I know what you mean. For years, I thought the US will always stand with Israel no matter what; however, the lines have gotten very blurred. Sometimes I think believers are more into Israel's roots than they are. When trying to discuss these things, people say no, statistics indicate that there aren't more earthquakes than before, etc. But when the tangible things start happening; i.e. temple being built, that 7 year agreement - surely more people will see.

Yes, that's the verse - Thanks! When I read about this couple's decision for both to apologize, I saw wise decision making.

You're smart to ask for advice early on - You've gotten some very good advice so far - all the keys to a successful marriage are in the Bible - putting Yahweh first - which has already been mentioned, wife respect you and you love her - find out what that really means to each of you and communicate it to the other; also tried to find the verse that says don't go to sleep before resolving conflicts (one couple decided that they would both apologize to each other when they have disagreements before retiring); and a borrower is a servant to the lender (with today's financial resources, we should be the most financially savvy generation ever). Sometimes I wonder if the word servant should have read "slave." hehehe blessings -

post #15 - the verse that's being referred to - doesn't say that the seasons will cease - just that it will be difficult to determine based on the weather. Still looking also.

Am 9:13 "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt." KJV This isn't the verse that I remember that it means the same thing, doesn't it? The verse that I'm thinking of was referred to on a couple of websites but they didn't give the scriptural basis. I had just spent some time looking for the following verse b/c I thought it said 10 but it's 7 - Isa 4:1 "When that day comes, seven women will grab one man and say, "We'll eat our own food and provide our own clothes. Just let us marry you for your name. Take away our disgrace." If the above verse isn't it, can you remember a word or phrase that we could use to search for? I searched for "season" and "seasons" in biblegateway.

Need help; White Dove Ministries - anyone know if it?

Paul Keith Davis has a very good attitude, demeanor, is humble, servant minded, etc. -
OP - The verse you're referring to - the weather is so "off," you can't determine what season it is?

Getting alone with the Lord and meditating on His Word is scriptural but I don't believe in emptying minds like yoga does. Joshua 1:8 "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, ..." and Matt 6:6 "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret;"

Yeah, out of the 2nd program the only thing that seemed to bother her was women's rights. Only saw the 1st hour of the 3rd program which seemed to be a surprise to her - the influence of our faith on our politics - you know with the first 2 nights being filled with that idea yet it seemed like a new idea to her. It was obvious that she thought some ideas were very funny especially compared to what was shown in the 2nd program.

question for those that attend churches where you can "Feel it.&q

One thing that I don't see on this thread yet or I could have overlooked it - One reason we go to church is the glorify God, Yahweh. When our hearts and minds get set on Him and not ourselves, He will bless us b/c He inhabits the praises of His people (2 Chron. 5:13). He's the one who knows our hearts. -
Yes, you could tell which way her vote is cast last night - even in her tone - compared to the night before. nebula, Thanks for the links about Amenpour! One thing I'm curious about - if I understood what they said - that a 1000 years ago everyone was under the Islamic religion; therefore, everything was peaceful. What was the position of the Christian church a 1000 yrs.? Of course, I realize that's from their perspective - just wondering how they could have gotten that idea. One thing that really troubled me was the reference to Allah as Lord Almighty. I know who I'm referring to when I say, Lord Almighty but I guess if a Muslim was listening, they might think I mean Allah - and that would not be who I was talking about.

Agree with you- don't ignore "the pause."

Anyone know anything about Christina Amanpour?

Past sins still making me feel miserable.

OP - yes, some believers still have visions. Otherwise, Acts 2:17 is a lie "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:" There are words of knowledge and words of wisdom, office of prophet, speaking prophetically, every believer should prophesy - which means to tell the good news of the gospel b/c the testimony of Christ Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Rev 19:10), etc.
-
OP = I'm not sure what you're trying to say - the scripture says, "...IF it were possible, the very elect would be deceived." Matt 24:24 Prophets are still here until believers are home with Christ Jesus.

To me, just because someone says "prayer" doesn't mean everything is ok; however, when we pray God's will - that's another story.

Concubines did not have the same status as wives; otherwise, i.e., Sarah would not have been able to tell Hagar what to do. The search was for scripture that God had a hand in polygamy and made it happen not just allowing what men had decided to do on their own. Butero, there were some other websites that stated that the translation should not have used the word "wives" but "women" because of the slave girls, etc. So I do appreciate your checking into it. Thanks!

It's scriptural II Chron 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Know exactly what you mean - so recently there's a verse I take to heart. It's draw near to Him and He'll draw near to you. I take that as first I draw near to Him then He'll draw near to me. Just spending time with Him including following the model of the Lord's prayer. Knowing that He's there all the time and at some point it will be confirmed that He is. He doesn't want our relationship to be based on my feelings. He wants me to have faith that He is there all the time.

I've tried to locate a scripture that showed polygamy was God's ideal - II Sam 12:8 states "gave thee" "wives." However - This scripture states that Saul had one wife 1Sa 14:50 "And the name of Saul's wife was Ahinoam, the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of the captain of his host was Abner, the son of Ner, Saul's uncle." At this point, we've got 1 scripture that states "wives" and another one that states "wife." I'm not for polygamy - just trying to see what the Word says. Anyone know of any other scripture to support 1 wife for Saul or more than 1 wife?

Read again yesterday by another author (in the Matthew Henry commentary this time) about unintentional sins. Thanks for your input Ger_Tzedek. By the way, I've been trying to find out how many wives Saul had. Seems all the polygamy verses (I am NOT for polygamy) had to do with men making those decisions. There's one verse, II Sam 12:8, though that says "gave thee" "wives." When 1 verse doesn't line up with all the other scriptures on that topic (in this case one husband and one wife), I wonder where the problem is. In relationship to this verse, I've only been able to find 1 wife for Saul because 2Sa 21:11 "And it was told David what Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, the concubine of Saul, had done." This scripture gives the name of 1 wife - 1Sa 14:50 "And the name of Saul's wife was Ahinoam, the daughter of Ahimaaz: and the name of the captain of his host was Abner, the son of Ner, Saul's uncle." If Saul only had one wife, then the problem is the translation in II Sam 12:8. Just wondering if you might know. Thanks!

No matter what the sets look like, they're going to be criticized. If you had a large ministry, you would be criticized, too. There's no way missionaries can reach the numbers of people that tv does. The guy that's on TBN that reads from The Word that was an actor - can't remember his name. Anyway, his testimony is that he tuned to TBN to make fun of the show - only that time he was saved - happened years ago. How much is one soul worth?
