In some of the stories when God's people were few in comparison to the enemy, God confused -- THE ENEMY -- and THE ENEMY -- destroyed one another, all but winning the battle against themselves FOR God's people. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but is a spiritual battle. And ever since there has been enternet, there has been the battle to determine which denomination of "Christianity" is the correct one, a battle waged by debate. In truth, I tell you that reading posts by all those who argue their point according to traditional academics is loudest roar of confusion that I have ever heard. And they are only destroying themselves, while thinking that they do God a good service.

The time will come ...... There will be .... both are phrases in the verses you identified. That sort of time had not yet come at the time the books were written. Therefore the verses speak of the future in relation to the days in which they were written. That means it was written down to warn us today, when we see these things taking shape before our very eyes. Shadow made the comment that we are letting the people slip through our fingers. And He is right. Since God is only going to save the remnant of the church that we know, it is time that we all realized that everyone in the Church who is not part of the remnant is part of the deceived. The deceived are the tares spoken of in the parables of the kingdom. And EVERY religious congregation is filled with them, because they were taught by false prophets for generation after generation after generation. Every tree, congregation, that does not produce good fruit will be cut down in it's entirity. And no amount of debate will prove the scriptures wrong about it. Right on! And notice that it is the results of the fulfilling of this verse and others like it. Idol, Yeshua Christ could not do many mighty works among his own because they did not believe him. The Holy Spirit does not baptize our thoughts in the name of Yeshua Christ until after we repent, deliberaely shunning those who refuse to repent sin. Those who refuse to repent sin are not our brothers!

I agree that we are all working on this issue to some degree, but what I am addressing here are those that don't appear to be even trying to 'crucify their flesh every day'. They don't seem to be busy 'working out' their salvation, but just carrying on in worldly things like anybody else. Are you challenging all at Worthy Boards to overcome the carnal mind? I would have to agree. We have to daily crucify our flesh. It is something we fight everyday. Sometimes we win, and sometimes unfortunately we give in. We are in a process of sanctification. If we didn't have that carnal side, there would be no carnal thoughts or habits to be sanctified from. I also agree. Individually, we easily fall prey to the sin that so easily besets us. But when all members of the household are battling carnal mindedness in one accord, the household takes on a new lifestyle. That is - until they are out among those who do not battle carnal mindedness, where that sin again so easily besets us. It has to do with speaking with the new tongue that is one of the signs that follow the believer of Christ.

Hello! A catagory that I perceive is that of habitually considering spiritual informaton from the natural viewpoint. It is sort of like the Doctor who overlooks the true cause of sickness because he stopped looking when he found the possible cause.

Very nicely done you all. One Accord, this is what I had been hoping for with the Matthew threads. I do so wish that I had not had to go back on the road and miss participating in this study. But I will definitely not miss reading it.

My comments about the be attitudes were in the Matthew 5 thread. It is very nice to discover that we all agree, having basicly the same understanding. But it is not enough to know these things. What is necessary is that we live these things moment by moment.

Yes, sin, doubt and unbelief, did it, which includes me. And Yeshua permitted it to show us that we have doubt and unbelief. Then it is up to us to repent and be baptized in his name.

The spliting of the veil is to reveal the root cause of sin. The priests were expert in Mosaic law, and the priests were his strongest opposition. They knew the letter of the law, but they did not understand the spirit of the law. Therefore, they worsipped much like organized religion in general attempts to worship God today, according to the letter of the law, but not in spirit and truth. Yeshua bore our sin in the form of the curse of death that our sin placed on him. Our sin was to ignore Yeshua, so that we could listen to the doctrines of a house devided against itself.
