  1. Genesis 5 :. 4 After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters. Adam and Eve had lots of kids Those kids had lots of Kids And so did those in just 80 years the population of the earth could have been in the tens of thousands, and many villages
  2. The gift Of Jesus, is his love. And you cannot force this gift on anyone, you can only offer it. If they reject the gift of God's love all they have left is the terrible judgment of God Jesus on the possibility of hell Matthew 5:29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Luke 12:5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him! 1 Peter 4: 3 For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. 4 In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you. 5 They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. and Finally Revelation 20 The Great White Throne Judgment 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before [c]God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second [d]death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. Make no mistake God will judge those who have rejected His love in the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ. His judgment will be swift and it will be harsh
  3. We don't invent things to EXPLAIN what exists. First Big Mistake Here is the explanation of Red Shift. Things are moving. To try and put any other explanation behind that, or to use to to prop up your favorite theory is wrong
  4. We are saved by Grace through Faith We are saved TO works (not by them) But you cannot separate faith from works....because works is the fruit of faith a lot of people think James and Paul disagree but they don't Paul (In Ephesians 2) says if you have Faith you will do works James says that if you have no works , then you have no faith (it is dead) Again we are not saved by any of our works, we are saved by the Work of Jesus Christ on the Cross But we are saved TO do good works Ephesians 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
  5. God and I have come to a firm understanding on this He doesn't tell me and I don't need to know. There is enough trouble sufficient for this day? Anyway if He did tell me the plan, dollars to donuts I would find a way to screw it up (at least my part of it) so....I prefer just to let it unfold. End of the Story is I get to be with Him forever....that's more than enough
  6. Amen 2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
  7. We experience both fear and faith, and like Jesus we are given the choice....to give in to the fear, or step out in faith. They are polar opposites, if you are in fear, then there is little faith Faith is from God and God is love 1 John 4:There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
  8. Here is my Counter Argument 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 6 Then God said, “Let there be a [c]firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; (Creating the sun and the moon and stars 3 DAYS after he created light) and so on God: I spoke into existence and it was done in 7 days Man: it blew up from a HUGE BALL of matter and Energy that no one has a clue and it BILLIONS of years to come in order. BTW the only "evidence" that the big bang has is the doppler red shift. Which could be caused by any number of things. Not nearly enough dark matter has discovered I am defaulting to God here
  9. Not a thing. Good word
  10. Very interesting. That is why we should be looking at other with our Father's eyes
  11. By being humble Not to proud to express our need and dependence on God 1 Peter 5: 5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
  12. it certainly tests one's mettle
  13. I have to share a time I had with God. Where he gave me a "spiritual" head slap. Because of circumstances in my life, I am a very serious Christian. And one day I was looking at other "casual" Christians and I asked God how long he would tolerate this kind of person (not lukewarm by any means, but certainly not with a full head of steam) :::Thwapp::: as best as I can describe a spiritual slap in the head. And then God told me that these are HIS people and He will take them anyway He can. as long as they cross the finish line of faith they will be His forever. People are just not going to be perfect and anytime a group of them get together there is going to be drama, tension, strife, and every other kind of "interesting" behavior I see a common question in this thread....what can we do to fix it? Well I am not sure it is fixable, we are all in our own progress space with the Lord, but each of us has our weak spots or personality traits that are bound to cause dust ups. C'est le vie.....such is life. What cannot be cured must be endured with as much grace and love we can muster and we must accept that there will be issues and with each one we will deal with them in their time There will come a time of harmony and peace....but it is not this time I fear. We deal with it, as God would lead us
  14. And in a perfect world we would be marching lock step In a perfect world with perfect people
  15. It means we are not all on the same page, we are not all there for the same reason. Even if the motives are good, they can be vastly different. You seem to want to make life easier for others, to give them a hand, to encourage and you would like to see others do that. Others are there and just want to be left alone dealing with hurts or fears, and their unwillingness to join in the fellowship may be looked on as askance and they could be alienated, when what they really need to to be a part of it
  16. See Where do we draw the line? At the vision and goal of the church as a whole. We are not, or should not be children to take offense when things don't suit us. The church can you provide you the garden plot, but whether you plant crops or weeds is entirely up to you. But what you have said has proven my point. There are no perfect people, so there are no perfect churches. No matter how good your intentions are , other people are not going to share them A Church is made up of The faithful The flake The peaceful The dramatic The servant The demanding The overcomer The victim The hard worker The slacker The stoic The complainer The longsufferer The whiner The quiet one The loud one The generous one The greedy one The wild one The staid one The scholar The unlearned the humble the proud The sheep The goats the wolves This is what God has to but together to make one church. There is nothing unify them but the vision of the church. So what do we do? We overlook each other's weakness, we do not take offense at the weaknesses of others, and if the attitude of the church becomes Toxic.....we leave and find another...realizing that it will not be perfect either. There will always be a "Sister Bertha Better Than You" or a "Bombacious Bob" but what effect you let them have on you....is up to you.
  17. Both Jude 6 and 2 Peter are saying that the angels who fell are bound (chained) in darkness until judgement day
  18. I have quoted it several times, and you even quoted it back to me Jude 6 And the angels who did not keep their [c]proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day;
  19. John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
  20. Amen as Paul told us 1 Corinthians 14:39 Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues. 40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
  21. Gonna keep it simple. Murder (the ending of a life for self serving, selfish reasons) Is sin Killing....if it is not murder, probably not. But it is situational. Sin is never in the what, it is always in the why. The motive Did you get drunk and stupidly get behind the wheel of a car because you didn't care....yeah that is not Murder, but it is sin Someone breaks into your house and threatens harm to you or yours and you drop them like a bad habit, probably not
  22. Guess what boys and girls, there ain't no such thing as a perfect church A Church is no better than the sum of its members. Some are very good and some are very bad and many are somewhere in the middle But it is what has been given to us to help us live this Christian life. Fellowship, Teaching, Corporate Praise and Worship, and caring and sharing of each other's burden This is IT. It doesn't get any better than this, and if you spend your time tearing it down, do NOT complain about the rubble at your feet Look to be a POSTIVE member of your church, adding to it, making it better The pastor can't do this. He can lead the sheep from here to there, but if the herd is going to work against him.....be whiney complaining and negative.....well mutton makes a good meal
  23. Well this is where it all breaks down for me. Jude 6 Does not say "SOME" of the Angels who fell. It says The angels that "fell" are bound. You can believe what you like of course, but all of that is man's opinion trying to construct a reality from a scattering of scriptures. But who ever that is taking liberties....adding assumptions that are not given as in "Some" If there is no actual scripture declaratively that demons are fallen angels, and there is a scripture declaratively stating that the angels who fell are bound up......I have to gowith that
  24. Because I have not found any scripture that definitively says what they are, I will not speculate. If God wanted us to know that detail , He would have told us All I can find on the subject again Is Jude 6 6 And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day Which seems to infer that the fallen angles were "locked up" I am willing to accept your premise. But I need scripture
