Exodus 3: 1 Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 2 And the angel of the LORD [Yahweh] appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, “I will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.” 4 When the LORD [Yahweh] saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the bush, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” 5 Then he said, “Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.” 6 And he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God. Genesis 22:15 And the angel of the LORD [Yahweh] called to Abraham a second time from heaven 16 and said, “By myself I have sworn, declares [Yahweh], because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, Judges 2:1 Now the angel of the LORD [Yahweh] went up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said, “I brought you up from Egypt and brought you into the land that I swore to give to your fathers. I said, ‘I will never break my covenant with you, ... Judges 6:22 Then Gideon perceived that he was the angel of the LORD [Yahweh]. And Gideon said, “Alas, O Lord GOD! For now I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face.” God > Yahweh > Yeshua > Jesus > the angel of Yahweh > the word of God > bread of life >

Evidence - proof - certainty these signs shall follow them that believe the gospel 13 Even Simon himself believed, and after being baptized he continued with Philip. And seeing signs and great miracles performed, he was amazed. 14 Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent to them Peter and John, 15 who came down and prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit, 16 for he had not yet fallen on any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then they laid their hands on them and they received the Holy Spirit. Acts 8: and what was the evidence that believers had now received the Holy Spirit? 2 And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John's baptism.” 4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying. 7 There were about twelve men in all. Acts 19: believe the scriptures for they are the words of life.

Any stories of Spirits gifts of miraculous powers
Waggles replied to Ervin P's topic in Gifts of the Spirit
I will share with you and others on Worthy Forums my testimony as to being born new again and experiencing the miraculous power of God through his Holy Spirit. while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. Hebrews 4:4 One day in October 1996 I walked out of a local shopping centre and came across a group of Pentecostal saints witnessing to the many wonderful works of the gospel of salvation. I stopped and read a small printed testimony from a woman who had been a heroin addict with hepatitis C. She stated that she had been baptised by full immersion and then baptised in the Holy Spirit and spoke in a new tongue, and afterwards she was miraculously healed from her addiction and from her hepatitis. I was mightily impressed, but unsure as to how true these claims were being a Roman Catholic, and being also ignorant of the power of God (and the scriptures) on being "born again." A man named, Bob, came over and witnessed to me, and he also had an amazing testimony about his transformation from being a bogun and a car thief to living righteously by the indwelling Holy Spirit. I asked him, "Is this all true, what you have told me?" And he simply opened up his battered KJV Bible and read out many scriptures pertaining to the Holy Spirit. The verses affected me much and I was troubled that being a Roman Catholic was not the correct way. I started praying to Jesus about this funny church I had came across, and prayed that if this gospel about being born again and speaking in tongues was approved by Him then make it happen and lead me to the true gospel. Jesus answered my prayers and I ended up in a hall in a working class suburb and that Sunday I heard for the first time the operation of the three voice gifts of the Holy Spirit - speaking in tongues followed by interpretation for each, and three gifts of prophecy. I listened intently hoping to fault what was said, but I could not; for the wisdom spoken was true and like a two edged sword pierced my soul that day. Later, on a Wednesday night meeting I was baptised by full immersion confessing my faith in Jesus as my God and my saviour. But my life did not change and I continued using drugs and being worldly in many sinful ways. Then on Sunday 1st December 1996 I was baptised in the Holy Spirit (I received the indwelling Holy Spirit) that afternoon and spoke loudly out in an knew unknown tongue and experienced a wonderful revelation that Jesus is alive and that God had come to reside in me - and that all of scripture is true. That very afternoon I experienced my first miracles - praying in a God given spiritual language; then instantly healed and set free from tobacco and marijuana addictions, along with being healed from injecting various drugs (such as amphetamines, 'speed') . Jesus also healed me from alcohol, and healed my kidneys (they were passing a lot of blood in my urine). So here we are in 2021 and I still experience healings and miracles (for myself and others), and the power of the Holy Spirit working within me to strengthen the inner man and to enable me to overcome the flesh and my wrong doings. For walking in the Spirit is always a work in progress. And we do walk by faith and not by sight thus we pray in the Spirit every day diligently. -
Any stories of Spirits gifts of miraculous powers
Waggles replied to Ervin P's topic in Gifts of the Spirit
In my Pentecostal Spirit-filled church where all are baptised in the Holy Spirit and therefore we all can pray in tongues (praying in the Spirit) we all have testimonies to many miracles, healings and much answered prayer. 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 1Corinthians 12: At every worship meeting twice a week one or two persons will get up and go out front to share their testimony as to how they came to be born new again and of miracles and blessings that they have received. Praying for those with needs and/or laying hands on people with needs is common practice and done in faith that the promises of God are yea and amen ... such as, "these signs shall follow them that believe ... they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover." Some miraculous healings are pretty well instant and some healings are incremental and happen over time [but in these situations I believe that Jesus is also healing a persons faith and their walk]. -
Quite incorrect and untrue ... But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. John 15:26 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. John 16: 13-14 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 1Corinthians 2: and then there are also in 1Corinthians 12 the gifts of the Holy Spirit given out to the saints in a Spirit-filled church such as knowledge, wisdom and the discerning of spirits, but to name three; along with healing and working of miracles ... the Holy Spirit not only teaches and upholds the word of God but also offers a big plus on walking in the Spirit as a true worshipper.

26 What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. 27 If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret. 28 But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God. 29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said. 1Corinthians 14: Here is God's direct instructions on how to conduct orderly worship as a Spirit-filled church of believers.

You are confused and muddled on this issue ... also most unscriptural. If you were genuinely baptized in the Holy Spirit you would understand what it is to pray in the Spirit - that is praying in tongues, which all genuine Pentecostal Christians do. Repent and believe the full gospel of salvation; water baptism by full immersion in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit; and be baptized in the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of speaking in a new tongue (a spiritual language God given to exercise the power of the Holy spirit within a true worshipper). 44 While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. 45 And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles. 46 For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared, 47 “Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days. Acts 10: 2 And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John's baptism.” 4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying. Acts 19: 15 And he [Jesus] said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:

Encountering God and Speaking in tongues

Completely unscriptural and therefore also doctrinally untrue - have you received the Holy ghost since you believed??? Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. Acts 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? ... 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And all the men were about twelve. -

I see that unbelief and calling the Word of God a lie is still prevalent and abounds. No wonder the likes of Bishop John Shelby Spong, the great unbeliever, is so popular and sells his books on unbelief in great numbers. Amongst his many blasphemies is the claim that the accounts in the gospels of the many miracles done by Jesus are fictitious and made up to give the claims about Jesus' divinity some credibility. Well why not? If Mark 16:15-20 can be disputed and trashed by unbelievers - the word of God is not true - then why not any other parts of the scriptures? Did you know that Spong and his ilk dispute much of the scriptures, as all unbelievers do: for example, the claim that Jesus ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9 vv) is completely false and impossible. Unbelief - there are no boundaries. -

I do not know what crazy antics people get up to in the U.K. but what you describe is not the way of biblical Pentecost church conduct. Praying in the Holy Ghost is fully understood by God (which is really what counts) and responded to in turn by much answered prayer, healings and miracles. "These signs shall follow them that believe ..." The choice is yours - the full gospel of salvation or to believe another gospel given by men. -

YES they are correct. A disciple of Jesus Christ, a Christian must be born new again by water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism, with the Bible evidence of speaking in a new tongue. Praying in tongues is the only sign given in our NT as to the truth of receiving the indwelling Holy Spirit. Jesus himself declared that this would be: 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16: The true church of God - the Spirit-filled church would be a church wherein all members would undergo baptism by water and the Spirit, and all would pray in tongues; and there would be the demonstration of God's power and purpose in His church - signs, healings, miracles, blessings in abundance. You need to be with Pentecostal (not charismatic) Christians who can teach and share with you the full gospel of salvation and help you to seek for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. When you receive the indwelling Holy Ghost you will both speak in tongues (praying in the Holy Ghost) and you will know that Jesus is truly your Lord and God, your Saviour. -

In The Revival Fellowship we are obedient and in full accord with the instructions laid down by the apostle Paul in 1Corinthians 14 on how to conduct a formal worship and communion meeting in a Spirit-filled church - thus we still operate the three voice gifts of the Holy Spirit (separate and distinct to the signs referred to in Mark 16: that is all who believe and receive the indwelling Holy Spirit shall know through the sign of speaking in a new tongue). diversity of tongues followed by interpretation to a max of three times up to three gifts of prophecy - God speaking to his church to give comfort and to edify us. Amen. Mark 16: You are not alone my brother in Christ. I too was baptised in water and about a month later seeking to be baptised in the Holy Spirit I burst forth speaking in a new tongue and I was instantly healed there and then from some 25 years plus of cigarette and marijuana smoking, along with alcohol drinking and my addiction to shooting up speed. That very afternoon set free from my demons, the old man, all of it wonderfully by the power of God within me. That was on 1st December 1996 and I have been praying in tongues ever since, enjoying multitude miracles, healings, blessings and the power to overcome the trials and tribulations that come against my faith and my walk. And I am still worshipping in spirit and in truth in a disciplined Bible obedient Pentecostal church werein everybody is baptised in water and the Holy Spirit, and all have the sign of receiving the indwelling Holy Spirit by speaking in tongues: Our personal spiritual prayer language given by God so that we may transcend our carnal limitations and pray the deep things needed for our souls and our faith. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 1Corinthians 2: -
Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Rev 1:17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: Isaiah 41:4 Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he. Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Isaiah 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me. Isaiah 49:26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. 57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham? 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Ephesians chapter 3 refers to the mystery of Christ revealed 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: 9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

Agreed. Jesus is separate and distinct from the Father - coexistent the creation is also through Jesus as well as the plan of salvation Proverbs 8 on Wisdom is a clear allegory pointing to Jesus who existed from the beginning with the Father. Also worth thinking about is that the Holy Spirit is given to us from the Father both the promised Comforter and as power. I Am, the LORD and Yahweh of the OT is, I believe, none other than Jesus himself.

The wonderful advantage of being truly a Spirit-filled Pentecostal Christian able to pray endlessly in the Holy Spirit: 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to worship Him. 24 God is a spirit, and they who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. Are you trying to convince me of something? I do not deny the trinity or the triune nature of God. I do not have any doctrinal objection to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Nevertheless 1John 5:7 is not a God-given verse in the original Greek. Later scholarly versions generally omit this verse. But regardless of the omission of 1John 5:7 it does not mean that what we refer to as the Trinity of the Godhead does not stand. You have more than adequately listed many verses that support the three aspects of God revealed to us mere mortals. No Biblical truth is dependent on simply one verse alone. Also as a Spirit-filled Pentecostal Christian baptized in the Holy Ghost I actually experience the Trinity of God; for example, when I am praying in tongues my prayers go forth to Jesus and to my Father in Heaven right up to the Throne of Grace, and I am connected and receive power and answered prayer from God by the Holy Spirit. A wonderful loop of interaction from myself to Jesus to my Father and back to me.

This is a copy and paste of a blog or thread reply by Noose from another Christian chat site worth a read and a bit of thinking about "ONE GOD Muslims often attack Paul and Christianity for not adhering to the greatest commandment and basic truth which is ONE GOD. But what does ONE really mean? We have at least two meanings: One as a unit of measure; this simply means 'single unit' and only applies to material things that have a form (definite size/shape/boundaries that we can behold)- boundaries that show clear separation from the next. We can say one orange/one car/one house but we can not say one air or one darkness not unless it is contained in a container that gives it definite shape. Even the one used in measurement- one kilogram/one kilometer is only applicable because the measurement have boundaries that separate one measure from the next. This kind of one, does not describe the True God. One = alone: this kind of one describes God's attribute. Like He alone can save/ He alone is immortal/ He alone is all knowing. We know God of the bible is immaterial (spirit) and no one has understood/seen His form- therefore the oneness of God as described in the bible is with regards to His attributes. The numbers game doesn't arise at all. The Muslim god has claimed to be a single unit, this is how I know he's a false god/an idol, because if he is a single unit, then he is made of material and has a form (definite shape/size/boundaries), if he is material, then material was never created and hence the material universe was also not created. How do I know he is a single unit rather than claiming to be alone? In several places he tells Muslims 'do not say three..', surely, the three in that statement means three units so they should stick to one unit. Cheers." (Noose)

The Gift of Prophecy: Is It Still Given Today?
Waggles replied to ForHisGlory37's topic in Gifts of the Spirit
Papua New Guinea is experiencing a tremendous Pentecostal Holy Spirit revival where entire villages at a time are being converted by the power and promises of the full gospel of salvation. The head pastor is Godfrey Wippon who was working down under in Australia at our public broadcaster and was baptized in water and the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. Godfrey needed to return to PNG as his mother was dying and went back to her village. She was on her deathbed and Godfrey laid hands on her and prayed for her healing. She was miraculously healed and raised up in front of the entire village population looking on. So when Godfrey preached Christ Jesus to the village they as a community [clan/kinship structure] all got baptized by full immersion and sought to also be baptized in the Holy Spirit. These signs shall follow them that believe ... how true it is and also necessary to confirm and uphold the spiritual truth of the gospel and Christ Jesus as the risen Lord and God in nations experienced with the activity of spiritual powers and witchcrafts. For in the Third World spiritual power like black magic and the witch doctor is very real, and all fear the power and dangers of magic. The miracles and cleansing through believing and embracing the full gospel of salvation challenges traditional tribal beliefs and removes the fear of witchcraft, etc. from such people. Raising the dead, healing the incurable, giving sight to the blind, and so on is powerful and declares a wonderful truth that Jesus is the true and living God to be worshipped. Papua New Guinea has gone from one man and one village to now hundreds of villages and some 50,000 plus Pentecostal speaking in tongues saints - extraordinary > Fiji > Vanuatu > Solomon Islands > New Zealand > Bougainvillea > Indonesia > Asia http://www.revivalcentresofpng.org/ -
The Gift of Prophecy: Is It Still Given Today?
Waggles replied to ForHisGlory37's topic in Gifts of the Spirit
I am of The Revival Fellowship a Biblically obedient Pentecostal church where we submit to the scriptures and conduct ourselves decently and in order. > we preach the full gospel of salvation and omit no verses concerning the Kingdom of God and the need to be converted. > repentance from our lives, etc. > full immersion water baptism confessing one's faith in salvation and in our Lord Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice. > baptism in the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of speaking in tongues [praying in the Holy Spirit]. > becoming a member of the body of Christ > a new creation > a person with a testimony. > worship meetings are conducted in accordance with 1Corinthians 14 and at each worship meeting we conduct the operation of the three voice gifts of the Holy Spirit as Paul writes of: > up to 3 gifts of diversity of tongues > each such gift followed sequentially by the gift of interpretation > then up to 3 gifts of prophecy. We are very straighforward, and we do not worship through excessive praise and worship music nor entertainment, but rather through the reading and living of the Word of God. No one gets slain, nor falls over, nor acts silly, etc. The Bible clearly writes and teaches us that when believers are baptized in the Holy Spirit they simply speak in a new tongue and enjoy the revelation of truth. Then converts need to learn and grow in walking in the Spirit and in overcoming the flesh. This is an ongoing process of learning and becoming more mature; grounded and stablished upon the Word > being a doer of the Word > being led by the Spirit and ultimately one ought to have the fruit of the Spirit evident in our lives and all that we do in the name of our Lord. -
He just gets ruder and ruder.

Am I missing something here? Am I being attacked by Seventh Day Adventists? I'd forgotten about them. I guess they're still around. But the rudeness. The crass self-righteous humbug really is way over the top.
