  1. So you're saying the "New Jerusalem" is not a place within the world but the world itself? In any event, man has sought to explore the stars for as long as he developed the concept of doing so, and this would make being forever confined to this world with no chance of fulling dreams of doing -or being- anything else a dismal thing for many.
  2. I certainly hope so!
  3. It never is, always just a problem with mental illness and done by someone well known to the police.
  4. I've considered the same things quite a bit, but lately I've been tempering them with the knowledge that there were about 200 million in the entire world at that time and written for understanding by a population of people that was probably substantially smaller the the total world population of the time. Today there are somewhere around 8 billion people in the world, and even a large city by itself can hold only a small percent of the overall population of a nation (a country today, not a people as then) but. still, the entire nation can be completely entwined with the functioning of that city so I have to consider that a major city alone cannot be separated from the country it is in and if one falls the other does as well. This makes me wonder at what that particular Babylon of the end times will actually be to have the effect on the world that its fall will have. It may be a city in the Middle East that is yet to come into being instead of one that is already established for all I know.
  5. I don't know, and I doubt anyone else does either. But hopefully, it's not being locked in a big box with no way out and nowhere else to go if there were.
  6. This is an interesting subject to meditate on, maybe particularly for those talking of the signs we are claiming to be seeing today. But that may be a stretch, so it should be kept to the things we meditate on to gain greater insight and not to be argued over.
  7. Few people care to examine the events and developments leading up to the Russian invasion and address the underlying causes of it, so there will be no solution found short of the total destruction of the war making capability of one side or the other along with its loss of the will to make war along with the ability to do so. This can happen in several ways.
  8. Trying to make it impossible for people to do evil because it does not address the ever increasing numbers of people who want to do evil or why they want to. It may, of course, be illegal to talk about the cause of this in public venues of any significance in this country and you might end up tossed in jail if you try to.
  9. Being able to see the horizon and reaching it are different things. If you start walking toward the horizon, how long does it take to get there? This is something that must be considered when thinking about the nearness of the Tribulation and return of Christ to earth as its ruler. As Martin Luther is often attributed to having said when asked about what he would do knowing the end would come tomorrow, "I would plant my apple tree today."
  10. Men are not missing a rib, and what was taken was not necessarily a rib as such, a whole one, and it is interesting to note that a rib can regrow itself a bit like like a chameleons tail can regrow itself.
  11. So you still contend he wasn't talking to Jews, but I find no evidence that he wasn't. Are there no Jews today in your view of things? I contend that he was talking to Jews alone, he never ministered to the Gentiles and never mentioned them as being the ones who would be hated of all men in the end. I just can't accept your view as truth here, Jesus was a Jew who came for the Jews directed his teachings to them in a manner that would be understood by them, not to other peoples. In fact, the bible likens other people to dogs at a table eating scraps Mat 15:24-28 "He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But she came and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, help me.” And he answered, “It is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table.” Then Jesus answered her, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed instantly."
  12. So we end up locked up in a giant prison? That doesn't sound appealing to me, not appealing at all.
  13. Sorry, but I can't see the parable of the fig tree, said to Jews in Israel, to mean that he was talking to gentiles and such thousands of years in the future. Actually, I don't find any records of Jesus teaching to anyone but Jews and very little interaction at all with any gentiles. So I remain unswayed in my questioning and my doubts about it.
  14. A scriptural quotation (the one you are using to determine this)?
  15. Where did he state that and indicate it was not the Jews he was talking to that he was talking to?
  16. Just a sort of observation, make of it what you will, he was talking to Jews at the time, there were no "Christians" yet, not until after the Pentecost. Do you think we will see a time come when the Jews are hated of all men?
  17. I would look toward the solar eclipse as seen in Israel and the Mideast rather than as seen in the United States as being possibly prophetic if prophetic at all, and that won't happen till 2200 or so from what I understand. But I also don't try to read prophecy into everything that happens in an astrological sense, I consider it as something that should be done. But who knows, maybe things are different than the seem.
  18. Well, that may be true, however I've seen predictions of imminent fulfillment based on curret events for nearly eight decades and they have all turned out to be wrong. I'm no prophet, but I look at things like Daniel's 70 weeks being claimed to be scattered out over thousands of years with nothing in the scripture saying they would be and I just have a hard time making predictions based on current events. So in the end, while I actually believe things will happen during the lifetime of a generation alive today, I just don't know and have to concentrate on living my life in dedication to the dealings of today instead putting them on hold and dedicating it to concentrating events which will come sometime in the future and probably after I have departed the scene.
  19. If it takes volumes to say it, you don't understand it. The way I see things.
  20. Not wrong anymore that each blind man was wrong about his view of the elephant being true and the other blind men's view wrong. How would you see it, your part of the elephant as such?
  21. Well, time will tell. At least to someone, maybe someone unwilling to share it with others.
  22. Each yoked to the same yoke but on different sides of it is not an unequally yoked, marriage itself it the yoke and both husband and wife are equally yoked and bound to it..
  23. Is this leading toward America being Babylon the Great? I don't discount the possibility, but I don't discount the possibility that Babylon the Great is something yet to come after America falls or that America is just a part of.
