet He does, and all i am asked is to forgive others, as much as I've missed up, this with the help of the Holy Spirit is no problem, but we need the Holy Spirit to help us forgive.
  11. As Christians are made righteous in Christ, II Corinthians 5:21; and we have peace thru Christ, Romans 5:1; IMO we as believers still have the tendency to be disobedient to God the Father, and as such we are often discipline, or chastise, Hebrews 12:5-11 by God. We should take honor (such honor I surely do not want) in the fact that God treats us like His children and not as bastards as the KJV states in Hebrews 12:8. But what does this chastening bring forth, the following: Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Hebrews 12:11 So what is the harvest, it is enduring which patience under the chastening hand of our God who gives us a spiritual spanking when we get out of line or we are just plain disobedient to HIs command, and afterwards we get right and do as He commands us. So that after this time of disobedience we will have the harvest of a great relationship with the Father thru Jesus Christ. We also see that James speaks of the law of liberty, James 1:25; 2:12; Paul even speaks of this: 13) For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not your liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14) For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. 15) But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. Galatians 5:13-15 So from Paul's writing we see that with this peace from the fruit of righteousness comes unity, but without as the underline verse says in so many words division, consuming one another. I would gander over to Psalms 133, to see what this unity brings in blessing is check out the last sentence of Psalms 133:3
  12. King Jehoshaphat, and the nation of Judah, had three great armies, coming to destroy them, in II Chronicles 20. Jehoshaphat being a very godly king, immediately when to the House of God, II Chronicles 20:5-13, and prayed. The answered came that the children of Judah, where not to be afraid or dismay, but realize that the battle was the Lord's, II Chronicles 20:15. God even tells them to be still, they didn't need to fight at all, for the Lord was with them: Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah, and Jerusalem, fear not nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them; for the LORD will be with you. II Chronicles 20:17 When one know Jesus Christ as Savior the battle is no longer ours for God has won the battle/war for us, just as He had done for King Jehoshaphat, when God say be still, He stating just stand back and watch My Mighty Hand deliver you from your trouble, but being still can sometimes mean to sing joyfully as in the case with King Jehoshaphat, II Chronicles 20:21-22; but at other times to keep quiet and listen carefully for the still small voice of God, I King 19:11-13. Usually in the middle of a great spiritual battle we truly need to be praising our God greatly. But in a lot of cases after the victory, we need to be quiet and listen carefully for God's direction. For Jehoshaphat and Judah where in the middle of a great battle praising God; but Elijah, had just had a great victory overcoming Jezebel and the 450 false prophets, and after Jezebel threatened to kill him, he started to feel sorry for himself (boy do I know that feeling) so God had to get Elijah attention back on Him. So IMO if in the middle of a battle being still is to praise God greatly for His upcoming deliverance, but if God has given me the victory it is time for me to carefully start to quietly seek Him. So to be still could mean to wait, while praising God greatly or to wait in silence as God reveals His Awesome Power to save.
  13. It is true that we as Christians are not saved by our own good works, Ephesians 2:8-9; but we are told in Ephesians 2:10, that after being saved we are His (God's) workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, these are not per say our good works, but the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives. This is why James speaks of faith without works being dead, James 2:17, 26. So if one truly trust Jesus Christ as their Savior, the Holy Spirit will produce His work or fruit in your life. You are not saved by this' but it is a true sign of your living faith.
  14. grammar police, with my pour emucation, tell I it ain't so? mesha thinks, oh yeah me is in trouble.
  15. sNOw, no I don't usually mind snow, but since we live on the side of the street were all the snow blows, our 10-12 inches, was about twice that much on our side of the street, and half that on the other side. I really pray to God, the next snowstorm the wind blows in the other direction.
  16. Edwin, I would have to agree with these two virtuous women. IMO Hebrews 2 and 12 dealt with your first question. And just as Willa, and Kwik stated it was what Jesus did for us sinners. 1) Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run we patience the race that is set before us, 2) Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; Who for the joy that set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of God. 3) For consider Him that endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Hebrews 12:1-3 We see in Hebrews 12:2 that Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith, how for joy He endured the shame, despising it that is the cross; but did our Precious Savior despise the fact of physical death, perhaps, but I think the following verse tells us what our Savior God despised greatly. Jesus Christ who never one knew sin, and Who hated sin, became sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him, II Corinthians 5:21. For according to Hebrews 12:3, He endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself; that is Christ who is sinless suffered as a sinner, for those of us (every human ever) who have been held in bondage to sin and death. The writer of Hebrews in the last part of verse 3, comforts us with this thought so that we don't worry and faint in our minds. I would also advise reading Hebrews 2:9-18, to see how becoming Human, also emptied Christ, for in Hebrews 2:9 we see that Jesus was made lower than the angels, for this suffering. By doing this Jesus became our Savior, so we see Luke write: Neither is their salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12 Christ Jesus name is so High to God the Father because Jesus who was the Word, became flesh for us that we might have life, see John 1:1-14. One thing to remember from this passage in Philippians, Edwin is that every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, so next time the devil gives you troubles about your pass just remind him one day you will watch as he will have to bend his knees, and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,, oh that will be a glorious day.
  17. Perhaps it has something to do with what the writer of Hebrews states: 10) We have an altar, of which they have no right to eat who serve the tabernacle. 11) For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. 12) Wherefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His Own Blood, suffered without the gate. 13) Let us go forth therefore to Him without the camp, bearing His reproach. 14) For here we have no continuing city, but we seek one to come. 15) By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His Name. Hebrews 13:10-15 The writer of Hebrews states that Jesus suffered without the gate Hebrews 13:12, and we see in the following verse we as His followers are to bear His reproach, so that we don't seek earthly Jerusalem but the Heavenly Jerusalem; Hebrews 12:22-23. IMO this is why the Temple in Ezekiel is outside the City.
  18. We also see the story of Centurion in Luke 7:1-10, in which Luke tells us that the Elders of the Jews asked on behalf of the Centurion, for they told Jesus that he was worthy, Luke 7:3-5. It sounds like the Centurion, was a God-fearer that is someone who feared the God of Israel, but usually did not follow the OT Circumcision Ritual.
  19. I was blessed by the Lord with helping my parents out with Share or 2nd Harvest. But as you say Kwik, it was the Holy Spirit in me, especially while we were serving the workers food, and I had to watch in horror, as the few Snicker Doodles, we had for them when quickly, oh God forgive me I wanted so many Snicker Doodles for leftover to take home, but God in His mercy only allow me three. I LOVE Snicker Doodles. Later when I thought we were done, my sister voluntold, me for an extra chore, helping some people, carry heavy boxes. She told them, he (me) may be skinny but he is a lot stronger than he looks.
  20. 1John 5:7 and Matthew 28:19 are spurious. But don't take my word for it. Do a little research and find out for yourself. Ebaltrace, I John 5:7 is quoted nearly 100 years before the Oldest Greek Manuscript that we have left, around 250AD by Cyprian: ...And again it is written of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and these Three are One. Unity of the Church; Treaties I: section 6. The only difference is that Cyprian call Jesus Christ the Son and not the Word.
  21. I had a girl proposed to me twice, but the way she did it the first time, send warning flags. There were me 2 guys and her, while I was a few feet away from her, she proposed to me, I really did like and love her, but while she was proposing she was hanging on the arms of one of the other two guys. Later she called me on the phone and proposed to me again, but I still had the first time in my head, I have often wonder was I just to picky and missed my only chance?
  22. 3) For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine: but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4) And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. II Timothy 4:3-4 Paul speaks of this time coming when sound doctrine, will not be endure, and many will be lead away from the truth of Christ into what are just fables, being taught by many so called men of God. Paul even told Timothy of being..nourished up in the faith and of good doctrine...I Timothy 4:6. And reminds Timothy of his doctrine, II Timothy 3:10. So my thought is this, it is just a sign of a great apostasy that is happening today, for sound doctrine in the simplicity of Jesus Christ is much needed; II Corinthians 11:3; Galatians 3:1-5.
  23. Have you ever noticed that such responses like that tend to come from married people or people who are in a relationship? They have their blessing and somehow you wanting the same thing is seen as being dissatisfied with Jesus?? I have always been turned off by that as well, because it assumes that your desire for a spouse is almost seen as if you denying the sufficiency of Christ. God hardwired people to be relational. You shouldn't have to choose between a spouse and Jesus. No one else who is married every feels that they had to make that kind of choice and so I think it is rather condescending of them to suggest that your dissatisfaction with being single is somehow a reflection on your relationship with Christ. So yeah, I totally get the annoyance you mentioned. Thank you, Shiloh, for someone finally expressing how I feel. Don't think I have quit express it this way before even though I know it is how I felt, thought I would just come across as being way to cross. But it always has hurt deeply hearing married people giving me or other singles this type of answer. Wish I could give so many more reps, for the above post.
  24. Hi Dzyksis, you might be interested to know that the Apostle Paul along with I believe most if not all other Christians have this same struggle, the closer to God you get the worse it will probably get. 14) For we know that the law is spiritual: but i am carnal, sold under sin. 15) For that which I do, I allow not: for what I would, that I do not; but what I hate that I do. 16) If then I do that which I would not: I consent to the law that it is good. 17) Now it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18) For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good, I find not. 19) For the good that I would, I do not; but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20) Now if I do that which I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21) I find then a law, that when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22) For I delight in the law of God, after the inward man; 23) But I see another law in my members warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. Romans 7:14-23 In this passage Paul states that he is so sinful even though he delights to do the will of God, he fails miserably, his mind is set on the law of God, but his flesh wars against the mind and overcomes it, bringing about sin. Oh what hope is left for us, Paul closes this chapter with what should be every Christian means to praise God. 24) O wretched man that i am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25) I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Romans 7:24-25 Yes Paul states that with the mind we serve the law of Christ, but our flesh wars against our minds so that we do sin, but Praise God, through Jesus Christ our Lord even those our minds often give in to the flesh, because of His perfect sacrifice we have deliverance. This is why Jesus was asking so little of us when He told Peter we weren't to forgive our brother for sinning against us, just 7 times but 70 times 7, Matthew 18:21-22. 490 times sound like a lot to forgive others, but look to how often God has to practice lovingkindness thru His mercy and grace to us, and it is just a drop in the bucket. If I started keeping track of offenses against me by a brother or sister, and I get to 490, if I really want to be more like God I just need to restart another count of 490, remembering how thru Christ death and resurrection I have a lively hope who am so sinful yet striving to overcome sin.
