I do not believe there is any such thing as an atheist. Mankind is hardwired to know God exists. I do believe there is a strong spirit of antichrist and have seen it become more and more prevalent over the years.

I can't watch movies like the exorcist or any gory movies--never have been able to. My wife loves the old black and white holiday movies. One of her favorites is 'The Bishop's Wife'. I like the part where the old guy's sherry glass stays full....hillarious. The skating scene is great, too. We like that one with Tim Allen and whatshername where they were going to go on a cruise or something and then the daughter comes home. Dan Akroyd is in it. Funny stuff.

Nice speakers! Alive is acting like a cricket and in wonderment while reading you guys.

Perhaps you misunderstand me...perhaps not. I just mean to say that it is possible that the supernatural powers behind the prophesied events will take the outward form of 'natural' things. Or perhaps, mankind will indeed see as the prophet opened eyes to see the chariots that day. I suspect all of the events of the 7 years will appear to be 'natural' cause up until the 'Day of the Lord'--when He appears with a loud shout and a trumpet sounding. I believe we are best served to have our 'eyes fixed on Him' rather than imaginary distractions. Just my opinions...I claim nothing more.

Ah, yes. I see.
-
Yes---you are correct.

Full disclosure and a repeat. I just don't know, because I wasn't there. I have looked at evidence from the different natural and historical sciences regarding the young/old earth and the flood and for me its up in the air. I think the scriptural record leaves room in this and other things. All of these play second and third fiddle to the 'Life' within. I think we are all going to be quite surprised about a lot of things when we 'know as we have been known'. Of that much, I am certain. :-)
-
Yup--I thought it kinda funny that you last posted the picture at the same time that I first mentioned the 'containment' thing. Like minds, I guess. I had not seen that picture or have I read the stuff at that site. I have a vague recollection of some alternate theories I read years ago. I have no skin in this game. :-) Actually--I am wrong. I did look at that site some years ago. Is that Ken Hamm and the young earth folks?

Let's envision a cataclysmic event for moment. Let's say that where the Mediterranean Sea is now was once a large dry plain. Let us also say that Gibraltar busted open and the Atlantic Ocean began to create a massive waterfall and began to fill the Med Plain. How long would it take before the water found its natural level? Or let's say that the ice sheets melted and a big plug had existed that kept those waters back, such as exists in Iceland. The plug let's go and a massive flood from a local source (the north) and rushed toward the region of Mesopotamia. What would that look like and how would it meet all the criteria in the scriptural record?
-
Yup--I saw that. Please consider again everything I have written about this. "To fit all of what the record says" One of those 'items' is the amount of time it took for the waters to recede, this discounts a violent local event from a water source of any natural kind, which would simply flow away and find a level based on surrounding terrain.

Thank you, but I don't need to read any more than what you pasted. Three possibilities exist regarding the flood controversy: The entire globe was flooded. The description in the Bible is exaggerated or largely metaphorical The Lord contained the water by His own hand within a defined area. I may have missed one--my brain doesn't work like it used to. I don't know which of these is accurate. I wasn't there and I have no witness of the Holy Spirit within me one way or the other. A proactive statement as follows: Someone stated recently in one of these threads---"if you can't know all of it, how can you know any of it". To that I reply--"I know what the Lord has revealed to me personally of Life and His existence". In ways that are quite supernatural. :-) I am not arguing for any view point. I am only poking some holes in one of them. Please don't assume any more than the words I type. I do choose my words carefully.

Please read the last few of my posts.

Why what?
-
Friend, I recall that. Show me any place on earth geographically where this could happen. Look at the map of he region of Ararat, please and then explain how this could happen. It is inconceivable.
-
Science/natural laws, right? Water flows and seeks to find its own level and will continue to do so unless contained. God could have intervened. Otherwise, a regional flood that fits all the info in the record (scripture), could not have happened. Where is this wrong?
-
In this case, one doesn't necessarily mean the other. Just sayin'.
-
Thank you for a measured response. :-) To be clear, I wasn't pointing at you--only making a general observation. If any of our comments hit 'home', so to speak--it is the Lord who does the work.
-
Have you ever sat beside a bubbling brook on the edge of a wood?
-
Sure--in general what you say makes sense to me. My larger point regards a predilection for the supernatural that many have...I am not sure this is necessarily a healthy thing. Whenever I have known individuals that leaned that way--there was difficulty. This has been my experience. Others' may vary.
-
Of course. Confess and forgiveness is there--always. There is little that flows as freely as forgiveness 'In Christ'.
-
Tell us what you really think. :-)
-
I understand this...I was pointing to the fact that these things are behind the curtain, so to speak. For the most part...one of the milestones the Lord brought me to many years ago while laying a foundation, was to show me just how real 'behind the scenes' is. His lesson to me that day and one other, was "this stuff is real". Since then no more and I was to focus on Him instead. Does that make sense?

Alive replied to Revlori's topic in Do you want to just ask a question?
Revlori---there is a calm to be found while in the storm. There are always seasons of storms. This is a normal part of life in these old bodies. Please know that you are under no condemnation because of them. He has promised us a great deal...one of those is that "all things work together for good to them that are called". The faith that He gives, is not overcome by the doubts and fears that are there at the same time. He will keep you and will calm the storm when it has accomplished its task. Nothing can touch you without His permission. This is the wonder of being 'In Christ'. -
All of this stuff that is looking for indicators of prophecy fulfillment. UFO's, technology, so called apparitions, the UN, etc. I think it is likely that all of these things are a distraction and not at all indicative of the Lord's return. It is not even a sure thing that there will be any one world government that has anything to do with anything. There is a great deal of talk about the 'supernatural' arising. I am not convinced that that sort of thing is at all what the scriptures point to. Perhaps those things will remain strictly behind the curtain, so to speak? Just as they are now and have been.
