  1. Don't know exactly when, but compare what they bible says will happening at the time with what's happening now. To me, it sounds a lot alike. Just a thought.........
  2. hey tigs, Jesus is still in control. The times of the end are in is hand. (((((((( tigger )))))))))
  3. Keeping in mind that I'm not a bible scholar by any means, it might be worth keeping an eye on the European Union and how it may relate to end times prophecy. A sizable portion of what is now in the European Union was once in the Roman Empire. Also, if I understand it correctly, Turkey (a predominantly Muslim county) has an application pending for the E.U. and E.U. leaders are at least willing to consider membership for other mostly Muslim counties. Just a thought to see how it plays out.
  4. I have heard several interpretations of Revelation 17 & 18 (as I'm sure everyone has). As far as the "religious system" is concerned, who will buy into it? The people who haven't accepted Jesus as Savior. With that in mind, I wouldn't want to have anything to do with it regardless of who is involved with or in leadership of it. As far as the governmental system is concerned, it looks like (to me, anyway) that the anti-christ will have quite a bit of influence in it as well as the world economic system by extension. That would seem to leave a lot of room for individual nations to be involved in some way regardless of where the "capital" is.
  5. If it was up to me, I would recommend caution with dating sites (Christian or otherwise). While I don't have personal experience, I know people who have success stories and others who have horror stories in such situations. Not that such sites are inherently good or bad but it pays to be cautious sometimes.
  6. The way I read it, it looks like there will be a world governmental system during the end times. As far as where it will be located or headquartered who know. It also seems like there will be a false religious system going on at the same time. Of course if there are those who will buy into the anti-christ and his system, they would likely buy into the false religious sytem too.
  7. If I have the geography figured out correctly most (if not all) of the territory that makes up the current EU was in the Roman Empire back when. That lends a lot of credence to the speculation that the a.c. may come from an EU member nation. Is the Revived Empire the EU? thx; in Him; -c-
  8. All the posts are right on. Amen to all. Just would remind everyone of Paul's admonishment in 1 Corinthians 14 regarding all the Spritual Gifts: "Let everything be done decently and in order."
  9. It's important to study the book of Revelation but it's also important to study the other 65 books of the bible too. I've been reading through the bible and it seems to me that things come together a lot better when we "look at the big picture" so to speak.
  10. Just a thought to throw out....... God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply and then said the same thing to Noah and his family when they came off the ark after the flood. These are the only two instances that I can find where God has said this to anyone. Is it possible that this could have had some impact on reproduction and populating of the earth? Just a thought.......What do you think?
  11. From what the bible says, I'm inclined to believe that Jesus will rapture His church to be with Him. The passage in 1 Thessalonians referenced earlier (among others) suggests such an event. The timing of the rapture seems to generate a lot of discussion; hence the pre-trib, mid-trib and post-trib points of view. But keep smiling; Jesus IS coming back and it's closer today than it's ever been.
  12. Amen Ernie The Bible says that there are those who will fall away and be lukewarm. But Jesus is faithful to redeem those who seek after Him. Praise the Lord.
  13. I've heard a few ideas of who the two witnesses would be. Moses, Elijah and Enoch are the ones most commonly mentioned. While the different ideas have a certain amount of plausability I would be VERY uneasy of being dogmatic about it or building a doctrine around it. Getting that deep into would be "adding to" what the Book of Revelation says.
  14. Chapter 9 of Daniel gives us some hints with regard to the anti-christ. The way I read it, it looks like the anti-christ will come from the territory that made up the Roman Empire and will be the one to spearhead a treaty of some kind with Isreal. Just a thought to ponder
  15. Yes it is quite difficult to share the truth of God with someone of another faith. But that is what Jesus expects in the great commission (Go into all the world and preach the gospel). You sound like you have a strong burden for people to come to know Jesus. Amen and Praise God. \o/ Keep praying for them and keep voicing the truth in love.
  16. It appears that John was given a vision of how the end times would play out and culminate in the return of Jesus and God's judgement. The vision included what was happening on earth as well as in heaven. I can only surmise that John was describing what he saw as best he could. Think of it - being given a vision of the very Throne of God as the end times are playing out - how could anyone describe it; I know it would be difficult for me. For what it's worth, that's my take on it.
  17. I would recommend starting out with the Gospels (starting with John) then Acts and Romans. Those books would give a solid foundation of the christian message.
