  1. Yes both types of tongues is used in the Church today just as they used it in the Book of Acts. Sometimes people of other languages do understand what is being said in the spirit but this is not always the case but it still happens. Either way you look at it its God by his Spirit supernaturally speaking though us sometimes by prayer sometimes in a message and sometime in a known language that we do not know. Its God that works it we just speak it as God gives us. Sometimes tongues is used as a sign for those that do not believe. God bless,
  2. I'd be interested to hear what you find. If you call yourself a Pentecostal (and I don't know if you, in particular, do), the I'd suppose that you're identifying with the events of Pentecost....right? The miracle of Pentecost, was that each person heard the disciples speak in their own language. These were not angelic lanugaues or ecstatic utterances, but the actual known languages of men. There is a difference between praying in tongues and giving a message in tongues: A message in tongues is very distinct and and needs an interpretation to understand what was being said. This is where the gift of interpretation comes in. But there is also praying in tongues which does not have to be interpreted because it between you and God. Its the Holy Spirit praying through you. Also praying in tongues is a means for personnel edification and inner strength. Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost 1Co 14:4 The one speaking in a tongue builds himself up, but he prophesying builds up an assembly. Rom 8:26 And likewise the Spirit also joins in to help our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes on our behalf with groanings that cannot be uttered. The bible teaches us that when you are praying to God in the spirit that you are not speaking to man but to God. So praying in spirit is not a message to interpreted but its between you and God. 1Co 14:2 For the one speaking in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God, for no one hears, but in spirit he speaks mysteries. I guess what I am trying to establish is non-Pentecostals try to mix the message of tongues that requires an interpretation with the supernatural pray language of the Spirit. They are not the same. Its just like me praying to God in english vs. Giving a message to a group in English. God bless,
  3. Thank God for Fridays
  4. I don't think so...When an actor claims to be a born a Christian you automatically know that there Hollywood career is over. But whats it worth if you gain the whole world but lose your soul. Is you Hollywood image more important then God? Thank God for people like Stephen Baldwin that is willing to put his Carree on the line to follow Jesus. He considers Jesus a pearl of Great price and he considers all other things as loss so that he may gain Christ. God Bless,
  5. There were many men before the cross that God consider righteous not because of the law but because they lived by faith and were friends of God and God counted them as righteous. Enoch Noah Abraham Lot Elijah Joseph Job David The Prophets etc... But they all believed on him who was, who is, and who is to come. God bless,
  6. Sure you can be saved by the Law thats if you are totally blamless and kept every lil jot of it. But the scriptures say that we all are guilty of the law and there is none righteous that live by it. Abraham, Noah, Enoch, Lot were all righteous without the law because they lived faith and fellowship with God and God counted them as righteous. God bless,
  7. Hi, Before the the Tower of Babel the world spoke one language. What do you think that language is or was? Whatever that language is or was came from Adam in which Adam learned from God. Linguist say that Chaldean Hebrew is the oldest known language. Could Hebrew be the language that Adam learned from God? Do you think that Hebrew will be our heavenly language? Just food for thought. jason.perkins@ellsworth.af.mil God bless,
  8. Exactlly, I have noticed that people including Christians if something does not fit their traditional theology they automatically label it of the Devil. Jesus warned the Pharisees for saying that he did the miracles by the power of the Devil. He told them that they were not speaking against him but they were speaking and blaspheming the Holy Spirit that works the miracles. We must be careful how we speak against things we do not understand. We maybe speaking against the Holy Spirit which is Blasphemy and that will put you in danger of Hell. Jesus said you can say all kind of evil things about me but if you speak against the Holy Spirit your doomed. Mar 3:22-30 Some teachers of the Law of Moses came from Jerusalem and said, "This man is under the power of Beelzebub, the ruler of demons! He is even forcing out demons with the help of Beelzebub." (23) Jesus told the people to gather around him. Then he spoke to them in riddles and said: How can Satan force himself out? (24) A nation whose people fight each other won't last very long. (25) And a family that fights won't last long either. (26) So if Satan fights against himself, that will be the end of him. (27) How can anyone break into the house of a strong man and steal his things, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can take everything. (28) I promise you that any of the sinful things you say or do can be forgiven, no matter how terrible those things are. (29) But if you speak against the Holy Spirit, you can never be forgiven. That sin will be held against you forever. (30) Jesus said this because the people were saying that he had an evil spirit in him. I have learned to keep my trap shout when I see things I simply do not have a biblical answer for. Even if I do have a "biblical" answer I could still be wrong and speak against the Holy Spirit. Just let God be God and don't put him a religious box like the Pharisees were doing. God bless,
  9. Hi, Did you guys know that Stephen Baldwin is a born again Christian. I just recently found this out the other day. I think its pretty odd that all his other brothers are all flaming liberals. I also hear that Stephen Baldwin will be one of the Guest Speakers at the Republican Convention and I also hear that Third Day will also be playing at the convention. Yeah!!! I think its funny that Alec Baldwin was one of the guest speakers at the DNC and Stephen Baldwin is going to be the guest speaker at the GOP convention. The scriptures are true where Jesus stated that he came to bring a division and those of your own household will be your enemies. God bless,
  10. Because of my love for God. Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 1Jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. So what are his commandments? 1Jo 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. God bless,
  11. Scudbuddy, I always enjoy reading your post. I thank God for people like you who despite of all the attacks and criticism that are coming against Spirit-filled believers you still make a strong stand on faith. There are so many times I feel like Elijah alone in world full of negative and unbelief toward the things of God, but then I run into people like you and you rekindle my hope and then I realize that there are people out there truly seeking, serving and having true faith in God. Keep up the good fight of faith brother. Thanks Scudbuddy,
  12. I guess you can look at the Life of Jonah. God's perfect plan was for him to preach to the city of Nineveh but look what he did, he ran from God. God mended Jonahs ways but Jonah could have taken the easier route and did as God told him to do in the first place. I believe when we veer off from God's plan that God will deal with us and then make corrections where needed. God will even amended his plan to get you back on course. God bless,
  13. This is how I understand the Will of God. There are two types of "Will of God". The "Permissive Will of God" and the "Perfect Will of God": The Permissive will of God is non-specific will, it is the general will of God and just because it is Gods will does not mean that it will come to pass. For instance it is Gods will that all come to repentance and that no should parish. It is Gods will that we all live a godly fruitful life. Its Gods will the you be conformed to the image of his son. Its Gods will that you live a Godly and Upright life before God. It is Gods will that you sin no more. This is Gods will but we all know that not all will repent, be saved, nor live Godly nor be conformed to his sons image but yet it is still Gods will for us all. This is Gods permissive will of God its is not the specific (Perfect) will of God. Then there is the "Perfect Will/Plan of God": Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. The Perfect will of God is God's detailed plan for your life. Its what I like to call the who-what-when-and-where-and-how will of God. Its God specific detail Will or Plan for your life and it does not allow much room for deviations. Examples of Gods Perfect Will or Plan would be: Jesus to suffer and die on the cross for our sins. Paul called to be an Apostle by the will of God Paul's call to take the Gospel to Rome. Peters call to feed His sheep. Davids call to become King of Israel. Moses to led Israel to the promise land. Abraham's call to be the father of nations. Jacob to be the father of Israel. Noah's call to build an Ark. Mary to bear the son of God. etc... It is Gods permissive will that I be conformed to the image of Jesus but Gods specific will is for me to take the Gospel to Nepal and to reach a small little women named Liya who is a witch doctor of her village in return her whole village will be saved. The bible is Gods Permissive will but it is not Gods Specific will or plan for your life this can only be revealed to you by his Spirit. God bless,
  14. Hi, John the Baptist was not Elijah but he did come in the Spirit of Elijah. Meaning that he was turning Israel back to God through repentance. This was also Elijah's ministry. Elijah has yet to come. I believe that Elijah will be one of the Prophets in the tribulation period. They will be killed and rise again. I believe the the two prophets of the tribulation will be Elijah and Enoch. Those two have not seen death but according to scripture man is appointed to die. Physical Death is something we are all appionted to. Yet Elijah and Enoch have not seen death yet. Mal 4:5-6 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: (6) And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. Notice the key words before the great and dreadful day of the Lord. God bless,
  15. I dont think this will be the case. I believe that during the tribulation/Persecution many Christians will deny that this is the tribulation that Jesus spoke of. They will even deny that the Anti-Christ is the anti-christ. Most of the world we view him as a very charming and strong leader. Most of the world including America if she is around will look up to this man of Sin. The Persecution will come on the true believers while the worldly "christians" will go untouched. They will look up to this world leader as a hero to the world. The worldly "christians" will also be the ones persecuting and betraying the true christians. The bible says that "Christian Love" will grow cold and christians will betray one another turning them over to goverment officals. The bible says in the book of Daniel that this leader will reward "christians" to forsake the covenant of God and turn on those who continue to follow it. So I believe most Christians will not even know that they are in the tribulation unless they are living right with God and that is not very many people. The bible says in the last days that God is going bring strong delusions so that people will believe a lie and people will call that which is good evil and that which is evil good. So that day will still come unexpected. God bless,
  16. Amen brother.... Joh 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 1Jo 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. I am like you I am sick of the worldliness that is allowed in our Churches. I have a hard time knowing who my brothers and sisters are in the Church. I have a hard time listening to ministers because I dont know if he is man of the World or a Man of God. I am for Basic Crystal Clear Christianity any thing less is of the world. God bless,
  17. I can remember times during worship and in intense prayer that I felt the Joy of the Lord come over me. I felt like jumping out of my seat and running, leaping and shouting about how God is so Great. The bible speaks about in the presence of the Lord there is FULLNESS of Joy. There have been times when I was so into God that I felt this overwhelming Joy come over me so strong that I have absolutely felt drunk and would have a hard time walking and speaking and there were other times that I felt overwhelming sorrow that I could do nothing but weep and sob. Couple of Scriptures come to mind: Psa 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Eph 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; God bless,
  18. Not sure if the American Church is the Laodicea spoken of, but never the less it still applies. Yes the American Church as a whole is in bad shape and needs to repent or God will snuff out our light. God bless,
  19. Good points. You know that many people of the early church and even of the latter church would change their name on the day they became saved/baptised. Because they believed they were a new person in Christ. We see many examples of this even in the bible. Simon---Peter Saul---Paul Even in the old testiment Abram---Abraham Sarai---Sarah Jacob----Israel God bless,

    Isaiah 53:4-5

Hi bro... I am not sure if its apart of the atonement because atonement manily refers to Justification and Forgiveness, but I absolutely believe Divine Healing is apart of the New Covenant that God made with us. Jesus said that one of the signs that will follow believers is healing by the laying on of hands. We see this clearly evident through out the book of Acts, the early church, and even today. God Bless,
