  1. @Markesmith How do these verses prove that the AOD has already occurred? @missmuffet How do we know that the AOD is still a future event?
  2. Here is something to throw in the mix of conversation. I am actually looking forward to when we can send either a remote or manned mission to one of these ice planets to possibly drill under the surface to where there might actually be water and see if there is actually life under there. To me, if they do not discover life on an ice planet it could mean there is no chance of life on other planets as God only put life on this planet. Which would at the same time disprove the theory of evolution. https://www.businessinsider.com/nasa-discovers-ocean-dwarf-planet-ceres-could-host-life-2020-8
  3. The "garbage in, garbage out" idea completely holds true. I have listened to many different styles of music in the past and have noticed that when I listen to a song that has aggressive lyrics (in addition to the aggressive sounding music) I feel agitated and am more prone to get angry at things where if I was listening to something with more positive lyrics I may not react so badly. There is plenty of music that I used to listen to that had great rhythm and melody but still had some negative lyrics that I don't listen to anymore. Part of the reason I used to listen to that music was that it was better produced, and was more artistic than contemporary Christian music. Christian has come a long way and is much easier to listen to as there are now plenty of very talented groups that make songs that are not only produced well, but also have lyrics that have a positive message.
  4. Seems a bit overboard for a small church. We have been meeting since the middle of May. We do space ourselves every other row. Most people wear masks when not sitting down in their pew. We still take communion, though it has been modified a bit. They put the wine and grape juice in small cups with lids on them and put a small wafer on top that we go get from the table up front and carry it back to our seats before partaking together. Not singing seems ridiculous to me, though I know the governor of California banned it for churches in that state. Honestly, as long as you are standing a good distance from another person you should be able to talk, sing, whatever without a problem.
  5. Interesting thought for those facing the death penalty. God has His own timing, and knows all things. So, if someone was properly tried and convicted of a crime that carries the death penalty as the consequence with sufficient, untampered, evidence should we just guess as to how long we should wait before carrying out the sentence? Arguably, God has sufficient time to call that individual to Himself. It could be evidence that God has not called, and may never call, that person so carrying out that sentence would still fall within God's law.
  6. There are people today that break the same kinds of laws, as many of our laws, specifically ones surrounding the consequences of crime, are based on God's law. I do agree the laws that are unbiblical, and unethical should not be adhered to.
  7. While I agree with most of what you say I do have to clarify something you are saying when it comes to people kill other people. Now in the case of abortion, I agree that it is completely wrong. However, when we are talking about the death penalty, there is biblical support (Old Testament) where those who have been convicted of violent crimes (which would include rape, murder, etc...) have forfeited their lives, and those whose job it is to exact justice are not considered committing murder as a result. Some consider capital punishment barbaric and an antiquated way of dealing with certain types of crime, but I propose that we would have less violent crime if capital punishment was used more often and with greater frequency (meaning sooner after conviction than waiting years while the convict sits on death row).
  8. Jonah 3:1-4 Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, "Arise, go to Nineveh the great city and proclaim to it the proclamation which am going to tell you." So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three day's walk. Then Jonah began to go through the city one day's walk; and he cried out and said, "Yet forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown." The first time frame referenced is how long it would take for Jonah to get to Nineveh from where he was vomited out of the fish/whale. The second time frame was how long it took him to walk through the city.
  9. Chapter 3 indicates that Nineveh has a 3 day's walk from where he ended up. Not a day. The time it took for him to walk through the city was one day's walk.
  10. Why, indeed.
  11. Catholics believe in the Immaculate Conception which suggests that Mary became perfect when Jesus was placed in her womb. There is also no scriptural support for this either.
  12. The whole concept of praying to saints is rather pointless, quite frankly. God is omnipresent and omnipotent, which means He is not too busy to hear our prayers. That is really what praying to Mary or the saints is really suggesting.
  13. There are twelve tribes in the nation of Israel. One of those tribes was Judah, that is the tribe from which we get the term "Jew". Since Moses was of the tribe of Levi he was not a Jew, he was a Levite.
  14. Ah, so you are Roman Catholic, and militant to boot. I see where this is going.
  15. Have you ever studied church history?
  16. Do you watch the news? Doesn't really matter what news source you watch as it is there. Every day. All the time. CNN, MSNBC, CBS, etc... are constantly blaming aspects of how this virus outbreak is being handled on Trump, even though it is the individual governors that are actually responsible for how each state handles the cases. Organizations like OAN and Daily Wire are constantly highlighting how Trump is being treated by liberals, along with how health organizations are constantly being shown as inflating case and fatality numbers related to this disease.
  17. Then you are not paying attention, as this is very real and happening right in front of everyone. The effort to destroy our current president is as real as the virus itself.
  18. Theology is the study of God's word. There are plenty examples of how people have come to the wrong conclusion when studying the bible. Reformed theology is one approach to the study of God's word which has its roots in the Reformation which was started by Martin Luther. The reason that word is used is Martin Luther endeavored to re-form the way the bible was studied and information from its teachings was shared. Prior to the Reformation only priests were allowed to tell you what the bible said, while Martin Luther changed all of that by translating the bible into the common language so anyone would be able to read it. The main reason there is "bad" theology is because those who share it are not blessed by the Holy Spirit, therefore, they are sharing false interpretations. Reformed theology, for the most part, is an effort to more rightly interpret what the bible teaches by more faithfully seeking the Holy Spirit's guidance in studying the bible.
  19. No one is saying the virus doesn't exist. It is unfortunate that many people have been adversely affected by it. Whether physically, emotionally, economically, professionally... The list goes on. It is also real that there are people using this plandemic to undermine our current president and ultimately attempt to derail his campaign for reelection, along with his attempts at bring this country back from being the doormat it has been for decades. Hopefully, over time you will recover from your bout with disease, while at the same time this country recovers from the evil that is attacking it from multiple fronts.
  20. That'll be up to God. I won't have any control over when and where, but hopefully it will be before all the real stuff starts happening.
  21. This coming election will not see The AntiChrist appear. That is a long way off. Hopefully, those events will happen after I am dead and buried.
  22. Just want to throw this out there. When you look at every hotly contested presidential race there is usually a media fueled fear campaign surround a recent outbreak of some sort of illness. It pretty much happens every four years. Of course they are going to use this plandemic to undermine Trump's reelection attempt. They are using this to push mail in voting, which will be the biggest voter fraud event in our lifetime. The Dems know that if voter IDs are required at the polls they will not be able to inflate votes for Biden as well as they can with just mail in voting. IMHO the Dems have a lot of blood on their hands with everything that has been going on this year.
  23. Even after the previous responses anyone doubts the path they need only ponder this: Man is fallible, God is infallible. So, man is prone to sin, including lying and deceit, while God keeps His promises and is completely trustworthy to complete His Holy Will. What conclusion should we take from this?
  24. On the one hand the bible suggests we should treat our bodies like a temple. On the other there are plenty of examples of people throughout the bible indulging in alcoholic drink as long as they do it in excess. That being said, there are plenty of studies that indicate that vaping is actually a worse alternative to smoking, as thongs who have smoked and quit can actually see a full recovery over time in regard to the damage caused to the lungs, should they quit soon enough. However, vaping has been known to cause irreparable harm to the lungs (look up popcorn lung). Sure, when they first came out they were saying it was simply harmless water vapor, but manufacturers are able to put some pretty bad things in stuff you put in those contraptions. I, personally have smoked cigarettes (briefly), cigars, and pipe (not mj). I tent to lean toward the pipe or cigar as they are usually not inhaled the way cigarettes and vaping pens are. Of course the downside to those is mouth cancer, not just lung cancer like with cigarettes. So, it is possible to cause irreparable harm to your body, which is a sin; but it is possible to do some of these things without running into those dangers (moderation is important). I have never vaped, nor will ever want to try it. I will stick to the occasional cigar or pipe.
