Ok my turn. I've read and read all day. I've listened and I've pondered...,I know you are all dying for me to weigh in so here's my thoughts...be they what they may.....at the end of the day I would love to make everything ok in the world....for everyone to appreciate differences in each other...to even love and embrace those differences....but at the end of the day the only person I have control over is me. Soooooo with that said my advice is that we ALL look in our mirrors every morning and make an active effort to make a difference. To strive every day to lighten someone else's burden. To be a better person. To be more Christ like in all we do. IF we do this every day I believe we will make a difference. I can't heal the hurts and wrongs that are going to take place but I know a God who can. I can't change the entire world but I can work and try and pray to make a difference in my little piece of reality. I don't pretend to say I will succeed everyday but I will make a difference to someone because I will make an effort. If we all make a difference in our little part of the world everyday we will be better people and our world will be better. One starfish at a time if you know the story. Change starts with us. Tonight I will spend more time in prayer and tomorrow I will look actively for a specific way to help make someone's load a little lighter and love someone a little harder. Well.....that's my 2 cents worth....

Why are so many people freaked out by one gorilla getting killed but every single day thousands of babies are being murdered. I get that an innocent creature was killed....but where is the outrage for all those innocent babies. As for the parent being negligent...How would you know that? It's only takes a second for a little one to slip away. Even good parents have their kids out of their immediate control, they were just lucky there wasn't a gorilla pit for him to fall into.

Hi Randal, Thanks for sharing this. It's a lot to think about and I agree with most of it. I do think though that you can know and have a real relationship with someone you've never met...who is just words on a screen or a voice on the phone. That being said I also recognize the importance of that one on one, face to face communication.

I want to tell you about someone else's gift. My parents have the gift, heart, and ability to take hurt angry kids and love them and make them a family. No matter how often they were yelled at, ignored or pushed away they always react with love. So far they have taken in six kids and made every one of us better people. They showed us God and they taught us we are worth loving.
