  1. That is possible, but as for now the mysterious "great city" fits NYC with great detail. I agree to some degree, but God's word is specific it says a great city and not a nation. Yes, if NYC is destroyed it would effect the US in a catastrophic way. It would most likely cause the whole nation to collapse economically, it would also effect all nations of the world that did business with it. I am pretty sure the world stock markets would crash as well.
  2. I asked you to explain the different forms of slavery in the bible since you accused me of not knowing? Yet, here you are still unable to explain and with more accusations. I would ask you to follow your own advice.
  3. Rev 18 says Mystery Babylon is described as a 'great' merchant CITY not a nation. MB has seaports and does business with the entire world. The word 'great city' refers to a 'mega city' in Greek. NYC is the world's largest mega city and is the wealthiest merchant city in the world. NYC has been dubbed the "Capital of the World" due to its trade alliances and diplomacy with the world. Mystery Babylon is said to reign over the kings of the earth and did you know NYC is the home of United Nations Head Quarters which reigns over the kings of the earth. Mystery Babylon is described as a proud Queen (Statue of Liberty) who sits upon many waters (nationalities), and says I will never see sorrow. NYC is the melting pot of the world and the world's largest mix of nationalities and ethnicities more than any other city of the world. The bible says that in MB are found those who murdered the prophets and saints. Did you know there are more Jewish people living in NYC than any other city of the world to include Jerusalem https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_population_by_city.
  4. In situations like this I am slow to make any judgement calls. I don't trust the narratives the media wants you to believe. Just like in most cases you have to dig for the truth if you are sincere and honest about knowing the truth. I will wait till we get more information and listen to all sides before I determine if it was a accident or something planned.
  5. Yes, I understand. It gets confusing. There are a few schools of thought on this. Some say that Passover and Feast of Unleavened bread overlap each other making Passover as the first day and regarded as a Sabbath. Then there are other schools of thought that say the first day of Unleavened Bread is the high holiday treated like a Sabbath. Today most Jews treat Passover and Feast of Unleavened bread as one event starting on the 15th of Nisan through 22nd. So now throw in the Preparation day as spoken in the gospel as when Jesus was crucified and it gets even more confusing. Sabbaths have preparation days, so was the NT authors calling the Passover a preparation day? Then on top of all this if you throw in the ancient Hebrew Luner calendar which is different from the current Jewish Calendar it gets even more confusing. Some people celebrate Passover based on ancient Hebrew Luner Calendar vs. the current Jewish Calendar and have completely different dates for Passover.
  6. I am sure he did...Jesus said that you will be thrown out of churches/assemblies/synagogues for his name sake. These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. [Jhn 16:1-3 KJV]
  7. I think there are universal moral laws that are also upheld by Judeo-Christian values that should be enforced such as: Murder, Theft, Bearing False Witness, Rape, Marriage, Pedophilia to include pornography/sexualizing school children, Incest, etc... I don't think there is anyone in politics who is a Christian is advocating for religious laws outside of universal moral laws nor a state run religious system. In fact, the constitution says congress shall make no law regarding religion and the practice there of.
  8. Your days are still off. First I would like to say, Its funny how early today you were defending Good Friday as the day Jesus died and then rose before Sunday morning which is less than 1.5 days in the grave to this new view and now act like you are a subject matter expert on this topic. lol Being that Jesus was crucified on the preparation day (13th of Nisan) before Passover (14th of Nisan) and was placed into the tomb BEFORE the sun went down in order to avoid defiling the high sabbath/Passover day. (We know that Jesus died around 3pm aka ninth hour) Therefore, Jesus was placed in the tomb somewhere between 3pm and sunset. Had to be before sunset to avoid defiling the high Sabbath. The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and [that] they might be taken away. [Jhn 19:31 KJV] This would mean on the evening of 16th of Nisan(Sat/Sabbath) before sunset would be the 3rd full day and would be the day he rose from the grave, because when the women who brought spices to the tomb on Sunday before sunrise said he was not there meaning the resurrection had already happened before they arrived.
  9. Still can't believe people are debating over an organization that does not exist. Christian Nationalism is label placed on politicians and their supporters that fight for Christian values.
  10. It was not based on a specific time as you say but based on when the sun went down. That time changes throughout the season. The sun does not go down at the same time each day. During that time people did not have personal watches.
  11. We don't know for a 100% what calendar they used for certian. Historians say they would have most likely used the Roman calendar system since they were under roman rulership but may have also used the Jewish calendar for certain internal events same as they due today.
  12. I would not get too hung up on when the start of a day begins because even the NT writers did not follow evening starts a new day. See the following scripture In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first [day] of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. [Mat 28:1 KJV] The passage says that sunrise was the start of a new day.
  13. These is how it goes: 13th of Nissan: (Wed) Preparation Day also the day he was crucified and placed in the tomb that evening. Passover lambs were slaughtered on the day of preparation. 14th of Nissan: (Thurs) Passover day of celebration | (High Sabbath) Passover evening would have been the first full day in the tomb. 15th of Nissan: (Friday) the women go buy spices to anoint Jesus body but waited until after the normal weekly Sabbath to go to the tomb (Luk 23:56) | Friday evening 2nd full day of Jesus being in the tomb. 16th of Nissan: (Sat/Sabbath) the women rested | Sabbath evening would have been the 3rd full day in the tomb and Jesus would have been resurrected on the evening of the Sabbath. 17th of Nissan: (Sunday) the women show up to the tomb with spices on Sunday morning but Jesus was not there he had already been resurrected the night before.
  14. Even that calendar is slightly wrong. The Passover starts on the 14th of Nissan so the Preparation day would be the day before which would be the 13th of Nissan. 'The LORD'S Passover is on the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight. [Lev 23:5 AMP]
  15. That would make Jesus statement false for saying he would be dead and buried 3 day and 3 nights...and it does not matter if your following the Jewish definition of a day that starts at sundown or current day that starts at midnight. You still need three days and three nights. By way I don't believe Jesus was crucified on Friday but on the Preparation day before the Passover which would have been on a Wednesday or Thursday based on the Jewish calendar for that year. The first day of the Passover is treated like a Sabbath meaning their is a Preparation day prior to the first day of Passover.
  16. Because Jesus had to be dead and buried for 3 full days according to his own words: 3 days and 3 nights (For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. [Mat 12:40 KJV]) and not partial days as you seem to suggest. So according to easter tradition he was placed in the tomb on Friday evening, so Saturday evening would be the first full day, Sunday evening the second full day, Monday evening the 3rd full day.
  17. What part do you disagree? How do you interpret those scriptures, otherwise? I understand that there are some bad marriages out there but that still does not overthrow the institute of marriage that God created. Each man and women will have to answer for their actions be it good or evil. I am sure we can all find hypotheticals and emotional based arguments to say otherwise, but at the end of the day God's word still stands true.
  18. It is obvious the stance from the bible regarding women submitting themselves to a godly husband. The question is, should a women submit themselves also if they are married to unbeliever who does not submit to Christ? Well I think the bible addresses this as well. First of all, The bible says we are not to be equally yoked with unbelievers, but their are situations where a spouse becomes a believer after they were married. What does the bible say in this situation? And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such [cases]. But God has called us to peace. For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save [your] husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save [your] wife? [1Co 7:13-16 NKJV] Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, ... Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust...Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, [1Pe 3:1 -1Pe 2:13, 18 ]
  19. Kingdom of God and Kingdom of Heaven are interchangeable. You will find places in the scriptures where one author will use Kingdom of Heaven and another author choosing to use Kingdom of God to describe the same quotes from Jesus. Compare the following example: And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:23-24 (NASB) And Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:24-25 (NASB) Here are few more examples: He answered and said unto them, “Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.” Matthew 13:11 (NASB) And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: Mark 4:11 (NASB) -- He presented another parable to them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed . . . Matthew 13:31 (NASB) And He said, “How shall we picture the kingdom of God . . . It is like a mustard seed . . . Mark 4:30-31 (NASB)
  20. So, why don't you explain the different forms slavery listed in the bible that God permits, so we can all be clear?
  21. Then add in the fact that Jesus could not have been raised on easter Sunday morning given the following: If he was crucified on good Friday and buried that night. That would make Saturday night the first full day in the tomb. Sunday night would be the 2nd full day in the tomb. Monday night would be the third full day in the tomb. Otherwise that would make the following quote from Jesus inaccurate: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. [Mat 12:40 KJV]
  22. She was in the right because God had already spoke to her that Jacob was going to receive the blessing instead of Esau. And not only so, but also when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad...she was told, "The older will serve the younger." As it is written, "Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated." [Rom 9:10-13] And Isaac prayed to the LORD for his wife, because she was barren. And the LORD granted his prayer, and Rebekah his wife conceived. The children struggled together within her, and she said, "If it is thus, why is this happening to me?" So she went to inquire of the LORD. And the LORD said to her, "Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the older shall serve the younger." [Gen 25:21-23 ESV] Plus, Esau sold his birth right to Jacob. She was being obedient to God. And yes she could have prayed for God to intervene but often chooses to work though people. In the same way David could have prayed for God to defeat Goliath without ever facing Goliath in battle but that was not the case.
  23. I think I agree with your statements. I also feel most church's are misusing money. Most church's have a big budget for their staff pay, big budget for their facility, and big budget for future facility plans, but then have a tiny or no budget for evangelism, and the same for taking care of the poor. I think churches should have a full disclosure of where the money goes posted out front so everyone in their church can see where the tithes and offerings goes.
  24. Both the husband the wife have an obligation to obey God first. Also, both the husband and wife should value and honor each other as God intended. When it comes to obedience a wife should respect and honor her husbands request as long as they are within God's will and commandments. God always comes first. A good example of this type of disobedience is Isaac and Rebeka. Isaac wanted to bless Esau his firstborn but Rebeka knew that God intended to bless Jacob and therefor misled and even disobeyed Isaac's wishes to ensure the blessing went to Jacob as God intended.
  25. I am sure this topic is going to go well in this generation.
