  1. Then that is what we should look for. We do not always get confirmation from others. We do want to live life in a way that we are well pleasing to God. So that with His help we are becoming the people He wants us to be.
  2. Actually, every miracle I have seen is God restoring things back to his purpose and intention. The problem with proving a miracle is to prove that there was ever a problem in the first place. Because everything looks normal. For example, when my heart stopped, they say the odds of getting it going again is one in 1200. There are people who say that is not a miracle. You just beat the odds. Even though they could not "beat the odds" if they had a 3% chance of survival.
  3. I had a friend that told me that they dug a hole one day and put over 300 dead bodies in it. The main thing that qualifies you for is a government job. If you are willing to kill for the government, then chances are you will not buck the system. Actually, he worked for the rail-road. If they train hit a car and killed someone that did not seem to bother him much.
  4. A lot of people die. Of course, there are drug overdoses but also accidents. There are a lot of diseases for people that do not take care of themselves. Yeast infections, bacteria & Virus (STD's) There are over 100 stds and some of them can cause cancer. I know of at least two people with life-threatening cancer from STD's. They do have a vaccine for that now. You would think that their death would do more to encourage us to witness to people. But it does not seem to have that much of an effect on us to want us to get out and do more to warn them. Even when our very good friends die.
  5. Yes only very short. Three minutes at the most.
  6. This is the Law of Moses. Many say they do not think they have to follow the law. So they admit that they are lawless. Then there are people who want to add to the law. They have 613 laws they follow. Jesus said it is enough to follow the Law, we do not have to add to the Law. Salvation comes though Jesus, the law is for our benefit and well being. David explains this a lot in the Psalms. Paul quotes David a lot to help us understand what we can learn about the law from David. David talks about his love for the law and how the law was given for our protection and well being. Psalm 119 Your Word is a Lamp to My Feet …97Oh, how I love Your law! All day long it is my meditation. 98Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, for they are always with me. 99I have more insight than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation.
  7. Maybe you should read it for yourself. Rev 12 7 Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, 8 but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers[a] has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. 11 And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. 12 Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” 13 And when the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. 14 But the woman was given the two wings of the great eagle so that she might fly from the serpent into the wilderness, to the place where she is to be nourished for a time, and times, and half a time. 15 The serpent poured water like a river out of his mouth after the woman, to sweep her away with a flood. 16 But the earth came to the help of the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river that the dragon had poured from his mouth. 17 Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And he stood on the sand of the sea.
  8. Newton's theory of gravity was considered to be scientific fact also.
  9. I do not think we ever lose our free will. Although there is talk about the irresistible will of God.
  10. Jesus was transparent about not wanting to go to Calvary. Hebrew 12 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. 4In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.
  11. Because we need to take good care of ourselves. The Sabbath was made for us, not us for the Sabbath. It is for our benefit that we need to rest and allow our body to recover and built itself back up again.
  12. I have good days and bad. My wife and I have 5 batteries for our weed whackers. There are still days we can use up most of those batteries. Then other days it is all I can do to drag myself out of bed. We have to keep as active as we can. The less we do, the sicker we get sometimes. Sometimes we get instant healings, and sometimes we get slow, gradual healing over time. It is nice to go beyond what the doctors expect. So we keep praying, believing and expecting good things from God. Do our best to manifest as much good as we can accomplish.
  13. I am the same. I remember being able to do 100 sit-ups like it was nothing. We used to have to find ways to make it more difficult.
  14. Sometimes Bible college is just a lecture. They will teach a book. But my teacher training classes did not even have a book and there was a lot of homework. We were the ones that taught a lot of the class because we needed experience to get up in front of people. We mostly studied Jesus because He was the greatest teacher that ever lived. We use to have home churches and the teaching part was very short. It was mostly a fellowship and a chance for people to talk about the problems they were having, so we could pray for each other and help each other out. It became family: brothers, sister, mothers, fathers, sons & daughters.
  15. Why is that? If we rejoice in the Lord, we will be filled with Joy. It is when we grumble and complain with a negative attitude, then we have problems. Even the LOA people talk about how important it is to be positive and avoid being negative. There may be suffering and even misery, but when we see God's plan and purpose of redemption, we can rejoice and have joy in Him no matter what our circumstances are. That is the way God pairs people up. Even the angels. He puts together opposites. Often with people that we emulate and want to become like them. So we can learn from each other and grow in wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
  16. Perhaps you cannot see the forest for all the trees. The whole theme of the Old Testament is the attempt to destroy God people. We esp see this with Esther and how she saved the people. We see this in the Psalms, although this deals with Israel more than Judah her younger sister. Psalm 83 O God, do not keep silence; do not hold your peace or be still, O God! 2 For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have raised their heads. 3 They lay crafty plans against your people; they consult together against your treasured ones. 4 They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!” The principal of my high school was a holocaust survivor educated in Germany. His message was to keep up with the news and be aware of what is going on around you. He was able to escape before the Holocaust. He lived to be 100. This has always been the opinion - that the "Jewish" people were under attack because they were God's people.
  17. We know that God does not like it when people grumble and complain. We know that there is nothing better than worship and praise. Numbers16:31 As soon as Moses had finished saying all this, the ground beneath them split open, 32 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them and their households—all Korah’s men and all their possessions. 33 They went down alive into Sheol with all they owned. The earth closed over them, and they vanished from the assembly. This has always stuck in my mind. The people grumbled and complained, and God was so unhappy with them that the ground split open and swallowed them and then closed over them. I have seen this on the news. People are clawing at the ground trying to save their lost loved ones that were swallowed up in an earthquake. They get dogs to try to sniff them out and see if they can not get them out alive. When we worship and praise God from a pure heart, He puts His love in us. So we are able to love with His love in us.
  18. The longest I have fasted for, is three weeks. It does cleanse our system and I do feel closer with God. I know people who do 40 day fasts, but usually a week is enough. To lose weight, I have found that it works best to only eat one meal a day. This is a kind of fast, but it does not take advantage of the body not being hungry as you are in a regular fast. It is as if the body is designed for feasting and fasting, but we are not very good at controlling our portions and limiting ourselves the way science recommends.
  19. Did God not give us our "bellies" or our appetites? Are people not just doing what He created them to do. Although we are told, all of Creation longs to be redeemed. If that is the case, then this world is going to be a very different from the way it is now. 2 Timothy 2:12 if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us;
  20. Heart, mind, soul & strength. Jesus added to what Moses teaches because in the Hebrew: heart & mind are combined as one word. Deuteronomy 6:5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. Luke 10:27 He answered, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind' and 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Definition: the mind, disposition, thought Usage: mind, understanding, intellect, insight, reasoning
  21. Of course, this implies son's and daughters. I think you have to be a Christian for 40 years before you qualify as an elder. AS far as I know, they all believe in the Golden rule. Even religions that go back before Jesus. What does this mean? How are we to keep ourselves pure and unpolluted - undefined before God?
  22. My dad was an announcer in a movie theater because they used to give out prizes to get people to attend the movies. They paid him 35 cents an hour, and that was a LOT of money when everyone else was making 25 cents an hour. Of course, at one time you could buy land for 25 cents an acre, but you had to pay $2 taxes on it. The really big deal was when "The Wizard of Oz" movie came out in 1939. The movie started out in black and white, like all the others. But when Dorthy landed in the land of OZ the movie converts to color and there was a huge gasp in the audience when that happened. People had never seen color like that on the screen before. Even my baby photos from 1952 are in black and white. Back when television was getting it's start in Black and White.

  24. I can still by Raman noodles for 28 cents. Although some of the wal mart stores sell them for 33 cents. They sell a lot of those noodles. It works out to 200 per year for every man, women and child that is currently alive. The $1 microwave dinners sell for about $1.22. Freeze dried soup good for camping and traveling sells for around $3 but people have been buying them and reselling them for $12. So we need to be real careful about that. I personally don't need more than a dollar or two in food each day. So I tend to avoid items that the price has been jacked up like that. They use to have people scalping tickets for sporting events like that. I think it is considered to be illegal.
  25. Did you get an A in English Grammar? I started another thread about how engineers are known not to have a firm grasp on the English Language. That may be why new technology is difficult for some people to learn how to use. I have a smartwatch now that I use to make sure I get adequate oxygen when I am sleeping. It is amazing we can fit a computer into a watch like that. The old joke used to be, give me five minutes in a back alley with an engineer and I can fix a lot of the problems in this world. There are actually 5 sensors on the watch I have. It also gives me a fairly accurate EKG reading if I want it to. It tells me when to sleep more and when to slow down my breathing rate for less stress and anxiety. All in a watch. That is about a year old with some cosmetic damage so they sell for around $110 in this condition.
