Time may not work the same in God's world as it is perceived to work in man's world. I don't think it can be derived from the Bible how long Israel will stand after it -and Jerusalem- are restored. It could be months from now or hundreds of years from now. Personally I think it could be soon, but I don't predict it will be since I am not privileged to know what God's intentions and plans for the timing of it are.

I aoriginally asked about your purpose, you have not stated it yet. The things you say would go over much better on a New Age or secular forum of some type, are you posting them on those types of forums as well or just in Christian forums where you know they will not be well received by most? This is looking more and more like a deliberate attempt to introduce doubt and false doctrine into the Church than anything that would make it stronger and more meaningful to its members, is this what you are doing?

This is something I have puzzled over within myself for a long time since we are told by Jesus himself that we can do all of the things he did and more. What does this mean? I find people answering that usually make excuses for why we can't but never actually delve into what he meant by this or why he said it. I would think Holy Spirit would have to figure into this somewhere, but I always find myself at a loss to understand it in any sort of real world way. I always end up wondering to myself why Jesus would say such a thing if it weren't true and if is is true why it seems so far removed from real life. I can only come up with some assorted ideas but no actual answers.

I can't accept that argument since God gave us the ability to commit all sorts of sins yet also gave us the commandments and other laws telling us not to commit them. (i.e. God gave us the ability to worship other gods, rob, steal kill, commit adultery, etc. but that does not mean it is a sin not to commit them) Do you have a scriptural basis for, as I see it, trying to dispute the Bible and the stories it gives us as truth and encourage others to do the same?

I feel something is missing in my Christian life

They say we are what we eat (so stay away from Fruit Loops with Marshmallows). -
Not your place to judge, but maybe your place to educate. I see far too much discussion about scripture and prophecy to the point of getting in fights with each other and far too little about the practical aspects of living as a Christian on a daily basis, the how to of it and such. That's what Jesus did, concentrated on teaching living by the word instead of just sitting around a temple and discussing the word and its esoteric meanings instead.

It is that, but it is much more as well. I've used it to write code for sophisticated control circuits using an Arduino and create poster art complete with captions for posters all from just a short description of what I wanted. Much more of a creative nature, such as writing fiction or stating philosophical or even mathematical expressions or even developing connections between various types of theoretical physics concepts as well. A search engine alone cannot do that. But it will still require significantly detailed, thoughtful, and relevant inputs to get the output you are seeking.

That's assuming God has no say so in the matter. Things may end up working out differently than we imagine they will.

Is There Fear Of God In The Church, And If So, How Is It Cleansing Hearts?
FJK replied to Mr. M's topic in General Discussion
Seems to me the modern Church, the Church of Accommodation, is doing the opposite. And the traditional Church doesn't seem to be speaking out very loudly against it when speaking about it at all. But, maybe I'm wrong about that and it's just from my vantage point, from where I'm viewing it, that it looks that way and it's different elsewhere. -
Why speculate about them, I think we'll find out what they are pretty soon anyway.

How We Are All Different From Unbelievers?, How We Are All Alike

I suppose each has to come to his own understand in his own time as God reveals more and more to us as we mature in him and make ourselves ready for it. -
How We Are All Different From Unbelievers?, How We Are All Alike

I don't understand how anyone would think otherwise. Does scripture not say each will be judged according to their works, their deeds, by an impartial God? -
Sometimes -I wish it was all times- before I post I find it a good idea to wait a minute or so and reread what I have written then ask myself: "Is there a nicer or kinder way I can say this?" or "Do I need to say anything at all about this?". It is said that you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar and I always try to keep that i mind even though I have a strong tendency to post before thinking. When in conflict with another maybe that's not a bad idea for everyone to consider. I see many calling themselves Christian throwing scripture back and forth at each other in hostility the same way enemies soldiers might throw spears at each other. While I do not have the authority to judge this, I do see it as building discord within the Church, the body of Christ. instead of harmony. Just my thoughts s of late, maybe nothing of value for anyone but myself. I know this is a judgmental thing to say. but I feel a need to say it anyway. May the Lord bless and guide all of us in all that we do and say this day.

I think many of the unbelievers we find here and on other Christian forums may be unconsiously (or even consciously) seeking a reason to believe in something other than what they profess to be believing in as they post. This should not be overlooked as a means of bringing the gospel to those who are seeking something to believe in other than themselves. Just my thinking, not professing it, just thinking about it.

I see the world only through my own eyes, can you point out those conservative values you see represented in her so I can see them through yours as well?

Some things just don't make sense to me, such as I just read that February saw the largest mumbler of layoffs (for February) in 15 years yet we are also being told of a severe labor shortage and a need to import workers from poorly developed countries to counter it. Maybe I'm among those who have no idea how the economy works.

What would be your reasons for that, what values does she represent that would lead you you to wanting her over other candidates as President?
