  1. Can that live person be trusted to record the disapproval?
  2. Great mod if you want the S.W.A.T. team called on you, or worse... Link: http://dvice.com/archives/2008/07/bluetooth_gun_h.php
  3. By the way, he was paying $800 per month, not 0. The number got trimmed by the newsbot I would suppose.
  4. In some areas I would say handing out something like a hunting rifle in a contest would be fine, as long as the teen has parental permission. Something like this as a prize is a little extreme, and if it can be converted into a fully automatic weapon absolutely insane. I can even see shooting guns at non-live (that is, not live or representations of live) targets under supervision at camp, even a Christian one. It's just a modern version of archery then. But again- giving such a weapon away? Even if it had been donated and didn't cost the church $800 I'd have a problem with it. Aside from this, the conference so far looks fun. I still have to see the rest of the video.
  5. I've been watching some of last year's video (LINK) but have not yet gotten to the part of giving one away though I did see the shooting clips referenced to in the news site video. You will find it about 7-minutes into the video. There was also teaching, worship, a paintball game, golfing, some interviews with kids, skating and other things. However, I am only about 12-min. into the half-hour video and taking a lunch break now.
  6. This story may seem strange to me just because I live in a large suburban area in IL, but then again it begs the question of just how far should we go in our methods to reach people for Christ. Note when reading this that while this year the event was canceled, it was only due to someone being unable to attend and they will be giving it away next year instead. Also, this isn't the first time they have had this giveaway. Click the link for the story. Church Cancels Teen Gun Giveaway
  7. (from the article) There most certainly was a hate crime going on, only it wasn't against the Muslims in the area...
  8. Wasn't there something about accessible oil in Utah or thereabouts? If so, we should be drilling there too. And for the green people, yes we should keep working on more practical alternative energy. That is, lose the ethanol and focus on making solar, wind, and other such energies more affordable. Meanwhile, for the near future, more nuclear energy and more drilling.
  9. Call me cynical, but I kinda' stopped reading after "Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) plans to promise..." Save the promises please, your history is what counts and shows who you are. This goes for all politicians by the way, I'm not singling out McCain by any means.
  10. They shouldn't single out gays- instead, they should vote to ban anyone from clergy who willfully sins and is not willing to change. Of course, they would have to hold up the Bible as absolute authority on sin and it doesn't seem as if they are doing this.
  11. Of course even Little League has to pay royalties just to use the major league team names on their uniforms... Major League Baseball Tells Little Leaguers: We Own Uniform Rights
  12. Before I name one, I'd like to know if you are truly interested in finding a new news outlet, or just in attacking whatever source I list? I sense a hypocrite... Who was it that attacked one's source first now, then every source provided thereafter...? And I am having trouble taking seriously anyone who attacks another, implying she is a drunkard: You obviously missed the part where I wrote, "It is surely not infallible." Perhaps if you were able to read better you might not be so surprised. Do you ever even read the NYT? Do you follow current events at all? Oh, and you really shouldn't drink so early in the morning.
  13. After reading that link I have withdrawn my above post.
  14. You're probably right. Looks like we should be prepared to lose our country to the UN's (mis)guidance under Obama.
  15. Mythbusters disproved that saying. Looks like they should have let them go through a house instead...
  16. I think it's God's global warning. Good one, and I agree.
  17. And that will never happen. Precisely. May the will of the people triumph again in November.
  18. Lots of kids, but I see they are not trying to stick with a single first letter like another family that's been in the news.
  19. A little off topic, but an interesting thing I noticed. Mainstream media refers to the country by (the junta's?) name Myanmar, but Christian sources call it by the prior name, Burma. It's looooong since out of the news now of course, but did the same thing happen when Saigon was renamed Ho Chi Minh City? Hmm. From Wikipedia:
  20. Something fast I hope. Once they gorge themselves on all those fire ants first of course...
  21. Homosexuals may recognize gay marriages, states may recognize gay marriage, and even the federal government one day may recognize gay marriages. But until God recognizes such marriages I never will either.
  22. As for the OT, either the Vatican is allowing the evil one to deceive them, or maybe they are still walking on eggshells over what happened just a few centuries ago- in other words they don't want to appear anti-science, even though mainstream science is truly wrong this time.
  23. I wan't one of those things in my signature. I thought embedded objects were prohibited within posts.......have things changed? Butterfly has been a member since '02, before they got rid of all graphics. She probably never changed her signature since that time. As long as she never tries to change it again, she gets to keep the graphic. If she ever decides to change her signature the graphic will be gone forever.
