Hi, Whocares if we get awards in heaven? I will be too happy just knowing I am in heaven? This will out weigh the thought of awards? The greatest award you could ever get is eternal life; what gift can out do that?

Are there different levels of punishment in hell?
Jedi4Yahweh replied to angels4u's topic in General Discussion
Hi, I would have to say yes, because the bibles says that when someone that experiances God's salvation and then turns away his end will be worse then if he was never saved. Basicly Peter is saying it would have been better that he had never been saved then to get saved then turn away from God. His punishment will be worse then that of an unbeliever. This should be a strong warning to christians that think they can live a double life of sin and righteousness. For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first. For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered unto them. It has happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog turning to his own vomit again, and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire. (2Pe 2:20-22) One translation reads: They promise these newcomers freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, for if they're addicted to corruption--and they are--they're enslaved. If they've escaped from the slum of sin by experiencing our Master and Savior, Jesus Christ, and then slid back into that same old life again, they're worse than if they had never left. Better not to have started out on the straight road to God than to start out and then turn back, repudiating the experience and the holy command. They prove the point of the proverbs, "A dog goes back to its own vomit," and, "A scrubbed-up pig heads for the mud." (2Pe 2:19-22) How can it be better not to be saved, then to be saved and then fall away? -
The question is not how many times can you be saved but how many times can you be forgiven? What does the bible say about how many times you can be forgiven? One part of Salvation means forgiveness of past sins if we confess and repent. How often do you need forgiveness of sins? I dont know about you but I need Gods salvation all the time to recue me from sin and self. I guess you could say I get saved all the time. Amen Our salvation is not complete until the day we depart and stand before God? We need Gods salvation every day to keep us free from sin and temptation and demonic oppression and forgiveness if we do sin. Salvation does not just mean saved from hell but saved from sin, saved from sickness, saved from demonic bondage and oppression, saved from troubles, etc.. We need Gods salvation everyday to be overcomers. Salvation incorporates forgiveness and mercy. We need Gods mercy and forgiveness all the time not just one time. Salvation comes from having strong faith in God everyday, it's not just a one time experiance. Do a study on God's salvation and you will see that it has more to do with being saved from sin more then being saved from hell? Are you saved from sin or just the results of sin? My question is have you been saved from sin? If you continue in sin, have you really experianced Gods full salvation? We need God's salvation everyday which comes by having strong faith in God which comes from having a trusting relationship with him to get us to the promised land. The bibles says the Jesus came to save us from sin. (Period) So whatz your definition of salvation and do you need it everyday or is is just a one time experiance?

I tend to use a many differant translations. When reading the bible from differant translations it tends to shead more lite and give a better understanding of scripture. I am not a KJV legalist but I do use the KJV because it is a more accurate translation then most. I found that when I am just reading the bible I normal use the New Living Translation, but when I when i am in deep study I use wide selection of word for word translations. The most important part about the bible is not so much about having the most accurate translation but living and doing what you understand. Being a hear and a doer. Its possible to live a powerful Christian life without ever reading a single scipture. My God is not limited to a book or something I read about but someone that lives and I know from a relationship by his Spirit. God bless,

Amen!!! Your right most churches teach that it is impossible to be set free from sin. I believe most churches lean toward the idea that we are not set free from sin but from the punishment of sin. But my understand is that Yahshua came to set us free from sin itself which causes punishment. The bible says that under the new covenant God has inscribed his eternal laws on our heart so that we will not sin agaisnt him. Most Christinas believe that God has done away with law of God but contrary God has made the his laws intimate and placed them in our heart. Yahshua has come to set us free from sin, which causes condemnation and punishment so that we will be a holy people set free from a life of sin and disobediance toward God. God bless and I pray that we all grow each day in the grace and knowledge of God, Jason

I have heard some of you say that there is no need to repent from sin but self; I am not sure if there is a differance. God has given us all the grace to repent from sin or he would not require this of us. According to Gods word we are required to turn from sin or we will perish even if you have said the sinners prayer a millions times; does you no good unless you repent from sin. Give me your opinion of the following scriptures: Suppose I promise good people that they will live, then later they start sinning and believe they will be saved by the good they did in the past. These people will certainly be put to death because of their sins. Their good deeds will be forgotten. Suppose I warn wicked people that they will die because of their sins, and they stop sinning and start doing right. For example, they need to return anything they have taken as security for a loan and anything they have stolen. Then if they stop doing evil and start obeying my Law, they will live. Their past sins will be forgiven, and they will live because they have done right. (Eze 33:13-16) Does God require us to repent? Does Jesus say we must repent? God forgives based on our repentance. Luk 17:3 Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. Luk 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. Thanks and God bless,

I've been thinking about this. My first question is where this "little Zeus" thing comes from. Is this something you heard somewhere but don't recall the source (this happens to me a lot)? Or what? But I am thinking of something else with this, too. Now, I am not a languages expert, but based on what little I know, Iesus seems more of a Latin derivation (Indiana Jones 3: "There's no "J" in Latin."). Plus, Roman names, from the Latin language, often end in "us" (Marcus, Brucilius, Spartacus, Maximus). Just more thinking. Hi, There are many sites the refute the origin of the word Iesus/Jesus. I have come across many articales that say the origin of the word iesus means "son of zeus or little zeus". And there are many sites that refute those claims and I am not saying that I agree or disagree. I can not prove it either way. The point I am making is if we know his true name the one given to him at birth by God, then why do we continue to use another name. His name transliterates just as given into Greek, Latin and English just as all of the other hebrew names of the bible.. His name is above all other names? So which is it: Iesus or Yahshua? If they had to change Yahshua name then why didnt they change Yahshua/Joshua son of nuns name in the OT also???? Here are a few sites: http://www.proclaimtheword.org/A-Name.html http://www.biblical-life.com/swrc/Articles.../Jesus-Name.htm There are many other sites but you can do the search.

Hi, We are in a covenant relationship with God. The word Covenant means Contract. In any contract there are repsonsiblities for both parties. God has his responsibilites and You have your responsibilites. Contracts can be nullified if one party later neglects to fullfill his responsibilites. The New Covenant is not a one sided Contract or it would not be a Contract/Covenant. Once you enter into a contract with God you are obligated to fulfill your part of the contract and God who can not lie will fulfill his part. Now from what Iam getting from CWJ is that we are in a one sided contract with God. This is not a Covenant relatonship with God but a one-side relationship. God is not obligated to fulfill his promise if you neglect to fulfill your part of the covenant.

Thanks for your judgemental statements and attitude! Bible says blessed are you when people curse you for my NAME sake.

I never said Hebrew was a dead language but contrary that it was alive and well during Yahshua's time and the early church. How do you know this? This is complete assumptions! Do all Mexicans run around Mexico speaking English. No they speak spanish and maybe know enough english to buy and sell. How do you know that the orginal writers of the NT did or didnt use IESUS. We dont even have the original letters but only copies of copies the NT. This again is assumptions! You have no foundation at all to base that on. Tell me why they had to change Yahshua's name to reach gentiles and why didnt they change any of the other hebrew names of the bible? Maybe they could have reached more gentiles if they just changed the whole bible. How can I be biased I am neither a Jew nor speak Hebrew but a gentile. So is Yahshua his name? How is this an assumption to say that Yahshua is his real name and not IESUS?
-
Are you saying the IESUS is more understandable then Yahshua. How can a Label be more understandable then his original name which had meaning? Names and titles transcend language barriors. If he was called Yahshua then he should still be called Yahshua today in any language. Unless Yahshua delibertly changed his name. We have no proof of which language the original writers of the NT used. All of the NT manuscipts are mere copies of copies. There were 3 main languages spoken during that time: Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin. (Joh 19:20) I have heard people tell me that Hebrew was a dead language during that time, but Pilit put a sign over Yahshua written in the three most commonly used languages during that time so that all that spoke those languages could understand. Yes Iam sure greek was a common language amoung that time but that does not mean that Israel used that language on a day to day bases. This is like saying in our modern time english (international language) is the most common language therefore most people in Mexico and Cuba speak English on a day to day bases. Yes English is a international language but most likley if someone in Mexico were to write a letter or book it would most likely be in spanish. We all know what Yahshua's orginal name is and it is in no way a hinderance to our english language. So why do we continue to use his pseudo name when we know his true and orginal name?

Hi, The word Jesus is not a translation but a label that greeks assigned to Yahshua. Iesus is the greek word for Jesus. Many believe that Iesus means "son of zeus" or "little zeus" and believe that greeks changed his name so other greeks who worshipped Zeus as their main deity would not be offened. I personally believe that Jesus or Iesus is a plotted distortion of Yahshua's real name. Out of all the hebrew names in the bible only Yahshua's name was changed. The name above all names was changed! Why??? Why didnt the greeks change the name of Abraham, Isaac, Jacobs or any other hebrew names in the bible. The true english translation of Yahshua is Joshua. Just as Yahovah is translated into Jehovah/Johovah. We have to remember the hebrew language did not have the letter "j" but used "ya" instead. If greeks had a hard time pronouncing Yahshua's name, well why didnt they change Joshua/Yahshua son of nun's name in the OT also. So why did the name above all names "Yahshua" change? Who could dear change such a holy and powerful name by which men are saved? Jesus is not the name of "Yahshua" Gods son. If greeks just absolutly had to translate Yahshua's name it would be "Theosozo". meaning God saves. Theos = God Sozo= Saves

Nobody here is denying that we do have security in Christ (key word "IN"). Just because God will not revoke our salvation, that does not mean that we can not walk away from God after our initial salvation experience. In fact......... Amen Bro.

The military and police forces is not called to kill but to protect. Yes, sometimes protecting others from bad people requires requires deadly force. If someone broke in to my home with the intent to kill or harm my wife and children I would absoultly shoot to kill that person in attempt to proctect my family and not think twice about it. I believe the person that does not do anything to protect and defend others is an absolute selfish evil person.

The whole point of the passage of scripture in John 15 is that we abide in Christ and bring forth fruit. So how do we abide in Christ? If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. (Joh 15:10) And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. (1Jo 3:24) And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (1Jo 2:3-4) We abide in Christ by keeping his commandments. Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandments. (John 14:21) Notice the conditional words "if". All of the promises of God are based on "if". So I would say that our salvation is conditional.

Thats weird I am currently in the USAF and there was talk of the air force buying a prison and turning it into dorms. The reason the prison was closing was because there was not enough personal space for prisoners. Yet the Air Force thinks it has adequate space for Airman to live. lol I personally dont see any wrong in joining the military as a christian unless the military requires you to do something that is against your conscience or if you believe that the military is serving a evil cause. If I felt like the USAF was not serving a good purpose I would not be apart of it. The US military stands for liberty, Justice and Freedom for all people. We are agaisnt goverments that harm and oppress their on people and others. We are agaisnt goverments that take away individual freedoms and God given rights. The US military serves more as an humanitarian aid rather then a fighting force. I was just reading somewhere that 80% of the US militarys missions are humanitarian. The bible says that God uses goverment to punish evil doers and to protect those that do good. I believe God uses the US goverment and military to fill that calling. I read in the gospels and book of acts of military leaders that believed and had great faith. One of the provided links says that we cant serve God and the military at the same time because that would be serving two masters. To believe this means you cant work anywhere because that would mean your serving somebody. Even if you owned your own business you are still serving your customers or clients. Military is nothing more than a job with a cause. God bless,

Yeah I may disagree with him on his stance of eternal security but I do agree on the subject of true repentance and the preaching of the whole gospel that brings it about.

I recently had a friend/co-worker turn his back on God. He came to me months before to talk about how he wants to get his life right with God. I could tell he was sincere. I told him about how God requires us to repent and totally put our faith in him. Well later he went to talk to a pastor so happen the paster is OSAS. Well my co-worker explained to the pastor how horrible and convicted he had been feeling and how we wanted to get his life right with God. So the paster went through the magical "sinners prayer" with him and then spent like an hour explaing the OSAS doctrine and telling him how eternally secure he was and no sin can ever keep him out of heaven. He came by my house the other day and we were talking about God and he explained to me how narrow-minded I was for believing that Jesus is the only way to heaven. He explained to me about how he is studing all these other religions that he learned about in his religion class. I tried to reason with him with scriptures but he does not even believe the bible is inspired of God or that Jesus is the Son of God but a mere man that lived a good life. I just wonder what would have happend if the paster would have explained to him about turning from sin and turning to God who can save him. I wonder what would have happend if he explained about counting the cost and taking up his cross and following Jeuss. Maybe he would be serving God rather then sin and false religions. Thanks,

Hi, Ray Comfort is an awsome pastor / street evangelist from New Zealand. He wrote a book called "Hells best kept secret." He address a common problem in most churches how 80 to 90% of those making a decision for Christ will fall away from the faith. He address where this problems comes from and how to change it. He speaks about how the Law of God applys to the New Covenant and how the Law of God is to be used in evangelism by drawing sinners to Christ. Here is a short excerpt from Ray Comforts "Hells best kept Secret" If your interested in listening to the whole teaching you can go hear and listen to it: (be sure to scroll down until you find "hells best kept secret". http://www.praize.com/sermons/RayComfort/ Jason

Hi Calamity. What I am trying to say is that when people preach the 'easy believism' that is going around so much today, it gives them a false sense of security. If you tell someone to put their seat belt on because it will make them more comfortable, they may just take it off when it becomes uncomfortable to them. But if you tell them that it will save their life should they get into an accident, that seatbelt will not come off. The same is with God. God is going to pour out His wrath on the unrighteous. If we preach that "Jesus will enhance your life and bless you", we are only preaching 1/2 of Jesus. Jesus preached much about the lake of fire! He doesn't want anybody to go there. So we need to ALWAYS include the WHOLE Gospel when talking with someone. Showing someone 4 passages in Romans and then asking them to say the so-called 'sinners prayer' is a pretty lousy form of evangelism, in my opinion. Take them to Exodus 20 and ask them if they can say with a clear conscience that they are innocent of all 10 commandments. After they say "NO" then ask them how they plan on being innocent before God. Godly sorrow leads to repentance.....just like the Bible says. The LAW of the Lord is perfect in converting the soul.....just like the Bible says. I see someone has been listening to Ray Comfort. lol
