  1. Yeah, I'm really going to go through with it. It's really, really complicate... I'll just date him until I find someone else, and then I can gently let him down. My parents are probably paying him to date me anyway, so it's not like he's going to let his emotions get involved or anything. Besides, he's a Doctor, so I'm sure he has better things to do than attempt to romance me all day. Do you really think this a wise course of action? Just because he's a doctor does not make him a good or respectable person.
  2. Hiya Marnie! I sure know how you feel. Try being 41 and still looking. When I was younger the women I met or was introduced to seemed very self centered and self possessed. Now, if they are not married or divorced, they seem mostly bitter and resentful or vapid and looking for daddy to take care of them. I understand your frustrations but keep your chin up or you may just walk by Mr. Right.
  3. Interesting he said that the cease fire could last 20 years. Thats the maximum length of time that muslims are allowed to have a truce with non muslims. Not that I think they would stop for even 1 hour. They have never honored a cease fire.
  4. It took me about 2 years to find a church that was alive AND careing toward all.
  5. It is NOT 144,000 saved during the tribulation. The 144,000 are the sealed from the remenant of Isreal who will go forth and spread the Holy Word. There will be many, many more that are saved during the tribulation. The Bible speaks of an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and a great soul harvest. In other words there will be a large number of people saved during that time. Do not confuse the 144,000 with the total number of those who will be saved.
  6. Then, Axe, until you are willing to listen, or until you are able to show me specific facts backing up the interpretation of your sect of Christianity on the Bible's passages pertaining to homosexuality in order to change my opinion, I am going to begin ignoring you again. Nothing personal, you simply contribute nothing towards the goal of meaningful discussion and debate. 1 Cor. 6:9&10 "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Tim. 1:10 " and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching" One question: Why do you always "Ignore" those that refuse to accept what you think when we KNOW it is contrary to the word of God? Go ahead and ignore me as well if you wish. What is the greek and aramaic word that is translated as "homosexual"? When I get home from work I will be able to answer this.

  8. The best advice has been given many times here. Go to the Pastor. If nothing is done about it then it may be time to move on to another church. Also, you may want to ask some of the other women if they have an issue with this man. You should be able to tell by their faces how they feel about him when he approaches. If there are more that feel uncomfortable then a group meeting with the pastor should be in order.
  9. Everybody in America has their DNA on file with the FBI. They get it from all those pennies. Why else would they keep pennies in circulation?
  10. I remember those verses. I drove my mom nuts with them when I was 13 to 15 and wanted to be a paleontologist.
  11. This is GREAT!!! Not to step on any toes here, but I see this in this manner. Not only were you baptized in water, but you were baptized by the Holy Spirit! The emotion is there, and you can just feel it all around you! I see a difference between a christening of a baby, who does not know what or why this is happening, and a baptisim of an adult that has full understanding. Blessings to you!!
  12. Actually, most of the percieved contridictions comes from translations. It is near impossible to translate 1 language into another, especially when the languages are seperated by centuries of use. As in ancient Hebrew, or Greek, or Aramiac into English, or contemporary English. Which is why many people try to learn the ancient languages that the scriptures were written in.
  13. Yeah. When they are done there will be a piece here, a piece there, another on the other side of the hill........
  14. I have the e-sword on my laptop, and absolutly love it! Easy to use, update with new Bibles, lots of commentaries.
  15. If you have ever read the "Left Behind" books you may get a kick out of this article. (especially the first line) By EDITH M. LEDERER, Associated Press WriterTue Dec 5, 1:10 AM ET The global community has failed to live up to a pledge made last year to protect civilians caught in armed conflicts, the U.N. humanitarian chief said Tuesday in his final briefing to the Security Council before leaving his post. Jan Egeland cited Iraqi militias, Israel and Palestinian militants as some of the worst perpetrators of attacks against noncombatants. "Nowhere in the world do more civilians die right now from violence directed against them" than in Iraq, he said. At a U.N. summit in September 2005, world leaders pledged to protect civilians from genocide, war crimes and ethnic cleansing. A Security Council resolution adopted in April reaffirmed their agreement. "Last year as members of the United Nations you solemnly pledged to accept the responsibility to protect civilian populations," Egeland said. "We are sadly still far away from seeing this responsibility translate into predictable and adequate action." Even though recent analysis indicates that the number of conflicts declined by 40 percent since 1989, he said, civilians are increasingly the victims. Attacks against noncombatants increased by 55 percent between 1989 and 2005, Egeland said, with the most significant increase occurring in the last five years. Egeland cited several reasons for the increase
  16. AMEN BROTHER!! During the milenium you will bow your knee to Him. Each person born during the milenium will have 100 years to decide to follow Him or not. Those who dont, plain and simply, will be called accursed and die. It will be a government about and for God. Totally and without exception! Sounds like a theocracy to me. However, the benifits of this are more glorious than can be imagined! The problem with theocracies today is that they are run by man. Though they may pay lip service to God, or whatever animal they choose to worship ( i say this tongue in cheek) it is still run by man, hence subject to sin from within. Show me ANY government run by man and I will show you a government riddled with sin, falsehoods, lies and deciet.
  17. This is because only 1% of adults are willing to give their lives to the pursuit of money, while the bottom 50% either will not put forth the effort, or see other things as more valuable. I will not decry those who work at becoming rich, and the richest of all of them are the ones that work the hardest. They think constantly of business. When at work, at home, in the shower, even in their sleep. Many have sid their best ideas came in dreams. They have a goal and they bust hump to get there. The bottom 50% is made up of those who are content with their lives or those who have a substantialy lower drive to succeed. It does take a massive amount of effort to make and keep that much money. Just look at how many of those bottom 50% have won millions in a lottery and declare bankruptcy within a few years. I see this study as another push for acceptance of socialism. Take from those who produce to give to those who dont.
  18. I am doing good if I am operating at all at 3pm!! But that is an excellant point, and one that most people have never considered. It is also possible, and has been done, that a film be held for release for a year or 2 after completion because of stiff compitition at the box office.
  19. Now THAT is just too funny!!! Not sure if I would though.
  20. If nothing else it will shut up the Lunar CT's about how the lunar landings were really movies made on a sound stage. Well, actually no. They will prolly say the lunar base is a sound stage in Berkley.
  21. Hmmmm, let me see if I have this right....... It's too hot today, it must be global warming. It's too cold today it must be global warming. Accurate records have not been kept for more than 100 years, and actually for far less time than that. The key word here is accurate. Sure, newspapers would put small points about the temperatures sometimes, but most scientists did not even know about the Jet Stream untill just before World War 2. If scientists think we are going to create another ice age then the question is "Where did the civilization with all the cars and environmentaly destructive industries go when the so called first ice age, that was how many millions of years ago, was created? My final thought is this. Can man, in all his arrogance, possibly destroy what God has created? How many species that were said to be extinct have been found recently? Quite a few if you are truely honest. Scientists, or rather ecologists are wasting too much time with faulty research that is set in the micro, then trying to apply it to the macro. Just my 2 cents.
  22. 1000 willing to murder Jews in exchange for 1 soldier. Sounds fair to me.
  23. Of course the arc is not there. It is in Ethiopia............
  24. Gotta push hard to get the initial acceptance. Once that first hurdle is covered it is easy to lead the goats the rest of the way.
