I dont thnk i can go through the trial required of me
Jedi4Yahweh replied to Figure of eighty's topic in General Discussion
Brother/sister, most of the trials and temptations we face will be alone. We all go though various trails and temptations. The scriptures say they are designed to test our faith. The scriptures' also say that God will not allow you to be tempted with something you can not overcome and he always provides a way out. So bear that in mind when you are faced with temptations and trials knowing the those trials and temptations can not overpower you unless you alone allow them and that God rewards those who overcome trials and temptations. Jesus taught us that we should continually pray that we that we do not give into temptation because our flesh is weak. So, I have found that praying daily and asking God to protect me from sinning and to give me strength to overcome temptations and trails has been critical to overcoming temptations. I have noticed when I fail to pray as I ought that my flesh becomes weak and more prone to giving into temptations. I encourage you to pray everyday and ask God to keep you from giving into temptations and sin. I promise if you earnestly pray for this, God will answer. Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak. - Mat 26:41 KJV There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it]. - 1Co 10:13 KJV -
You mentioned some Egyptians joined themselves among Israel and put their faith in God. This is something that many people do not understand. Most Christians think Israelites were only composed of natural born Hebrew children but this was not the case. Many foreigners joined themselves to Israel. As you mentioned when Israel left Egypt many foreigners joined and left with them. God made provisions to allow foreigners to join Israel and its covenant. Ruth is a good example of a foreigner who joined herself to the Jewish people and became the grandmother of King David and Jesus. Israel was a nation of both natural born and foreigners whom joined themselves to Israel and to their their covenant and laws. Being an Israelite or Jew is more about obedience to the covenant than it was being a natural descendant. In fact, if you were a natural born Israelite but did not keep covenant and its laws you were not considered Israelite and were cut off from Israel and its promises.

SANCTIFIED through Christ once and for all.
Jedi4Yahweh replied to Light Bearer's topic in General Discussion
What I think your eluding to is that once your sanctified you can no longer become unsanctified no matter what (Once Saved Always Saved). I don't believe scriptures agree with that in fact if you continue to read just a few verses later in same passage (Heb 10: 26-31). It clearly says if we continue willfully sin after we have received the knowledge of truth and were sanctified then there remains no more sacrifice but a fearful judgement. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance [belongeth] unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. [It is] a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. - Heb 10:26-31 KJV Peter confirms this: For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known [it], to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: "A dog returns to his own vomit," and, "a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire." - 2Pe 2:20-22 NKJV -
What Y'shua (Jesus) said goes right along with what he said in the beginning, "if you love me keep my commandments." Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations, - Deu 7:9 ESV God equates love with action/obedience not some fuzzy emotion or some cheap lip serve, but obedience to his commandments. Listen to what Apostle John said: For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. - 1Jo 5:3 ESV And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it. - 2Jo 1:6 ESV Also in another passage he said its by our obedience that confirms if we know him or not. And by this we know that we have come to know him, IF we keep his commandments. Whoever says "I know him" but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, - 1Jo 2:3-4 ESV People who go around saying, "Yes I know God, he knows my heart" but live in willful disobedience to his commandments are liars and the truth "Y'shua" is not in them.

I don't agree that these 10 kings have already come and gone. It says the 10 kings will not have a kingdom yet receive power as kings. This does not describe the 10 kings in the article that did have kingdoms. Scriptures is clear that these 10 kings will rule and reign as one kingdom that gives its authority to the beast just before return of Messiah. This sounds more like a international governing body like the United Nations who has no kingdom but rule like kings. And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. ... These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him [are] called, and chosen, and faithful. - Rev 17:12, 14 KJV

Profile of the Anti-Messiah: He will rise to power among the 10 kings of the restored Roman Empire/United Nations/World Confederation composed of 10 Kings [Daniel 7:24; Rev 13:2 / Daniel 7:7] He will subdue three of the 10 confederated kings [Daniel 7:8, 24] He will be different from the other 10 kings [Daniel 7:24] He will rise from obscurity…a “little horn” [Daniel 7:8/Dan 11.21-24] He will be denied royal honor at first [Dan 11:21] He will speak boastfully and promise great things [Daniel 7:8; Rev 13:5] He will appear to have survived a fatal injury [Rev. 13:3; 17:8] He will be the next single World Leader and all the world leaders/kings will submit to him [Rev 17.10] He will not answer to a higher earthly authority; “He will do as he pleases” [Daniel 11:36] He will show no regard for the religion of his ancestors [Daniel 11:37] He will not honor any god at all[except for himself (secular humanist) [Daniel 11:37] He will have "no regard for the desire of women": He will either be asexual or homosexual [Dan 11:37] He will claim to be greater than any god [Daniel 11:37; 2 Thess 2:4] He will claim to be God [2 Thessalonians 2:4] He will only honor a “god” of military/power. His whole focus and attention will be in his military conquest. He will conquer lands and will give loot to those who acknowledge and honor him [Daniel 11:39-44] He will oppress and make war against the saints and be successful for 3 ½ years [Daniel 7:25; Rev 13:7] He will blaspheme God, [Daniel 7:25; 11:36; Rev 13:5] slandering His Name, dwelling place, and departed Christians and Old Testament saints [Rev 13:6] He will try to change the calendar, perhaps to define a new era, related to himself [Daniel 7:25] He will try to change the laws, perhaps to gain an advantage for his new kingdom and era [Dan 7:25] He will use deception/deceitfulness to conquer nations and to get what he wants [Dan 8:24-25/Dan 11:21-24] He will confirm a covenant with “many”, i.e. the Jewish people [Daniel 9:27] This covenant will likely involve the establishment of a Jewish Temple in Jerusalem [see Dan 9:27; Matt 24:15] He will put an end to Jewish sacrifice and offerings after 3 ½ years and will set up an abomination to God in the Jewish Temple [Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15] He will be accompanied by a world spiritual leader (False Prophet/Second Beast) which makes the whole world worship the World Leader (First Beast) [Rev 13:11-12] False prophet (Second Beast) will perform deceiving signs and miracles even calls down fire from the sky in front of people [Rev 13: 11-14/2Thes 2.9] False prophet (Second Beast) will make a statue in honor of the World Leader and cause the statue to speak and will put to death any who will not worship the statue. [Rev 13:11-14] False prophet (Second Beast) will cause all people to receive a mark on their right hand or forehead and without it they will not buy or sell. [ Rev 13:16-18] Either he, or The False Prophet, will claim to be the promised Messiah [Matt 24:21-28] He will claim that Jesus did not come in the flesh, or that Jesus did not rise bodily from the grave [2 John 7]. He will deny that Jesus is the Messiah [I John 2:22] He will be worshipped/honored by all people & nations [except those who follow and obey God] [Rev. 13:8] He will hate a nation that initially had control over his kingdom, but he will destroy this nation/Possibly USA? [Rev 17:16-18] He will be empowered by the devil himself [Rev. 13:2] He will not be succeeded by another earthly ruler, but by Christ himself [Daniel 7:26-27] Note: Most of this list was complied by someone else, but I modified this list some and added few new items. Feel free to add anything missed. https://www.deltonalakes.org/hp_wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/15-The-27-Characteristics-of-the-AntiChrist-4-20-16.pdf

Ezekiel 18 1-4: Everyone is responsible for their own sins/wickedness not their fathers or children. Just because you grew-up in a Christian home or your a member of a godly church will not save you if you continue to live a sinful life. You will be judged by your own actions. 5-9: A righteous person who does these things will live and have eternal life: - Does not server false gods or idols. - Does not commit sexual sins. - Does not oppress/harm/treat others badly. - Returns what they borrows and does not keep people's security deposit (honesty) - Does not rob/steal from others (theft) - Feeds those who are hungry and provides for those in need (cares for others) - Does not lend for excessive profit (extorting others). - Refuses to do evil/wickedness (does what is right) - Judges everyone fairly (does not show partiality or favoritism) - Lives by God's Instructions found in his word faithfully. (obeys the Word of God which Messiah taught) 10-13: Wicked children of Righteous parents: Your parents righteousness will not save you from eternal death. Just because you grew up in a godly Christian home and go to a godly church will not save you if you choose live in unrighteousness. 13-20: Everyone will be judged by their own actions: "The righteousness deeds of a righteous person will be his own, and wickedness of the wicked person will be their own (v20). 21-23: Repentance: If a wicked person turns from their wicked deeds and learns to live rightly according to God's instructions, they will be forgiven and will not die. All their wicked and rebellious deeds they did in past will not be remembered (forgiven). He will live because he turned/repented from sin/wickedness and now does and lives rightly. 24-28: Backsliders: If a righteous person turns from living rightly and turns to live in sin and wickedness, then all the righteous things this person did will not be remembered (forgotten) only the wicked things they did will be remember and will die eternally. 29-32: Each us will be judged by what we do as an individual. If we choose to live in sin we will die but if we choose to live rightly according to God's instructions then we will live eternally. God is a forgiving and merciful God and always patient willing to forgive if we choose to turn from our wickedness and choose to live rightly. God does not want anyone to die but that all would repent and live rightly according to his law. Don't think just because you grew up in a Christian home or because you go to a good church that those will save you it is by your own deeds that you will be judged if you live or die eternally. -------------- Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment. - Jhn 5:28-29 ESV "Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' Then they also will answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?' Then he will answer them, saying, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.' And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." - Mat 25:41-46 ESV The Lord is not slack concerning [His] promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. - 2Pe 3:9 NKJV

Yes, I agree that stumbling and backsliding are different. Stumbling is where one falls into sin but immediately realizes his/her guilt and repents. On the other, someone who backslides or falls-away is one that chooses to continue to live in their sin and refuses to repent/turn away from their sins. One lives in the fear of God the other lives in defiance of God.

Except Jews would find Catholics in violation of the 2nd and 4th commandment.

That's true anyone can join be apart of Israel its has always been this way even before the New Covenant as you stated. What would be the purpose of grafting in other branches from a different tree? The purpose of grafting in other branches is to produce bigger, better, or more fruit. No man would logically graft in branches that would diminish the productivity of the tree. So, just because you came of from a different linage does not diminish the Kingdom of God. The purpose of being grafted in is to produce the fruit God wants.

When we standup by defending others that are being oppressed and harmed it is a righteous and selflessness act by which God commands us to do so. Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid [them] out of the hand of the wicked. - Psa 82:3-4 KJV On the otherhand, we are told not to defend our own selves but turn the other cheek. God's word tells us when people curse you and say all manner of evil against, not to return insult with insult or harm for harm. The difference is one is defending others and one is defending self. With that said nothing in scripture says you must sit there take insults and harm from others. When Jesus was being physically attacked by religious leaders, he would find some way to leave the situation. Jesus even instructed his follower when people persecute you flee (escape) to next town (Mat 10.23).

It is true that God allowed evil kings to rise to power to punish his people who rebelled against him. Babylon, Assyria, Persia are all examples of how God used evil kings and nations to punish his people to turned their backs on him. I believe America has turned its back on God and we are seeing the wicked come to power. We have Russian and China at our door ready to pounce in face of weak leftist antichrist leadership we have.

HallaluYah! Many do not understand the significants of the two sticks prophecy. The House of Joseph is referring to Manasseh and Ephraim also Northern Israel. Jacob blessed Ephraim with a double blessing and told him that he would become the fullness of Gentiles/Nations. Ironically, Ephraim is also reference to Northern Israel aka House of Israel that was scattered into all the world approximately 2700 years ago and never returned to Israel. Ephraim became the fullness of the (gentile) nations that we know today. Many believe those that are being saved from the nations are the sons of Ephraim. God promised in the last days that he will make the house of Judah (Jews) and the house of Ephraim (Gentiles) one nation under one king and return them to the land of Israel for an everlasting kingdom.

The bible teaches that Noah was a righteous man that walked with God and a preacher of righteousness to a corrupt and evil generation. Noah was a prophet that heard from God. God divinely instructed Noah how to build the Ark so it would also be plausible that God also instructed him regarding which of the birds to release to determine if there was any dry earth.

You completely missed my point. The point was not that there were division over doctrine. My point is we should not be seeking church doctrine but rather seeking truth from scriptures with much earnest prayer. The problem I see is that most do not seek truth but rather go along with their church doctrine. It takes a very humble, submissive, and prayerful heart to break-free from man made doctrines and preconceived ideas about God the author of Truth. As Messiah said the road the leads to life is very narrow and troublesome and FEW that find it but wide and broad is the way that leads destruction that most follow. Just because you believe your are on the narrow path does not necessary mean you are. Messiah said MANY will say to me on the day, "Lord Lord we ate and drank in your presence" but he was say I never knew you depart from you you works of lawlessness. So therefore we must constantly challenge our faith and doctrines to ensure we are on the narrow path. When you stand before God you will not be able to use the excuse, "well that is what my church taught". We were warned numerous times to not be deceived.

Jesus explained why he was hated by the world system: The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. - Jhn 7:7 KJV And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved [corrected]. But he that doeth truth [follows his word/truth] cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest [made known], that they are wrought [made right] in God. - Jhn 3:19-21 KJV They Pharisees and Scribes hated him because they were evil hypocrites and Jesus was exposing them. They had an outward appearance of piety and religiousness but inwardly and secretly evil and living double life of sin, they were hypocrites. Jesus spoke the truth which exposed their sins and hypocrisy and they hated him for it. Jesus said no man comes to him unless their sins get exposed and corrected [repentance]. Even today people refuse to come to Messiah because they don't want their sins exposed and they don't want to repent of their sins. People love their sins and they don't want the light of the truth to shine on their lives to expose them and correct them. Its no different today we have people and ministers putting on a good show by going to church dressing in their fine suits and dresses and speak like they know God, preaching watered down false gospel of love, peace and harmony with mankind regardless of your sins while at the same time living a double life of sin and while teaching others that God winks at sin. No wonder we have ministers standing in churches that refuse to speak about sin, repentance and God's coming judgement because they themselves are engaged in a sinful life and refuse to repent. This is why homosexuality, adultery, divorce, pornography, and abortion are rampant in the church because they have made up their own false messiah and false doctrines that embraces sin. If you stand up and expose sin by speaking the truth of God's word you will be hated too. False believers want to go to a church where their sins are not exposed nor challenged by God's word. They want to be comforted in their sins.

A Sabbath-Rest for God's People
Jedi4Yahweh replied to Walter and Deborah's topic in General Discussion
These are some of the go-to scriptures that people that want to argue that somehow the disciples met and worshiped on Sunday instead of the Sabbath therefor changed the Sabbath to Sunday. And upon the first [day] of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. - Act 20:7 KJV Upon the first [day] of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as [God] hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. - 1Co 16:2 KJV But if you look up that 'first day of week' in the Greek translation it reads 'Sabbaton'. See below: Here is the definition of the Greek word 'sabbaton': Clearly 'first day of the week' is a mistranslation of Sabbath. -

And then we find scriptures like these: Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. - Heb 4:11 ESV "Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. - Luk 13:24 ESV The word strive means to labor fervently, to fight, to struggle. -
There is a lot of speculation about who and where the 12 tribes are today. Although interesting, the point is not to get caught up with genealogy/bloodlines but to provide some clarity about what being Jew really means. Regarding God forsaking his people Judah is false or Eze 37 would make no sense not to mention the multitude of other prophecies regarding their restoration of the House of Judah and Israel in the last days.. The Scriptures clearly show that God is going to restore his people both the house of Judah and Ephraim in the last days and though their falling away salvation came to whole world. As Paul said if their fall brought glory to the whole world their reconciliation will be of much greater glory.
-
I agree with that. Your correct, Jew refers to those of the Kingdom of Judah. I guess what I am saying is that there were some although they lived under the Kingdom of Israel yet still followed the covenant and laws of the Jews and worshipped at the Temple in Jerusalem and did follow along with their illegal worship sites the Kingdom of Israel built for Baal worship. For example Elijah and Elisha were prophets in the northern kingdom preaching against their false god worship trying to bring them back under the covenant of God.

I find it very interesting that Jacob blessed Ephraim and told him that he would become the "fullness of the Gentiles". Some translation say "fullness of the nations" others "a multitude of nations" but in Hebrew it reads the "fullness of the Gentiles". Many believe that when Assyria invaded Northern Israel/10 tribes of Israel (Ephraim ) and scattered them all over the world they were mixed in and became the nations we know today. The scriptures talks about how the 10 tribes would lose their identify and not know they are the descendants of Israel. One example is there have been recent discoveries of native American Indians that have Hebrew ties, artifacts of Hebrew language in caves and stones and many Native American languages and writings trace back to Paleo Hebrew. Many believe that true born-again believers could be the descendants to the Northern Tribes of Israel. This would line up with biblical prophesies that say that God will gather Israel (Lost Tribes) from out all the nations from where he scattered them in the last days and restore both the House of Judah [Jews] and House of Ephraim [Gentiles] as one Kingdom under Messiah. Today no one knows for sure who are where these 10 lost tribes ended up or who they are today. They have blended in with the nations and through the blessing of God have become the fullness of the nations. Think about it, this scattering happened over 2700 years ago, a few million people would be billions today maybe much more. God has a way of increasing his people while at same time removing the wicked from the earth. I choose to believe the bible that says they have become the fullness of the nations. If you are a gentile you very well maybe a descendant of Ephraim which means you are a descendant of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. Didn't God promise Abraham that he would be the Father of many nations and his descendants like the sand of the sea and stars of heaven and though him all the nations of the world would be blessed. Sort of makes since to what Paul says: For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this [is] My covenant with them, When I take away their sins." - Rom 11:25-27 NKJV

@Starise I have run into a few myself. There have been many centuries of hostility between Jew and Christian on both sides and both have been at fault. On the other hand, God will one day join the two in Messiah which is already happening. Many Jews are Christians, majority of the 1st Century Church were Jews beginning with Messiah himself. Many Jew's are waking up to who their Messiah is, and likewise many Christians are waking up to the Jewishness of their faith and shaking off the Roman Paganism that was adopted by much of the church. God is restoring all things.
