Struggling with friendships
MK202002 replied to ice--eyes's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Philippians 3:13 But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. -
Ex-boyfriend trouble
MK202002 replied to InternalFlame's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
I smell a game! It's the "please pity me, sweet girl, I am really a nice guy who only wants the best for you please help me game!" Wanna play?! The only way to win it to: 1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. I Love Jesus' idea was a good one, about bringing a guy Christian friend along. I think it would bring motives to light. And I would recommened making him stay away from you, the worst thing that could happen is to get wrapped up in something that could damage your relationship with Christ. He knows where to find you: in Christ. -
Hmm....I feel an experiment coming on. I'll try not bring food to group and see what happens. Maybe they will appriciate just sitting and talking with one another. Maybe they will eat ME!

I would like to meet someone that was really shocked that the Palestinian government couldn't handle it. At first I didn't even believe Israel would go through with the pull-out.

Check Your Heart: Do You Love Arabs?
MK202002 replied to WayneB's topic in Most Interesting News Developments
I see two extemes on this issue. One is hatred, the other just as sinful being friends with the world. We have to remember these countries persecute our brothers and sisters in Christ, often openly and unapologetically. I'm sure Christians that live in those countries must love their countries very much, how can you pray for your country and not love it? Of course we can't hate the Islamic people, but just because some writer dined on fava beans in Egypt does not mean he has seen both sides of the coin. His tour guide did a good job. I'm sorry for sounding cynical, but I see so many people jumping back from condeming with hatred that they go with the other extreme, embracing it all without a thought. So, I think what I am trying to say, simply, that love and acceptance are two seperate issues, never ever to be confused. And hatred and condeming evil things are two seperate things. -
I felt a little uncomforatable at first when I saw the Holy Spirit working so visibly. Tounges, healings, words of knowlege for specific people; But the only thing I really saw was people praising Jesus Christ more. If this was not of God, and it was some twisted instrument of the devil (as some people had told me) his plan at turning Christians away from Christ had failed. And nothing has convinced me otherwise. I don't know how I got along before I was filled with God's Spirit, honestly. I'm a junior member! I'm a junior member! Cha-cha-cha-cha-cha-cha!

capatialism is a wordly system. There is no place on earth now without some kind of wordly system. Capatalism, Communism, Anarchy, Dictatorship, etc... God called us to be in the world but not of the world. So I believe we can do God's good will while still living in these systems, but not partaking in them as the children of the world do. Rev. 5:5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart[a] of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages,[c] and do not damage the oil and the wine!"

I see. I also had a friend point out to me the prophecies of Isaiha and others. They wern't necessarily spoken of in a logical topical order. Isaiha was warning Isreal about disobeying God and all of a sudden "Behold, a virgin will concieve and give birth to a son..." So the nature of prophecy seem consistent here in Daniel also.

yeah...when did that happen? which emporer out of curiosity?

I have a feeling it is Jesus. There is the growing hesitation to say 'Jesus' in the government, school, business and even everyday conversation. It's so easier to say 'God'. more later

Marilyn Manson is a member of the church of Satan. I imagine he gives them money, so don't buy his CDs. Yeah, he took 'manson' from Charles Manson, and Marilyn, from Marilyn Monroe. He wrote a book, and in the book he tell the storey of his girlfriend having a third trimester abortion. He asked the doctor if he could keep the dead baby, and he offered it as a "offering" to Satan. Sick, huh? But he did write a book, I will try to find the title for you, and you can really find out how backwards he is.

I finally had to set a structured prayer and bible time for myself. I give myself free reign for the rest of the day to praise God as I feel like it, but I make myself do this on scedule everyday. (not to say I don't still mess up, but it does help) Also, praying in the Spirit dailey has opened new doors of God's strength that I could not imagine before. Hey- I really like your posts. They always encourage me and challenge me in my dailey walk with God. Thank you, Kalashnikova

I was taught that one believer can use several gifts. But God may call him or her to use one more than the other, too build a particular ministry. But just do what God says, and you'll be ok. It was Peter that healed the beggar at the gate and used the gift of miracles to raise Dorcus from the dead. Acts 3 and 9. Yes, you have to exercise, if you will, everything God gives you. Faith comes through hearing the word, Romans 10:17 1 Peter 4:10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

tough question... if we (as christians that don't take the beast's mark) are given authority to rule and reign with Christ, I guess we need someone to rule over....We can't all have the same amount of authority in the millenium. I'm drawing conclusions, I don't know a scripture that clearly answers your question. The Bible says that all the nations will worship Him, but I don't know if that will be a willing thing, or just something the new government (us) will make them do. oh, here's a scripture! Survivors of the nations who attack Jeruselem at Armagedon: Zechriah 14:16 Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain. 18 If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The LORD [d] will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 19 This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. These verses make much more sense if you read them in context.

here is a prophecy scripture: Corinthians 14:3But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. Sounds like it fits the description. I was cleaning the bathroom floor one day and God dropped the idea to call a friend of mine and ask her if she was reading her bible. And i did, and it helped her. But, like you, I don't know what catogory to put that in.

I saw Jesus walking, and I saw myself following Jesus, and a person who I desperatly wanted saved was following me. I took this as a encouragement to keep on following Jesus. I don't remember when I had the dream (I should have written it down) but later on they gave their life to Christ!

yes, baptism is a word that does not necessarily have to do with water. But there was a ceremony in the Bible were new believers were immersed in water- what other 'baptism' could the author of Acts be referring to? The context looks very clear. I am refering to our baptism, when we go into the water, most believers have it done right after they confess Christ, and they hold your nose and dip you under water for a second. This is the baptism that I'm talking about in this thread. And just because we think the water baptism is necessary, doesn't mean we trust in the water. Now these are just examples and I don't want to get off topic : But if you take communion, are you automattically putting your trust in the juice and crackers? If you pray, are you putting trust into your prayer? If you witness to someone, are you putting your trust in you words? No. We put our trust in God, and he says if we do these things and trust Him he will work with them. ----------- No, I am not saying our baptisms are invalid because they did not say 'Jesus' when they baptized us with water. I am saying that I can find no biblical examples of anyone doing it the common (Father, Son, Holy Ghost) way, and it worries me.

Some recent news updates relating to this subject- Russian government has offered to sell Iran nuclear missles, Isreal says they must put an end to Iran's nuclear program by March 2006 (Iran has called for the destruction of Israel). Syria and Iran have supposably signed an agreement to take care of each other's nuclear capabilties in case the rest of the world community comes down on either of them. The tension is mounting up, and yes, I think all this will spill over and there will be on third less people on this earth in the end of 2006. Very soon, I'm guessing. Everyone has to hear the gospel of Jesus. Recently, the Iraq elections took place- they were painted as a huge success by the papers. Will Bush decide to withdrawl? Maybe that could trigger the trouble. Or what length would he go to the fight the war of terror if it should get worse? But I am positive that this is the beginning of WW3. Revelation 9:13-20

Mr and Mrs. Sealed Eternal- thank you for responding to the thread, but I would really like to keep the direction of this thread away geared from the importance and method of baptism. I would like to keep the focus on the topic of Who we are baptized into, and why is the name of Jesus relavant or not when being baptized. Other one- yeah, I got to thinking about all those times in the old testement were people saw God Almighty and did not die. Sampson's parents, Jacob, Hagar in the desert, and the 3 Israilites that Nebuchadnezzar threw in the furnace, etc. I know, it says 'angel of the Lord', but they said "we have seen God". So Jesus must have had some kind of body before he was born? Hey everybody- if we can baptize in the name of the Father and have it be valid, then why wern't there Christians before Jesus was born?

Very simple. You willl never hear anything from God that goes against scripture. So if the voice tells you that you should go jump off a bridge, you know it's not from God. But if the voice comes out of nowhere, telling you to encourage a friend in need, why doubt that? We are suppose to encourage each other but we often forget. God gives us gentle reminders. I have heard the voice of God, once. I heard it as sure as I'm sitting here but it's not something I talk about too often. It was simple words that were affirming and I fell apart at the impact it had on me. That was three years ago and sometimes you just want to hear it again so badly, but it doesn't happen. I have stopped questioning as to why and accepted that if He wants to speak audibly to me, He will. I think we can hear God everyday in our prayers if we just remain quiet and listen for Him. We often come to him in prayer with an agenda and a long list of wants. When we praise Him and then remain quiet and wait for him to speak, the thoughts begin to come. And you know they are of Him because they come out of the blue and are far from what you were thinking. I have also found that the longer I spend in prayer and stillness, the more He speaks. He wants more than 5 minutes of my time. Some of the best prayer time I've had are the 3:00am wake-ups. I know that some of you know what I'm talking about. You wake up.....wide awake and feel a heavy burden to pray but you're not exactly sure why. I move to my living room and wrap myself in a blanket and remain quiet. People start coming to mind and I pray. He always lets me know when I'm done. The really cool part is when that happens, I find myself refreshed the next day. Not tired from lack of sleep. I think God speaks quietly. We will never hear him if we can't be still. I'm not charismatic to be sure but this article really spoke to my heart. http://www.layhands.com/HowToHearGodsVoice.htm In His Love~ Totallyatpeace thank you
