Poll: What is the best definition of God's Grace?
Jedi4Yahweh replied to Vine Abider's topic in General Discussion
I like the old proverb: Grace is getting something do not deserve and Mercy is NOT getting something you do deserve. I think of God's grace as His loving kindness towards sinners. For while we were sinners and haters of God, He paid the ultimate price for our redemption and has given us all the opportunity to repent and turn to him for his mercy and forgiveness and also to become His Sons and Daughters of his eternal Kingdom. -
Mathew 23? How does Christianity feel about this Verse?
Jedi4Yahweh replied to Jesse_Loves_God's topic in General Discussion
The Seat of Moses was a place where the Torah/Law was read to the congregation word for word and unadulterated. Synagogues had a separate place or podium where they would teach or commentate on what was read from the Law and would add their own thoughts and interpretations, but Jesus specifically says Seat of Moses. What Jesus was saying is obey the Torah and Law but don't follow that actions and doctrines of the Pharisees who contradict and outright disobey the Law. Then understood they how that he bade [them] not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. - Mat 16:12 KJV -
I imagine there are going to be many people in his Kingdom that we would never have thought will be there and vise versa there were be many who we thought should be there but are not. God and him alone is will be the judge of who enters his Kingdom. He will expose everyone's deeds, thoughts, words on that great day good or bad.

For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. - 1Co 13:12 I suspect that we all only know in part and not perfect in our understanding of God and his ways. If someone told me that they were 100% accurate in their theology and have everything figured out I would get away as far as I could from that person, because they are headed disasters fall. Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their craftiness," and again, "The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, and its all worthless" - 1Co 3:18-20

Nice Christmas story, but I would not consider the Savior of the World a lost sheep that needed to be found. I would think it would be their other way around. He is the good Shepard.

Trump threatens to take control of Panama Canal
Jedi4Yahweh replied to missmuffet's topic in U.S. Politics
Panama Canal was built and paid for by the US, yet Panama is using it to over charge US to use it which is a vital trade route to the US economy. Agreed this is what Trump said: Speaking to supporters in Arizona during an event organized by Turning Point USA, Trump criticised Panama for charging “excessive rates” to use the canal. "President-elect Trump demanded Panamanian authorities either lower fees for U.S. ships to transit the Panama Canal, or return its control to the United States." “Has anyone ever heard of the Panama Canal?” he asked rhetorically. “We’re being ripped off like we are everywhere else. If the principles, both moral and legal, of this magnanimous gesture of giving are not followed, then we will demand that the Panama Canal be returned to us, in full, quickly, and without question.” “We’re being ripped off” US President-elect Donald Trump has suggested that the United States might reclaim the Panama Canal, citing rising tariffs and potential Chinese influence. This provocative statement revives discussions about the canal’s tumultuous history — from its American-led construction to its transfer to Panama in 1999 — and the geopolitics of one of the world’s most vital trade arteries https://www.firstpost.com/explainers/donald-trump-threatens-to-take-back-panama-canal-history-controversy-13846887.html -
Agreed about spirits of the Nephilim becoming the unclean spirits/demons that now plague the world as Enoch clearly describes, but I think that should be for another topic. It can not be the fallen angels because they are locked away in everlasting chains under darkness until the great day of Judgement. And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. - Jde 1:6

According to Gen 6. After the fall of Adam and Eve eventually sin corrupted all of earth's creation including animals. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. ... The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. - Gen 6:7, 11-12 KJV God made man to be the ruler and keeper over all God's earthly creation which includes the animal kingdom. Animals were subjected to the authority of Adam (man) just as man is subjected the the authority of God. When man rebelled and sinned against God's authority this in turn effected Adam's (man's) authority and rulership over God's creation and this is why all flesh became corrupted to include animals. The word corruption means: to defile, to pervert, to ruin, to destroy, to corrupt, to spoil, to decay, to error, to change from good to bad, to make impure.

Not sure. It seems God still referred to Jacob as Jacob long after he gave him the name Israel in both the old and new testament references. It also seems that was the case with (Simon) Peter. Where sometimes Jesus called him Simon others times Peter.

Agreed. Its not what you think or who you say you are but who you actually are, you are known by your fruit. There are many who think they are Christian but its not who they really are because they do not produce the true fruits of a repentant born again life. Yes, they may go to a church but they do not produce the God kind of fruit associated with being born again, sadly many of them are pastors and elders in churches; blind leading the blind. They profess to know him but in their actions deny him. These people have never fully repented and fully committed their all to God but fell back into their old sinful ways and have never experienced the true spiritual resurrection of being born again.

According to Book of Daniel he will be somewhat of an humanist atheist: He will show no regard for the religion of his ancestors [Daniel 11:37] He will not honor any god at all[except for himself/]secular humanist [Daniel 11:37] He will have no regard or the desire for women": He will either be asexual or homosexual [Dan 11:37] He will claim to be greater than any god [Daniel 11:36-37; 2 Thess 2:4] He will claim to be God [2 Thessalonians 2:4] Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. - Dan 11:37

The sacrifices were stopped in 70AD with the destruction of the Temple and desolation of Jerusalem. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, [thou] that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under [her] wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. - Mat 23:37-38 All the prophecies you mentioned about rebuilding the temple where in reference to the 2nd temple. All of these prophecies were after the destruction of the 1st Temple and before the rebuilding of the 2nd Temple. God is not going to reinstitute animal sacrifices for sin atonement. As stated in Hebrews 10: The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. If they could have provided perfect cleansing, the sacrifices would have stopped, for the worshipers would have been purified once for all time, and their feelings of guilt would have disappeared. But instead, those sacrifices actually reminded them of their sins year after year. For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. That is why, when Christ came into the world, he said to God, "You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings. But you have given me a body to offer. You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin. Then I said, 'Look, I have come to do your will, O God--as is written about me in the Scriptures.'" First, Christ said, "You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them" (though they are required by the law of Moses). ... But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God's right hand. - Heb 10:1-8, 12 Why would God reinstitute animal sacrifices for sin when they were imperfect and only a shadow of what was to come? God offered his Son as the ultimate sacrifice for sin for ALL TIME and God is not going to reestablish an imperfect system for sin atonement and nullify the sacrifice of his Son. His sacrifice for sin was good for all time meaning past, present, and future.

I am not familiar with most of those, maybe before my time. I have been to a Chi-Chi's but have not seen one in awhile and we have A&W near my house. Anybody remember Shoney's or Krystal's? Not sure if they are around anymore.

If that were true, we would have a contradiction of scripture, how do you rationalize the following?: The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. Then he said, "Look, I have come to do your will." He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect. For God's will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time. Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God's right hand. ... And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices. - Heb 10:1-12, 18
-
How do you rationalize? In Ezekiel's Temple they were offering animals for sin sacrifices. Are you saying that Temple in the Millennial, priest will be offering animal sacrifices for sin. And thou shalt give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of Zadok, which approach unto me, to minister unto me, saith the Lord GOD, a young bullock for a sin offering. ... Thou shalt take the bullock also of the sin offering, and he shall burn it in the appointed place of the house, without the sanctuary. And on the second day thou shalt offer a kid of the goats without blemish for a sin offering; and they shall cleanse the altar, as they did cleanse [it] with the bullock. ... Seven days shalt thou prepare every day a goat [for] a sin offering: they shall also prepare a young bullock, and a ram out of the flock, without blemish. - Eze 43:19, 21-22, 25 KJV And in the day that he goeth into the sanctuary, unto the inner court, to minister in the sanctuary, he shall offer his sin offering, saith the Lord GOD. ... They shall eat the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; and every dedicated thing in Israel shall be theirs. - Eze 44:27, 29 KJV And it shall be the prince's part [to give] burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and drink offerings, in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel. ... And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put [it] upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court. ... And upon that day shall the prince prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bullock [for] a sin offering. And seven days of the feast he shall prepare a burnt offering to the LORD, seven bullocks and seven rams without blemish daily the seven days; and a kid of the goats daily [for] a sin offering. - Eze 45:17, 19, 22-23 KJV

No....this vision was fulfilled with the building of the second temple. The New Covenant does not require animal sacrifices nor a man made temple to worship God. Listen to what Jesus said: The woman said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. "Our fathers worshiped on this mountain [Mt Garizim/Samaritan Temple], and you [Jews] say that in Jerusalem [Jewish Temple] is the place where one ought to worship." Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. "You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. "But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. "God [is] Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." - Jhn 4:19-24 What hour was Jesus speaking of when he said, "The Hour is Coming when you will neither worship me at Mt Gerizim nor at the Jerusalem Temple but those that will worship Him with do it in Spirit and Truth?"

Ezekiel's vision of a future Temple was most logically referring to the 2nd Temple. Ezekiel had this vision while in exile in Babylon after the destruction of 1st Temple. There was no 2nd temple and Israel was in in exile and captives living in Babylon, so logically the vision of this future Temple would be referring to the 2nd Temple that would be built giving hope to a defeated conquered Israel. Imagine you are living at the time of Ezekiel and in exile in Babylon. What would this prophecy mean to you, at that time? Anyone reading Ezekiel would see this as a plan for the 2nd Temple.

Sheep/Goats Judgement not same as Great White Throne?
Jedi4Yahweh replied to Vine Abider's topic in Eschatology
Agreed not a parable but does give some symbolic imagery of sheep vs. goats. -
And it shall come to pass in the last days, [that] the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. - Isa 2:2-4 KJV

Sheep/Goats Judgement not same as Great White Throne?
Jedi4Yahweh replied to Vine Abider's topic in Eschatology
It seems according to Zec 14 and Isa 2 that there will be surviving nations that will enter the reign of Christ, no indication that these nations were prior Christians. Zec 14:9-19 - And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and [from] the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses. And [men] shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited. And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth. And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour. And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance. And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague. And it shall come to pass, [that] every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, [that] whoso will not come up of [all] the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that [have] no [rain]; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. Isa 2:2-4 KJV - And it shall come to pass in the last days, [that] the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. Sheep/Goats Judgement not same as Great White Throne?
Jedi4Yahweh replied to Vine Abider's topic in Eschatology
The scriptures says in certain places that some people of the OT had the Holy Spirit in them and in some places it says upon them...but it also says in the Last days NT the Spirit will come upon them and they will prophecy, see visions, etc... Having the Holy Spirit in you is definitely part of the NT promise...but we can not say that none of OT prophets or saints did not have the Holy Spirit in them. Peter said this of the OT prophets: Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace [that should come] unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. - 1Pe 1:10-11 Holy Spirit In (OT): Yet for many years You had patience with them, And testified against them by Your Spirit in Your prophets. Yet they would not listen; Therefore You gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands. - Neh 9:30 NKJV Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: "See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. "And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all [manner of] workmanship, - Exo 31:1-3 NKJV Ezekiel: Then the Spirit entered me when He spoke to me, and set me on my feet; and I heard Him who spoke to me. - Eze 2:2 NKJV And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. - Luk 1:41 Now his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Spirit, and prophesied, saying: - Luk 1:67 Holy Spirit Upon (OT): Then Moses said to him, "Are you zealous for my sake? Oh, that all the LORD's people were prophets [and] that the LORD would put His Spirit upon them!" - Num 11:29 "Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. - 1Sa 10:6 ----- Holy Spirit In (NT): "the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. - Jhn 14:17 Holy Spirit Upon (NT): And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, "You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased." - Luk 3:22 "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." - Act 1:8 "And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning. - Act 11:15 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. - Act 19:6 NKJV While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. - Act 10:44 -
No, Abraham was not the first Jew nor was he a natural born Jew. He was a Chaldean (Modern day Iraq) that left his home to settle in the Land known as Canaan later known as Israel. The term Jew did not even exist until hundreds of years later after Solomon when Israel split into two kingdoms: Kingdom of Israel and Kingdom of Judah. The Kingdom of Judah later became known as Jews or Judeans. The Kingdom of Israel became known as Ephraim and later Samaritans. Anyone who joined themselves to the Kingdom of Judah and followed their ways and their God were known as Jews regardless of race or tribe. Abraham may be considered the first Hebrew. Hebrew children of Jacob became known as Israel. Much later Israel split and only some of the Israelites became Jews or Judeans. Being a Jew had more to do with their faith and observances then it did their lineage even today anyone can convert and become Jewish. Yes, I know there is a lot of debate over if one is a Jew verses Jewish, but I can tell you to God its a matter of the heart not of the flesh. Even some of Jesus grandmothers were gentiles that were grafted into Israel: Rahab the prostitute from Jericho a Canaanite, and Ruth was Moabite. And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to [our] father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. - Mat 3:9 ...If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. - Jhn 8:39

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. - Jhn 5:28-29 Which Judgment-seat do think this fall into (sheep and goats or white throne)?
