There is a church age. Then we are told there will be a kingdom age when we will rule and reign with Christ for 1,000 years. Then there will be a new heaven and a new earth.
-
I spend a lot of time in Genesis 1 & 2. We need to go back to the beginning. In Genesis 1:27 we are told: "26Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.” Then in Genesis chapter two we read about the Garden of Eden. This is God's plan for man and for the Earth.
-
God's plan was Priests and Judges. They wanted a King like the Heathen nations and that was not His plan, but He allowed it because that is what they wanted. We do have a judicial system, but man's law is different from God's law.
-
That is a choice we make. A good man takes good care of His animals. A lot of people do not understand an eco system and how to take care of what we are given.
-
In Genesis 1 they were told to subdue and have dominion. Genesis 1:28 "God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth.”

As a dispensationist I believe the church age is 2,000 years and the kingdom age is 1,000 years. There is reason to believe that the church age began on the day of pentacost in the year 29 Ad. But the temple was not destroyed until 70 ad.

Are people in Heaven?

There are two words: rapture and resurrection. They are not the same word. You can define them anyway you want. I made no attempt to explain what rapture or resurrection means. -
Should A Christian Participate In A Drug Trial?
JohnR7 replied to Mr. M's topic in General Discussion
Maybe if they were a specialist. They are looking for side effects so the doctors know what to look for and test for. I have drugs that can affect magnesium and potassium. So they have to test to see that they are at the proper level. -
Addictions, bad and good........tattoos of Bible verses; thoughts?

My son is very aggressive, like my brother. But they use this in a positive way to get a good education and to get good grades. They end up being leaders in the community because they go above and beyond what others are doing in a positive way; . -
Most of the issues have to do with the original not being fully translated. Even the Hebrew Language itself contains a lot of information that people are not aware of. For example, every letter has a number value. So if two different words have the same value then their meaning is associated. אֱלֹהִים (Elohim) means "God" and has a numerical value of 86 (א=1, ל=30, ה=5, י=10, מ=40). הַטֶּבַע (hatteva) means "nature" and also has a numerical value of 86 (ה=5, ט=9, ב=2, ע=70).

There is a scripture that says His feet shall touch the ground. So you think He will be here on earth for the 1,000 year Kingdom age?

I've changed my mind. I now believe the "earth" is 6k years old

Everything is symbolic and has a meaning. Unless we live in a Matrix then the world we live in is still a real literal world. -

The sea is not the ocean. There is the Mediterranean Sea, there is the Black Sea, and the Dead sea. The Persian gulf could be considered a sea. The conclusion is that the continents will no longer be drifting apart but they will come back together. Genesis 1:9-10 "And God said, 'Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.' -
Use to be illegal to wear a mask. Esp when they were wearing clown masks. People could get beat up for wearing one. Then doing the pandemic you risked getting beat up if you do not wear a mask. People can do what they want if it is optional.

A question that I addressed to Catholic apologists
JohnR7 replied to Not of the World's topic in General Discussion
Ephesians 2:20 tells us that the church is built on the foundation of the 12 apostles with Jesus as the chief cornerstone. So the foundation was not just based on the teachings of Peter but all of the disciples. Today most everyone of every religion follows the teachings of Jesus. But they do not have much consideration for his disciples and their teaching. -

The churches that have apostolic secusion believe that Peter was the first. When I joined the church the bishop layed hands on me. That goes all the way back to Peter. It may seem silly to you or not important, but I think it is kinda of neat. Also we believe you do not have to be Romab Catholic to be a part of the Catholic Church. That is why Catholics that leave their Church often end up in an Episcopal church. Mine was a Charismatic Episcopal Church. -

Rev tells us there were seven churches in seven cities. Rev 2:1 talks about 7 stars and 7 lampstands. They were to take the gospil to the end of the world. I still think there are seven churches today. Although some seem to be a combination of two of the origional churches. In Acts 1:4 & 2:1 the early church was in one mind and one accord. Paul said (1 cor 11:19) there would be divisions to show who was and who was not approved by God. The Church of England is the Anglo Church. It became the Episcopal Church in Ameria and also the Methoidist church with John Wesley. They all claim apostolic secussion. There is still a book of common prayer they all use today. I was an Episcopal and my wife a Methoidist. There is not that much difference. We have no problem to attend each others church. Hers is just a bit more relaxed and not as formal. Yet they still use the book of common prayer. -
Is it possible that homosexuality is a birth defect?
JohnR7 replied to Not of the World's topic in General Discussion
It is well established by Dr Ornish that the switch can be turned off even if it is a geneational issue. I think this is an issue with slavery before the civil war. There are people today that feel that have inheritied that trama from their ancestors. Science would tend to confirm tha this is true. So far we have only figured out 5% of he DNA. We still do not know what the other 95% does. We continue to learn a lot in leaps and bounds. -
His work was a finished work. There is nothing anyone can add to what He did for us. Even though I had not even been born. 2000 years of people had not yet been born and He had not yet begun to do a finished work in their life. This is most likely a reference to the dead sea or something like that. Not all the water in the world. It could be a referance that people are alive and no longer dead in their sin.

Satan was thrown out of Heaven. There is no inperfection or injustice in Heaven. God is a God of absolute, perfect and precise Justice. This is why Jesus paid the price for Sin at Calvery. I consider this to be a good deal because we still receive rewards even though there is no way we can pay the price to earn our own way into Heaven. Only Jesus can pay the price for us. Even one drop of His precious Blood and redeem the whole world and all of creation.

Einstein tells us that E = MC2. What if M = O? If M = O that is the center of a black hole. A back hole is where gravity will not allow light to excape. If light excapes the Event Horizon then time grabs ahold of it and it becomes M or matter. This is the beginning of the Universe. When God said let there be light. This is also a singularity and infinity. The first thing Tyson has to say to Ray Kurzweil is that we already use the term singularity to describe what goes on in a black hole. So Kurzweil is giving a new meaning to a word that is already in use. This is quantum physics because in regular physics M or matter can never be O. There is no energy without matter and there is no matter without energy. We convert matter into energy for example when we convert coal into electric power. Right now the big news story is the long sought after fusion breakthrough. They can create more energy then they use to produce the energy. They hope to replace dirty nuclear power with clean or green power. I look forward to the day when our phone or watch can produce it's own power so we do not have to charge it anymore. Just like my dad had a self winding watch using a flywheel. So he did not have to wind his watch. MIT engineers have discovered a new way of generating electricity using tiny carbon particles that can create a current simply by interacting with liquid surrounding them. Of course there is a lot of energy in Hydrogen and they have yet to produce a practical Hydrogen car. So maybe no one is going to hold their breath that they will actually produce a fusion powered car or fusion power plants. There are people working on trying to do that though. This is a 12 years old kid from Tennessee who created a nuclear reaction in his family playroom. He wants to create a power station the size of a semi trailer that could be used to power a town. Or any remote location. So if people ask for the scientific evidence for God then they need to look into Black Holes, Event Horizons, Singularities. Morning is when light breaks through the Horizon and produces the beginning of the day. Evening is when the Sun sets in the Horizon and their is no more sun light. The light we have in the Evening is a reflection of the Moon. When we read about evening and morning and day in the Bible, I see a horizon. I see a connection between this and the horizon in a black hole when light is able to excape.

God is not the problem, He is the cure. He has never disappointed me. It can take a lot of prayer though. I have times I have had to pray five or six hours before I got my answer from God. Sometimes we have to learn to be patient and wait on Him. We cause a lot of our own problems in life. There are a lot of things I wish I could go back and do different. Also we do not understand why God allows things to happen and how He is going to cause good to come out of it. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Romans 8:28 We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose. We need to seek to follow God's plan and purpose for us and then He will cause all things to work together for good. No matter what we think of the life we have to live. God is still good. Deuteronomy 31 8 “Be strong and courageous ... The LORD Himself goes before you; He will be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged.”

Reconciling 6 Days with 13.7 Billion Years
JohnR7 replied to SavedOnebyGrace's topic in Science and Faith
Our translation and interpretation of the Word of God changes. For example if you look you will find drawings of Adam and Eve wearing fig leaves. Because the translators know nothing about how to make clothing. You take the fiber from the fig tree, spin it into thread and weave the tread into cloth and sow clothing back then the same way we make clothing today. Fig tree clothing looks very nice but it is not very warm for the colder climates north of Africa. When I was a kid we had wool clothing, or down clothing made from feathers. Otherwise we were cold because they did not have the thin insulation we have to keep warm today. I had a down sleeping bag that both of my sons loved because it was so comfortable. Also it was warm even you could use it down to 30 degrees to stay warm. Although I do not much sleep in the cold if it gets below 30. In alaska they have ways to keep warm when it is colder. The real problem was at the tower of Babylon when God confused the languages. It is as if He does not want people to understand unless they are United together with Him according to His plan and His purpose. Otherwise Genesis 11:6 "nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them." The Bible remains consistant and the same. The problem is when we try to translate the Bible into our language, rather than to put a little effort into study and learn the language the Bible was written in. I am no expert on Hebrew, but I know a little bit. -

Maybe you better take this up with Kurt Patrick Wise. He would be the first to admit the scientific evidence. Even if it contradicts his YEC creation beliefs. He does not deny one to try to support the other. Also from God's perspective - time is relative because God is light and there is no time at the speed of light. The first word is "Beginning", so that is the perspective of Genesis chapter one. The "Beginning" was when God created the earth. This was 4.5 billion years ago. The sun is 4.6 billion years ago. The universe is 13.7 years but that goes back a long distance from the beginning of the earth. I am a YEC also, but that just means Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden 6,000 years ago. There is abundant scientific evidence to show that they were real people living n ancient Mesopotamia at the time. Bishop Usshers book is a very accurate history of the last 6,000 years. That is why his book is still a leading authority 500 years after it was written, because it is so accurate. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_Wise -

The only way you can get the Bible to line up with Science is if each day is half the lenght of the previous say. So day one is 6 billion years, day two is 3 billion, day three is 1.5 billion and so on.
