Wow! A 4th of July launch! Reminds me of the movie Independence Day!

After 22 years of marriage, I still enjoy making myself look nice every day for my husband. That includes how I dress, too. I feel kind of naked without make up.

Can either one of you take on an extra job for a set amount of time? Use that income to pay off the debt with the highest interest rate and then start on the next one. Knowing that you won't have two jobs forever is an important thing to understand if you should choose this method. An extra job can be one day on a weekend, or three evenings. Not too much time away from family. Have a 6 month plan, a one year plan and a two year plan. At the end of every month, evaluate how you've done and what you can do better the following month. Rachel, it sounds like God has done a beautiful work in your life over the last few years and he will honor your desire to rid yourself of debt. I'd really encourage you to pick up the book Money, Possessions and Eternity by Randy Alcorn. This would make great reading while you are working on this issue. I'd be happy to mail you a copy for free if that would help. There are some other things I would recommend to cut your spending while you are doing this. 1) If you see something you want to purchase because it is "such a great deal", wait 48 hours before you make the purchase. Does it fit into the budget? Do you really need it? 2) Eat what's on sale. In other words, don't make a grocery list by what sounds good to eat, make your menu plans based on what's on sale. You can save a ton of money that way. 3) Hold a garage sale and put the money straight to debt. 4) Get rid of all credit cards with the exception of one low interest visa or mastercard. If you have multiple credit cards, combine them into a zero interest card for one year. You probably receive these offers in the mail every week. I know I do! 5) And yes.....get some good Christian counseling to make sure you have a very good plan of action. Whatever you do, do not claim bankruptcy and definitely hang onto the house. I'll never forget about 4 years ago (Long before DaVinci Code) I was sitting in my living room reading my Bible as I usually do, and out of the blue I thought....."What if it's all a lie?" Sitting and comtemplating that question as more than a passing thought that Satan had planted, was the beginning of a downfall that was very difficult to stop. Within a few months I had spiraled into a doubt so severe that I couldn't find my way out. I have been a Christian for over 30 years, and a comitted Christian at that. If you want a good understanding of Revelation, check out the link in my sig. I was cluesless as to end-time events until I started to study it and what I've discovered is how beautifully the Bible is written. To see how Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelation fit together is enough to make anyone have to seriously consider how anyone could possibly doubt that the Word of God could be anything but, the living Word of God.

He is also being comforted by the enemy.............which is even scarier.

Fasting gives me clarity of mind. The longest I have fasted is 3 days and by the third day I felt mental clarity while reading or praying, etc.

I would say the biggest problem I have with the church today is the "I" focus. It's all about accomplishing this or accomplishing that. This program and that program. The whole church reading and folllowing a book, rather than the Bible. I miss the hymns. Not because I prefer the style of music but because the music focuses on God and His attributes and not what I can get from God--------------- as if he's a Jeannie in a lamp.

I think it's a wonderful idea and with my memory, it's also a wonderful crutch. There are too many bigger things to worry about in the church today.

For Pete's sake.................it's a fiction movie. How come Christians don't rise up against all the demonic horror flicks that have been released lately?

I agree that we don't agree with the content of the movie but how will the general public see the movie? Is it written well? Is the acting good? Can we assume it will go to the Oscars because it's done well? (And because it's anti-Christian?) Rania
