  1. As gardeners will know, if you graft a different apple tree onto the root and trunk of another one, the grafted one bears the fruit. The fruit is from the grafted part. I am looking at my grafted apple tree in my garden as I type. something to think about?
  2. I disagree that God egged on Satan in any way. God set guidelines around what satan was allowed to do.
  3. As being saved/declared righteous by God means the sin was blotted out, I fail to see why anyone thinks it was carried over to be paid for in later life. It goes against all we know about redemption and forgiveness. Are you implying that Paul was so punished by others becasue of his previous sins before being born again?
  4. Please expand on why this is relevant? Our story begins after Job was called righteous, so why would his alleged past matter?
  5. I can understand that the seven churches have a figurative purpose and place in Revelations, but not that there was one type after another, each one in a particular place in history, each one being replaced by another, with us being in the Laodicean period of time now.
  6. I KNOW who he was. I am Jewish. It was always used in synagogues and Jewish seminaries.
  7. He expanded the Hebrew language for everyday use. That is all.
  8. the language was never extinct. Groups of Jewish people were never extinct.
  9. That is interesting, but not an answer to my question. Where is scripture to back up what you have written about a fig tree generation in the future from when it is written? The fig tree was talked about as being in the present tense, not a gap of 1850 years or so from writing the scripture.
  10. Great. May I ask from you what is your scripture saying that we are the fig tree generation? and when did that generation start?
  11. may I clarify - are you ok with continuing this discussion or not? I am wanting to respect your wishes.
  12. oh yes, I speak of the Pope as the central point and figurehead only.
  13. edited to respect @SONshine wishes. Peace and blessings to you
  14. this happened when the first Pope appeared, and carried on with successive Popes.
  15. one persons way of posting and communicating is not the same as anothers. We are not in a court of law, cross examining each other.
  16. discuss it with @JohnD His explanations are best.
  17. look at the definitions of the types of love used in the bible, and look up which words were used in various scriptures to see the meaning of the choice of love-word, and the whole passages to get the tones and intent. Just like with any reading comprehension exercise..
  18. Yes. I often think the irony is missed in many statements by Jesus and the Apostles. It helps if you read out loud ironic statements, particularly some of Pauls sentences.
  19. This is the point of disagreement. I do not accept that God cannot do what he wants. End.
  20. either Matthew 19 v 26 is true, or is not. Jesus did not lie, so it must be true. His plan, His choice. He did what he wanted to do, could do. The death of Jesus was what He wanted to make His plan work. He could have abandoned His plan, He could have not saved us. He could originally have made a different plan, or changed His plan at any time. God chose to enact His plan. He was not made to do it bey someone else, or by His inability to make another plan. Who do you think made God have to follow this path? Can you not see it was 100% Gods choice. God is the driving force here. He was not forced into a corner not of His choosing, making Him act a certain way. God was and is in control.
  21. why do you think that? it is the opposite. They had Eros love. Self centred.
  22. there is a very big different between what God can do, and what He, in His wisdom chooses to do. Jesus did not die on the the cross because God couldn't save Him.
  23. as you have left the second church some time, considering you also then attended another church afterwards, why do you feel compelled to go back to the second church, even just mentally to write a 'review'? Leave it God, in prayer, and move forward.
