  1. doesn't make a bit of sense does it...
  2. I saw a woman on the news either last night or the night before..kind blurs.. but she said Focus on the Family and those who oppose pro-choice are haters... I mean.. killing someone is the ultimate hate if you ask me... She was talking about those haters who have the nerve to air a commercial about choosing life instead of death... mind boggling to me how they can be so dang screwed up in their thinking... sigh....
  3. I have a young cousin whom the doctors told her her baby was going to be born deformed and she needed to have an abortion.. after much battling over it she said "no"..Praise God.. Her daughter was born just fine ... It is scary to think of all the times women "chose" because of their dr prodding them to abort their child.. and I am glad the station is allowing the spot to air.. the abortion advocates are fighting it though.. Praying that they are unsuccessful in their attempt...
  4. I do wish I knew more of what you are asking.. If there is a burden on your heart for someone pray and pray and use whatever words or even groaning that I shared in the above scripture...If you are in tune with the Lord you are praying as He would have you pray... do not worry about what you say so much as letting your heart free to hear Him and voice His will in your prayers... If Your prayer is repetitious then perhaps there is a reason... Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions,as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Praying, for you, is not what this is talking about... You are not praying with vain repetitions ..You are seeking the Lord for those He loves..... The main thing is seeking Him and His will for the one you are burdened for...... focus on that .... Lord Bless you and open your heart and mind and spirit as to how He wants you to pray ...
  5. I think every one who answers this will have a different answer as I believe our prayers are special and personal.. I trust God to both speak to me whom to pray for and to give me release from those who I feel burdened for .. when that burden is lifted I believe the need is either not there any more or He has put the burden on someone else to pray for a season.. Just trust God to answer your heart ... He will meet His children in His way and His time .. I trust Him as much as I can with this flawed heart of mine... and it is a privilege to be a part of praying for each other.. And there is a Scripture I really really like because so many times my heart is so grieved by things our "family" in Christ suffer.. Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Rom 8:27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Rom 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
  6. Ya'll have fun.. I love sci-fi but hate gore and tehy say there is plenty of that..and the language is said to be very very bad... I will watch a nice chick flick ..
  7. God can prompt us but He will never take away our ability to choose.. In no way is God responsible for this.. It is horrible that the devil got hold of this child's mind so early in his life and I cannot imagine the sorrow his parents must be feeling right now.. We had some friends whose son hanged himself and it was horrible... Praying for his family ..all of them and those who loved him that He will give them comfort and peace in this terrible time of their lives...
  8. Well.. it is not a new idea... 1Ki 1:1 Now King David was old and advanced in years. And although they covered him with clothes, he could not get warm. 1Ki 1:2 Therefore his servants said to him, "Let a young woman be sought for my lord the king, and let her wait on the king and be in his service. Let her lie in your arms, that my lord the king may be warm." 1Ki 1:3 So they sought for a beautiful young woman throughout all the territory of Israel, and found Abishag the Shunammite, and brought her to the king. 1Ki 1:4 The young woman was very beautiful, and she was of service to the king and attended to him, but the king knew her not.
  9. and I hope it is a good thing she is left in care..God knows... Praying for her that she remain faithful and will grow into a witness to His power in peoples lives...
  10. Now... read this... Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. Rom 8:3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, Rom 8:4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Rom 8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. Rom 8:6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. Rom 8:7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Rom 8:8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Rom 8:9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. Rom 8:10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Rom 8:11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
  11. 1Jn 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1Jn 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Believe it...
  12. So hard to watch a little one suffer so much .. so hard.. Praying for the Lord to immerse her in His Spirit and comfort her as she heals and continues to heal in the days ahead.. for her mom and dad and grand-mom and granddad and all those who love her so much.. May you all find Him to be the strength you need to walk through this ....
  13. Bless Brother Pat .. he is an old man and I forgive him for his comments .. May the Lord show him what He Himself said when disaster struck ... Luk 13:2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? Luk 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Luk 13:4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? Luk 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
  14. Well now that never crossed my mind...
  15. Well ...another direction is careful what your dreams are.. You could end up with a mouth full of feathers...
  16. We have a lot more to be thankful for than we are usually conscious of.. May we be more conscious of all God has blessed us with.. thank You Lord for toilet paper...
  17. I still cant get the hang of that, do I highlight, then click on quote, then click on reply ? last time I tried it just quoted the whole post? I'm not griping though, at least I've got fingers to type this. Click on the "quote" then click on reply.. then delete that part of the quote you don't want in or even change the color by highlighting it and clicking the color icon.. and you can even spell check if you are up to it..
  18. I saw many years ago that aarp was run by liberals and never had anything to do with them... never will either.. good for the folks who are "burning their card" obama will not always be president...
  19. If we are His children we are bearing fruit... we are new creations in Christ Jesus..rooted and grounded in Him... and I think the "Fruit of the Spirit " Scripture perfect .. I also love the Scripture you quoted because it is such a tremendous encouragement to my heart.. I remember the first day I "heard" it.. He promises that if we bear a little fruit He will prune us and cause us to bear more.. YES!!! We are all in different stages of growth but we all have growth.. . that promise is for all..you will be pruned by His love to bring forth more and more fruit .. Sometimes a simple smile to someone is just the ticket for them.. all they need to brighten their hearts.. Let the light of Christ shine out of you... Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
  20. It is not so much the suffering of those on tv that causes my heart to ache but the suffering of those here and on other boards .. so much God's children are going through but not without hope ... There is so much pain out there that only God can touch and comfort .. I have learned not to ask why..but to trust God knows the why ... "why" can too easily turn into accusation against God .. The best question is "how do I pray".. You said you are spared .. that caused me pause... I do not know anyone who is spared suffering ... it is part of this fallen state.. Your answer, Pray and trust God for those your heart aches for for.. He is able to meet them in all they are facing in this life.. working all things toward good... although at the moment of suffering it is hard to see.. Very hard indeed to see.. so Pray.. trust God.. and if he gives you a comforting word share it ... We need each other to help us through the suffering of this life... Praying for you that God will show you how to pray, how to accept the burden of prayer, and how to release it back to Him..
  21. He was on O'reilly last night and said he was willing to take the heat from those who hate Christianity.. There are a lot of good folks on Fox.. He is definitely one of them... an example of 2 Timothy 4:2
  22. Maybe this will help you.. Jas 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
