I really want to see this movie!

I know that conservative and Christian people hate public schools and really do believe that we are all under the supervision of satan, but it just isn't true. I have to hear it from the pulpit, Fox News [they REALLY hate public schools and teachers like me] and every Christian message board I have ever visited. I know you aren't going to believe me, but we aren't of the devil. I shared, I think I shared here, how 26 states rebelled this summer against the Biden administration's change in Title IX making it possible for boys to play on girl's teams and go to girl's bathrooms. My state, Louisiana, led the way and 25 other states joined us and sued and said NO!!! Then, while other states did not join the law suit, others were closely watching and now no states are required to do this nonsense. WILL some states do this? Yes, like Minnesota of course. But you all have NO idea how many public school systems across our land fight this woke mess. I DID use the Bible in my public school classes. I was allowed to teach creationism whenever evolution was presented, which in junior high was not that often. The Gideons brought Bibles to 5th graders all the time and I would show classes some scriptures to mark. I kept a plaque of the 10 Commandments on my desk and Muslim students would ask me questions many times during the change of classes and I always answered. In my English literature class, when I taught a condensed version of Frankenstein [NEVER Dracula, but Frankenstein is a morality play], I passed out the Gideon Bibles from the libray and we read Genesis 1-4. We then wrote essays comparing and contrasting Dr. Frankenstein and his creature with God and his relationship with the man/woman he actually created. Their papers were awesome. There are SCORES of public schools that teach the Bible as literature, as part of their history curriculum, and have Bible clubs and Fellowship of Christian Students and Athletes. But to evangelize in the classroom with the Bible isn't going to be feasible. We have students of all religious backgrounds. "Public" school. Besides, even if every single student were church goers - are the public schools suppose to teach the Baptist, Pentecostal, or Catholic doctrine? Trust me, I taught in two Christian school over four years. I taught math and taught the Bible for an hour every single day. Teaching for the purpose of understanding and for evangelism. I had Baptist, Catholic, Pentecostal, Assembly of God, and Methodist students all in one class. I stuck strictly to the text and it was still not always easy when so many pre-conceived beliefs came to my class each day.

missmuffett - I didn't disagree with any of your statements. I believe them, too. There are some fundamentals of the Christian faith. You listed some of them. But I think you and I have different usages of the word "fundamentalist". I associate that term with fundamentalist churches I know of which I do not believe they practice the entire truth. The fundamentalist churches that I know of have that term "Fundamentalist" in their church name. Such as - and I am making this up - "Sunshine Grove Fundamentalist Baptist Church". And they have some practices that I cannot live with: [1] King James ONLY - to a fault. All other Bibles are "corrupt" and lead to hell. [2] Gross legalism - women can't wear pants, the church decides what movies you can watch, no dating, purity ring ceremonies, ALL women must submit to ALL men, women cannot teach any male above the age of 8, no birth control - couples must have a "quiver full" of children, and these rules take equal status with the Bible. [3] Spiritual abuse = There is much shame and fear taught in these churches. Not a proper shame-facedness, but a cruel and intentional pointing of the finger at the sins of church members, but never the staff members. The Bible is not used to preach the gospel, but to manipulate and control the congregation. [4] The preachers are obsessed with telling everyone what they are doing wrong and seemingly have no interest in people's salvation. The preachers alone read their Bibles - if at all. The congregants just, as some have said, "wait for him to tell us what it says." I've seen that with my own eyes. I guess I have such an aversion to these churches and their horrible teachings that the word "fundamentalist" makes me nervous. Yes, there are definitely fundamentals of the faith by which all Christians must learn and embrace. But the "fundamentalist" churches don't usually practice them as much as they practice their own man-made rules.

I'm quoting you so that people will read it again.... Also, the Bible is clear!!!! Hebrews 1:1-2 = "In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe." The book of Revelation of Jesus Christ is Jesus' final word to mankind in inspired/written forum. Spoken to the Apostle John completely explaining things up to the last day of earth and the first days of glory!!! There are NO new revelations. I'm not saying that God does not speak to people. I'm saying that God no longer speaks to people to write things down, publish a book, and sell it/give it away as the Word of God.

So nothing I said made any difference to you?
-
Yes, but they don't claim Christ. Matt Walsh does.

Iran has cause [insane cause] to be angry at all three. I'm glad he was caught.
-
Wow...I heard three people named as possible victims. Trump, Biden, and Haley. I think all three could use the prayers.

Just remember, Debp. You did ask. Unfortunately, this strikes a nerve with me. And I know when I say this that I am going to rub people here at Worthy the wrong way. I know that I am not everyone's cup of tea here. I know that my being a moderate and Independent here churns some people's stomach. He is a celebrity for the super-conservatives. Matt Walsh and all of his super-conservative pals at the Daily Wire are comics. Harsh comics who "fight" the left - or so they say that is their purpose - but their purpose seems to be ONLY in making people laugh at the looney left and to hate them all the more. Hate. Hate. Hate. That is what he is about. NO ONE who watches his movies and his daily stuff are concerned about people's salvation or repentance. I know Matt Walsh says that he is a practicing Catholic, but I don't know if he is saved. That's not my call, but I don't see the treatment of others the way that Christ would in him. This is the problem with the world, Debp. Everyone thinks he or she has the sole truth - from their own heart. The Bible says our hearts are evil and who can know it. Truth IS Christ's and is Christ's alone. It comes only from the Word of God. AND people treat others who have a different belief than they as the scum of the earth and mock them incessantly. The WHOLE WORLD has turned into Comedy Central and an evil one at that. No one hungers and thirsts after righteousness anymore. Every thing is to be scoffed at and laughed at. Do you think ANYONE will be saved because of his insults and harsh mockery as a "Christian"? He and I share similar beliefs in what is right and what is wrong. The difference is - I'm not going to bash sinners to death with my words. And I'm certain that I am not going to try and make money off of it. I confidently share what my beliefs are with those who are lost, pray for them, have strong and private conversations with them [I've had many!], and teach in my Sunday School to whatever age group the difference between godliness and unholiness. To me, it all started at Liberty Baptist Church in Lynchberg, Virginia in the 1990's. The pastor, Jerry Falwell started his "moral majority" of self-righteous church members and he started a public and pastoral campaign against the television actress, Ellen Denegeres. She is gay. She NEEDS to be saved!! She NEEDS to repent!! He decided to start mocking her from the pulpit. He called her Ellen "degenerate" [meaning lost beyond hope]. He did this over and over and over and over. He would just laugh and laugh. His congregation laughed and laughed. People watching at home laughed and laughed at the pathetic gay lady. That was a long time ago and she is STILL gay, lost, and going to hell. And nobody cares. It was just real fun to laugh at her. People like Matt Walsh are, in part, the reason I am not a Republican anymore. The hard-core right - and I realize that not all people are THAT far to the right, don't seem to care about much except proving every one else to be wrong. I find people like this to NOT know their Bibles, don't attend church, and hold the lost in a such a low esteem to not even TRY to bring them to Christ. The hard-core right - is wrong.

My apologies for fouling it up. I wanted to put it in the "news" section and didn't realize that was the video section.

Here's all I know. Trump is perfectly fine. 1:30 - Trump golfing in Florida. Secret Service with him. Four shots fired. Secret Service got Trump out of the way and called police. Some did open fire on the gunman, but he escaped. A witness described the man and saw him shoot. In the bushes where the shooter was they found an AK-47, a bag, and other things. Local police caught the gunman and he is in custody. That's all I know.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up and why?
Jayne replied to missmuffet's topic in General Discussion
Oh, how I wanted to be a paleontologist!! I read everything I could and that was there at the time about dinosaurs, bones, digging, and more. I also, with all my heart wanted to be a missionary!! I was convinced that this was my destiny. Either way, I was determined that I would be in Africa one day. I did make a small mission trip at the age of 16 with my church to a Native American Reservation in Oklahoma who wanted a church to come in and conduct a Vacation Bible School for the children. I had never worked with children, never even babysat! But at the end of the week, God said to me, "This is what I want you to do." I cried the ugly cry. Not because digging up dinosaur bones was out or and being an overseas missionary was out. I cried like way because God had spoken to me so clearly and definitively. I'm still wild about anything prehistoric and dinosaurs and I still think about the mission field sometimes. Now, as a retiree, each day is in the Lord's hand. -
One comment on Genesis 6:1-4--not demons or angels.

Hebrews 1:5? Oops. There is a difference between "sons" of God and "Son" of God. I'm 63 years old and have been studying and teaching the Bible for a long time. I'm not perfect. But I have never heard a pastor, a commentator, a teacher, or anyone say that the book of Job was "just" an allegory. I believe the book of Job is very real. Job was real, the devil was real, the sons of God were real, his friends were real, the deaths of his children were real, .... it was all real. This does not affect people's salvation. Again, I'm out. -

I know that Job was written very early. I've taught the Bible for many years. I'm not going to debate you on this. I'll just ask where do YOU think God was when these sons of God came "before Him". I'm out. -
Taylor Swift is probably the most influential and powerful female today. She has screaming fans of all ages who pay $1,000 to $1,500 per ticket. Don't discredit her endorsement. Just this past month, all that people can talk about and all the media is focused on is ......wait for it......LITERALLY who she sat by at the football games. It got more press than the games. People have lost their minds over her. There will be some who vote for Harris because she said she is. Her one vote is only one vote. We may not listen to celebrities, but many people old enough TO vote do.

Well, you did go there. Genesis 6 says "sons of God". Read the book of Job where this means angels, including the devil. -

Angels, when appearing to people, are male with male names and many times in battle-ready form. I personally believe angels are genderless in the way we think, but that fallen angels - or demons - can change forms. -

Jayne replied to Bruce_Leiter's topic in Spiritual Warfare
Hi, Bruce. I used to believe what you do. And I vehemently taught it that way. "The Sons of God" = righteous men. "The daughters of men" = sinful women. The thought of fallen angels having sex with earthly women was crazy to me. And then I, myself, started reading the context. Context of Genesis 3, Genesis 6, Genesis 8, Matthew 22, 2 Peter 2, and Jude. [1] 2 Peter 2 and Jude speak of some fallen angels that God put into hell for their sins and is keeping them there until the final judgment. What was their sin? It doesn't specifically say, BUT Jude says "...in a similar manner, the people of Sodom and Gomorrah and surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexually immorality and perversion..." "In a similar manner". So whatever that sin of some fallen angels was - it was sexual. [2] How does that jive with Matthew 22 where Jesus says that angels don't marry? Jesus was answering a question of the Sadducees who didn't believe in the afterlife and were wanting to trick him about a woman who had multiple husbands...."whose wife would she be in heaven?" He told them that there wasn't going to be marriage in heaven just as angels weren't married in heaven. Jesus didn't say that angels COULDN'T get married. He said the faithful ones who lived in heaven did not marry. [3] Genesis 6 and Genesis 8 say that both before AND after the Great Flood that mankind was evil. So did God make a plan that failed? What was the point of the Great Flood if it didn't change mankind? I believe that answer is in Genesis 3. [4] Genesis 3 shows God telling the devil that he will have his undoing and final judgment. And God said it would come from the "seed of the woman" and that "seed" would crush the devil's head. I believe the point of the Great Flood was to rid the world of the demonic damage done to the "seed of the woman". The devil doesn't know everything. He is a created being just like a turnip. But he understood somehow that women would be involved in producing some child - somewhere - some time - that would be his undoing. I now believe, and this is NOT a hill that I would die on, that these fallen angels either [1] demonically possessed earthly men or [2] demonically posed as earthly men, took these women, and produced demonic offspring. Yes, mankind was very sinful and God repented of creating mankind, but I believe his ultimate reason for the Great Flood was to rid the earth of the demonic offspring and he washed the whole earth clean. -
@Figure of eighty, this is for you. It meant a lot to me at therapy this week. It's about the IMPORTANCE of the words we say to ourselves. This is Steve Harvey. "Slick" and "Bill" are his father and mother. That was their nicknames. He had a bad stutter as a young child.

Debp, I hope you are right about him, but how can you grow spiritually when you haven't been saved to begin with. I pray he is, but his words don't prove it. I told you about this summer, in an interview with Fox news, that he said he believed in heaven and if were good he would go there and if he were bad he would go to the other place. That burdens me for him. I wish you were burdened for him, too.

I think the bromance is a myth. How could Obama be friends with a man who said of him, "Obama is the first mainstream African American who is smart, clean, and articulate"? Don't you remember that? Biden says notoriously racist comments and has his whole career. What about when Obama said, "Leave it to Joe Biden to "f" things up."? We will just have to disagree.
-
Endorsing Biden after Hillary and using him as an "echo chamber" do not best friends make.
-
I've tried and tried to tell people this but no one listens to me. I sort of want him to be president. I am reluctantly going to vote for him. But MORE THAN THAT, I want the man and his entire family to be saved.
-
Of course she has nothing to offer and everyone knows that, including the Democrats. They don't care. She won't be running the show anyway. Just like Biden hasn't ran anything. All they need is a face. The ones "running the show" for the Democrats are names that we have probably never heard of who are worth multi-billions of dollars and some of those names - overseas names. We know a handful of those names IN this country: Obama, Pelosi, Schummer, and the wanna-bes like the Clintons and Hakim Jefferies. But the rest are behind the scenes and pulling the strings without our knowledge.
