  1. By the Way Melvin 2007, My father felt as you posted, Yes he did but if I had applied to him like the reasoning of some in this post and took and went to another who was a father too and just because they where a father called them father too. How would that have made my father feel. I know that is probably not the best example but neither is their's that because someone calls allah god then he must be the same as Jehovah God. No way! Dug
  2. Nebula, I am sorry but I must respectfully disagree with you, it does matter what you call Him for He is simply not god with little g But He is God big difference there. Caps G God is God Alone, I know to some they may not see the difference but there is! Not allah nor shiva nor any other god can fit this mold at least that's the way Jewish and Christians believers of Yahweh, Jehovah should feel and the Bible I read says so. When Moses asked Jehovah at the burning bush whom shall I say has sent me? His Reply tell them I Am, I Am Who? I Am God, I Am Provider, I Am Able and on and on... Does not Jehovah say I Am A Jealous God and you shall place no other gods before Him? right! Therefore to simply place Him/Jehovah/Yahweh in the same catergory as other gods is not Respectful to Him. That is why we must never apply the same generic label.IMHO Dug
  3. nebula, What you posted was a generic definition for the word god, not the God of the Bible go back and reference Jehovah or Yahweh Dug
  4. Botz, Clearly it does matter! If you had read my post you would see that I did not just refer to God as God but also included a few of the Names related to Him from the Bible if you consider that allah and any of the several names you mentioned to be your god that is your choice. But my point was that the God we Christians see in the Bible is never refered to as allah to my knowledge maybe you can show me a Biblical reference to such This is the problem we have today of tolerance in our society the god of muslims must be also consider the same or equal to the God of Christians. Which is absolute Hogwash! JEHOVAH, YAHWEH is the Only True God Has always been and will always be, IMHO Dug
  5. Hi Vickilynn, You know if we all could just realize that hey we don't always know all the answers and our views may not always be the best or most correct but if we will allow one another to teach, graciously mind you. Maybe just Maybe we can start to become what God has called us to be His Family All United Together to completely win this world for Him. Some may say that is impossible for we are of many varied beliefs but I believe that My God is All Powerful and Able to Accomplish Whatever He Wills. As far as the Caps. goes, much as my understanding of why some choose to omit when using the Lords Name, I see it as a way of Reverence and Respect and to not do so shows a lack of Respect and Reverence when refering to God or Jesus or any of Their Wonderful Attributes or Actions. I must show Respect and Reverence and Honor to All have been taught so ever since I can remember had very small but stern Mother believed in showing Respect to others and very huge Father who gladly enforced Mothers beliefs. If I must then by all means I must Honor Him Whom is Most Worthy. And like you have written if someone chooses not to do so it is okay but I still think it's disrespectful. I hope and my prayer for you is that where you are that, you first of all find Grace to Witness and the Effectiveness of your words be filled with the Strength of God to get through to your Jewish Brothers and Sisters. Secondly that your responses may always teach as they so far have done me. Dug
  6. So Vickilynn, Respectfully asking about the true reason of omiting vowels of G-d's Name. I am very curious as to why this is so. I find that in the short time I have been on WB, I am always very interested in your responses to certain subjects and am enlightened by you and your insight. Truly a pleasure so far and I am definitely not asking to be slapped, spanked or any other form of physical or verbal abuse, not my cup of tea, just plain old enlightenment. lol Also do you find it or feel disrespected when people don't omit it during correspondence with you? I know I do when people don't Capitalize the Name of the Jesus and such. timidly waiting for a reply. Dug
  7. If God was the same as the muslim allah? Do You not think that you would see it some where in all the fine Bible translations we have. Pick One of the many I have studied I have yet to find one that refered to Yahweh, Jehovah, I Am the Great I Am, (to name a few of the Many Other Names given to Him) as allah. God is just Who He is that is God and God Alone and All Glory is due Him! Dug
  8. Elijah and Paul
  9. Lord, First maybe, My Lord what did I do to deserve so much from You? Then maybe, did it trouble You Lord with all the silly and petty arguing we Christians did amongst ourselves instead of Glorifying and Lifting You Up? Dug
  10. Yes indeed He filled my need, for without Him I was totally lost, Oh Thank You Lord that You Paid the Cost!
  11. Hi to All, Yes this Scripture is very interesting and some may say not applying to today, but oh how so wrong. Obedience is better than sacrifice. To choose to obey God is way better than anything you may think is worthy of sacrificing. To choose to do His Will instead of your's shows who you have placed at the head of your life. Obedience says not my will Lord but Your's. Instead of the petty things we sometimes give up for the Lord. Not indepth but IMHO, Dug

    Original Sin

Thaddeus, I still am having a hard time grasping you post. To the first question you responded correctly it was Adam's disobedience his sin that brought about death. But then you start about Jesus's atonement, friend because of his sin, death came to Adam and all after him, it's fairly simple to me if Adam had not sinned then he would not have died, he would have lived for ever who knows? But bottom line is he did sin and because he did sin he died and all men after him too. Because of sin. How can you say sin does not cause men to die your own scripture says the wages of sin is death? The wages, the fruit of, the result of, the payment for sin is death, IT CAUSED JESUS TO HAVE TO DIE. All men must die naturally but men who die in sin die destined for hell. Men who die having acknowledged Christ as Savior die destined for Heaven. Christs death on the Cross does not stop you from dying it only determines where you end up, if you have accepted Him or not. And what you said about men dying and that would be it if Christ had not done the Atoning Work is completely wrong friend. When you die you don't just return to dust and thats it your body does. Your soul is going somewhere regardless. Again the only determining factor is whether you've accepted Christ or not! NO CHRIST-NO HEAVEN-KNOW HELL KNOW CHRIST-KNOW HEAVEN-NO HELL Very simple, all this came about because of Adam's fall, had he not fallen we would not know sin but he did and we do and that is why we need the Second ManAdam- Jesus Christ Dugmando
  14. Hi ruck1b, I must say I have been taught and tend to believe that exactly as you posted earlier thou shall not kill a commandment of God very clear and very understandable. Now with that said I also have been taught and tend to believe that this body of mine was created by a Magnificent Being called God who very much values me. So much so that He sent His Only Begotten Son to Die for me the created being I am. Now if God values me so much, would it not then be easily understood that if I do any harm to this that God places such an awesome value on, that God would be very angry with me. It's a fearful thing to fall into the hands of an angry God and that is Bible. Yes I do think that goes also for anyone who overeats, smokes, drinks, speeds up and down the highway driving recklessly,so on and so on doing the things and whatever we do that could harm one's self. we will have to pay for our actions but whether that means hell or not that is up to God but IMHO I think you are very close to being more right than wrong. Original Sin

Thaddeus, I some what follow what you are trying to say, but do not agree with it. I think maybe if you could answer for me this. If what you are saying is so, what brought death to Adam his natural state or his disobedience ? What would have been Adams state, if Adam had not disobeyed God's command, would he have lived forever? Simple answer is His disobedience which was sin brought about death a condition he did not know before his disobedience. It is sin which has caused man problem and the reason for Christ's Atonement, Not death. If man had never known sin his relationship with God would not have been broken. But because of Adam's fall man now knows sin which has a curse, a curse that broke man's unique and personal fellowship with God (as we all know God has no part with evil and sin is evil right?)and brings upon him death It's because of sin he/man now knows death. Christ did not die for my death but for my sin, which causes all men to die. Dug

    Original Sin

Wow what a discussion, I do not have as deep an understanding as some here but the verse from 1st Corinthians 15 seem to be a fairly simple concept to understand. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Concept Ist man by his actions brought death What where the actions of or what did the 1st man do? He disobeyed God's command-he sinned, breaking the Relationship the Creator had with His Creation bringing a seperation from the Creator. The 1st man by his disobedience/sin brought upon himself and his descendants the curse or the consequence of sin consequence means the result or the outcome What is the outcome or result of sin-Death 2nd Man by His Actions brought Life 2nd Man what did He Do, He did what only He could do because He was the Only One Qualified, He Died as Payment for the sin of the 1st man and the sins of all the rest of his descendants, thereby restoring through His Work the Relationship between Creator and Creation. Who was the 1st man-Adam Who was the 2nd Man-Christ We because of the first man need the Second Man, all should agree either way we do need the Second Man right? Well let me ask a "duh" question, why would we need the Second Man except because by the first man sin came into the world. And if the point that some make is that result of Adam's actions/sin is that we all come to know death, then everybody is going to Heaven right, because don't we all die? And Paul clearly says the Second Man has fixed that problem right? Not all are going to Heaven because of the curse of sin. Dug
  18. Good post ruck1b I agree Thou shall not kill. Is pretty straight forward and kind of hard to disagree with. Dug
  19. No is is is are is it it, no wait what if is is it or it is it, it is very confusing:noidea: either way I think it isn't and He does!
  20. Hi to All, May I say that to a certain extent I hear and see what everyone is saying and do not disagree with what has been said, but please remember above all things a True Man/Woman of God that is not an hireling is Worthy of Double Honor (not worship, only God deserves that) that includes stuff like Respect and Consideration, Care and Obedience. Obedience is something we all like to receive but sometimes hate to give. They that do the work of a Minister that is that cares for our soul, a Watchman rightly dividing the Word of God are worthy to be prefered to be regarded in high esteem. A True Minister is due this and They will not desire it either. Let me say before I go on any further I am not implying anyone is doing this but so often you hear of it happening. We should not gossip nor backbite against them no matter how much we disagree with them. If we have problems and we all do at times, no Pastor is perfect save One, We should, we must lift them up, pray for them instead of putting them down and dragging them through the mud. If a Pastor is really doing the work, then they are praying and seeking God for you, for your family, your children that they would not be lost and that God moves on your behalf. Their members welfare and the Church are their concern! If they are Real and True Men and Women of God then any esteem any preference, outside of worship and exaltation and glorifying and Real True Pastor desires none of this is very appropiate. I don't have a problem with it, my Pastor deserves it and yes he wants nothing of it but for the respect of the Call that is placed on his life. Again I am not saying anyone is doing that who has replied, Please do not take this as I am do so! Dug
  21. apot, Yes I agree and I do think he is weighting a lot of options, My main advice to him is to pray and seek God's Will any Military option though has a inherent risk in this day and time. But I also have the utmost of respect for those who have chosen to serve our country in this manner> God Bless Those Who Have. Dug
  22. Hi to All, My Son is considering joining the Army Nat Guard. The recruiter's came to the house the other day, A Fine Young Man from our church and his Sargent. They both said if we the American people could only know the REAL TRUTH instead of the LIES we are blasted with everyday from bias news outlets. We would be encouraged about how well we are doing and all the good we are doing there. It is a very hard situation and our church is constantly prayed for those Heroic Men and Women Serving Our Great Country and the Families that have suffered such Terrible Losses. May God Be With All Of Them That Are In Harms Way And Bring Them All Safely Home. Dug

    SAVED????

Hi hrydavid, I like you and a few others who have replied have the same church backgrounds. I for the first 20 years of going to church went because that was where my mother went. Like EricH so wisely said: When talking to people about Jesus, I try not to make their particular church the issue. Because in the end it's not about denoms. and such it's about Jesus and what He did for All of mankind at Calvary! I like what you said about yourself and experience, this is very similiar to me. Might I suggest you share more of your personal testimony with this person. This can and possibly will have the most impact on this person. The one thing I tell people if asked about where I came from, I do not focus on church or doctrine but rather on my personal desire to learn more of God and of being unfulfilled where I was at, NOT THE CHURCH OR DOCTRINE. Personal differences with church or doctrine will do nothing but cause confusion and division as they have already expressed when they shared of her past experience. People feel attacked and become very defensive. Again you said: I
  24. Yep He sure does and it's confirmed to me everytime I take a good look in the mirror, especially when I catch myself dancing n*ked in front of the mirror lol dug
  25. uh not trying to be ugly but... Did that person who told you that, where they dressed in all red and carrying a pitchfork and smelled like smoke? Just kidding lol YES!!! A Christian must ask for forgiveness DAILY!!! And do other stuff like Praying for others and Reading the Word Dug
