  1. This could be true. The 12 apostles did pretty much stick with Jew's, while Paul was chosen to go to Gentiles.
  2. I have. I attended a shul for a few years way back. Personally I began to wait for the Lord's supper part after at least an hour of Rabbinic ritual. I think a lot of Christians are attracted to it because they are keeping a sacrament. Which the historical liturgical Churches keep. They just do not realize it. I just happened to realize it one day because of the prayer of being sanctified for keeping those things, like the Sabbath etc. "Blessed are You, Lord our G‑d, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us to kindle the light of the holy Shabbat." Nobody seems to know where this originated. These things do not make the lord's supper a Passover seder. It stands on it's own as his seder he gave us. 1 cor 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. {in … : or, for a remembrance } 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
  3. What is not anarchy? You haven't given any kind of government you want. I told you what nationalism is to me. I am a Christian. Then I am a Christian and a nationalist. I don't agree with your version of it. Well then I don't know what else you would prefer for a nation and government. Belong to? Whatever you decide that means. I as a christian agree with them concerning human nature. Therefore a system that mitigates it. Belong to is not a useful word to describe it IMO. But I think it has a purpose for your thoughts. Mind sharing? You obey laws. That is good. What kind of nation and law that flows from it do you look to? So while you are here, what kind of nation is it you want to live in while you are here? You are crickets on that. All you leave is anarchy as an option. Thank you for sharing as well.
  4. Well thanks. At my age that might be short lived LOL
  5. You have more "formal" teaching than I. 10th grade was as far as I went, I did years later get my GED. So I have no formal training. Just bible study pretty much on my own. We all contribute to each other here. Whether we find ourselves in agreement or disagreement we all help each other in it. IMO.
  6. Yeah, but it is about timing here. The law prophesies about those who undergo punishment for their sins. It is of long endurance. It comes at intervals, each pause waits (patience of God) for repentance. Then comes another wave of punishment for those which do not repent. This is for Israel (deut and Lev.) Gentiles are not involved here, but are spoken of when he is DONE punishing them. The nations from the start were judged right from Egypt on. How they responded to Israel was the standard. The nations they passed by were to sell them food and water as they passed by.... Deut 23:3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever: 4 Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee. Even the wicked nations to be destroyed (7 of them at that time) De 20:10 When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it. De 20:11 And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee. De 20:12 And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it: When you think about it, a similar thing went on with Pharaoh. At the beginning it was a three day journey, to offer sacrifices to their God. Implying they would be back.... Ex 5:3 And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days’ journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword. Even this was to not offend. Ex 8:26 And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us? I believe what you always see with the nations....Giving them no cause for their response. They harden their hearts, or God does it because he wants to destroy them? Either way GOD IS A JUST JUDGE. As Abraham knew. Gen 23 ¶ And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? 24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? 25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? 26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes. 27 And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, which am but dust and ashes: 28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, If I find there forty and five, I will not destroy it. We know the end of this exchange.. 10 32 And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten’s sake. It will be so when the time of Judgment on the nations. But first Israel is punished that have not escaped it. Those nations that provided that punishment will also receive theirs. We in Christ will escape the judgement coming on our nations. That is how I see it anyway. Whenever and however it is....a stark warning.. So while Abraham got it to ten men. See Ezekiel. 14:12 The word of the LORD came again to me, saying, 13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it: 14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD. 15 If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts: {spoil: or, bereave } 16 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate. 17 Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it: 18 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered themselves. 19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast: 20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their own souls by their righteousness.
  7. so what about Johns preaching to Israel? Ma 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Joh 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. Joh 18:9 That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, Of them which thou gavest me have I lost none.
  8. As was my response. see below Nationalism to me is the same as patriotism. I reject the above description. Nationalism is looking at our founding fathers and what they did and why....I believe this nation on that end is the greatest so far. Due to one solid "Christian notion" the nature of humanity period. There as Christians we should know our equality on a very base level. Nothing good from our flesh equally. This is quite different than "equity" we hear about now. Yeah, political activism is a feature of Marxism, communism, etc. Even Anarchy. It comes down to WHAT KIND OF NATION the individual wants. Well, God, Christ were not anarchists either. So let's get upfront and real here. Let us know what nationalism each is speaking of, to and for.... Anarchy for all? So what is your flavor?
  9. Yes, you are. Hamas is the government the palestinians voted in. They are the ones in the streets in sipport of what their government (hamas) is doing. Hrom the river to the sea, and will do again and again.
  10. About that. One gospel phrases this in an interesting manner. Mt 11:13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. ****Even NOW BEFORE I bring them into the land..... We see in the law (lev. and deut.) prophetic utterances of wrath and cursing that will come upon Israel. Do we see this as part and parcel of the law being fulfilled? If not, why not? Before they even went into the land it was prophesied that they would break the covenant. Deut. 31:19 Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel. 20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant. 21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware. {against: Heb. before } {go … : Heb. do } 22 ¶ Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel. John's baptism, an escape from the wrath prophesied in the law..... Mt 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Lu 3:7 Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?u 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. Joh 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. When we read these Gospels do we read it as the wrath prophesied in the law was coming? And Christ was a way of escape? Whan we read the prophets do we read the corresping prophesies coming to pass as spoken in the law? Or do we tend to read the prophetic utterances in the prophets of the remnant that escapes it? Two different groups there. Two different outcomes. The apostles were the remnant that escaped it AT THAT TIME, with John's baptism of repentance, preparing the way of escape in Christ. Therefore the Apostles, especially the apostles to the Jew's, being first. They were in a race to save Jew's of that prophetic wrath foretold in the law to those under the law. Gentiles are also spoken of in these utterances. But it comes after he done with Israel. Based upon how we treated Isreal....Do we see this as part and parcel of the law being fulfilled? If not,why not?
  11. We are not talking about the body of christ. This thread is about nationalism. As Christians yes, we should strive against the flesh. When it comes to government we as Christians should know what the flesh is about. Nothing good. And do the best we can with that. I think this nation has done well with that foundation. And all our hypocrisy, and evil done in our past should simply serve a solid foundation to not forget the wickedness all men are capable of. Today I see what I believe attempts to think more highly of that nature, in criticizing our past failures. They are past, and corrected. What other system men dream will make all things good is IMO a fools errand. Lu 18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
  12. The Lord's supper is the seder from Christ.
  13. When we look at history, let it be a solid reminder of the reason why our country had term limits for political office, as well as balance of power. I think it is a much greater danger when people think of human nature more highly than they ought. Which many critics seem to do today.
  14. Have you ever noticed the difference between the blessing of Israel to his twelve sons, and the blessing of Moses on the same? Maybe this is why? What shall befall them in the last days Ge 49:1 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.
  15. The world it seems loves Hamas and Palestinians. They are their victims.
