  1. What makes you think that I think success for America is bad? Sorry. I was replying to the article not you. You didn't give your opinion on the story did you?
  2. I did not say that you have made such a comparison, but the comparison has been made by many on here. Weren't you the first one to bring it up in this thread?
  3. I never made the comparison, nor would I. Disingenuous arguments don't further this debate.
  4. Wow, must be tough when success for America is bad news for you.
  5. Its no more of a squeaky wheel today than it has ever been in the history of civilization. Gays and lesbians have always made up about 4 or 5 percent of the population and always will. Its better described as the political whipping post of the day. The wedge issue used to get people to vote against their own interests. That is just completely false. There population numbers mean nothing in this context. They are trying to get their lifestyle accepted as completely normal and are trying to force it on the rest of us. It is hardly a wedge issue. Those of us that are likely to vote against gay marriage, are more likely to vote for your political nemeses than the Democrats.
  6. Yes, but the point is that if we want to bring people into the Church, then you got to clean up the pollution. If we compare gays to child rapists, then we deserve most of the blame for gays not coming to our churches. Welcome to the biggest problem in the church today. Let's water down the gospel so it doesn't hurt anyones feelings. Homosexuality is a sin. It is fornication. The Word condemns all of these sins equally. I think the gay issue gets the most noise because it is the squeaky wheel. They are trying to make society accept it as normal behaviour.
  7. Interesting concept as a way to explain the Trinity. You need to change Jesus though. He has always been, He was not created by God to be sent here. So in this paradigm you have come up with God sent Himself into the program. It is not a bad analogy. The programmer/creator role is actually very good. Look at the universe as his server though, and some of the weaknesses you spoke of go away.
  8. She has been involved in gay churches for some time. I believe she was at the one here in Fort Worth fairly recently.
  9. That is taken completely out of context. Look at the verse in context. Jesus was saying that we must be born twice to enter His Kingdom. Once from our mothers (water) and by Grace through Faith(Spirit). I know many people use this verse to indicate Baptism is a requirement for Salvation, but I don't think that is what Jesus was saying here. This passage makes no mention of baptism being required.
  10. It is not the only Biblical reason. Abandonment is also mentioned. I would argue that a husband abusing his wife is abandonment. She is not physically able to live with the husband because her safety is in danger. He has abandoned her. I think one must give the husband a chance to correct his behavior, and if he refuses to divorce would be the answer. This one is a bit fuzzier than the adultery question though in my opinion. In other words immediate separation would be warranted, but divorce would need to be carefully considered once it was obvious that the husband is not willing to change his ways.
  11. Boy that is a stretch. Ask her how she justifies that theory. Sounds like the husband needs help. Maybe she needs to be a little more proactive. Keep her meds on her at all times, or remove them from the house completely. If she genuinely needs these sleeping pills or whatever, maybe she could just bring home enough for her to take on a daily basis. This will solve the problem of his stealing her pills, but it may make the whole situation worse, if he starts buying them illegally. Rehab sounds totally warranted in this situation. Scripts are some of the hardest drugs to kick.
  12. Good point Leonard. They are also lawyers. The whole lot of them. They kind of remind me of the Pharisees.
  13. Phelps is a false teacher of the worst kind. His hateful antichrist gospel is not that of our Savior. His church is a joke. It is made up of his family pretty much. The evil these people do will not go overlooked. They are driving the unknowing away from God.
  14. The problem with both theaters IMO is this fascination with SF and doing more with less. That is why UBL escaped. We did not have enough people in the area to capture him. We similarly don't have enough people in Iraq to subdue the insurgence, and kill off AQ.
  15. Homosexuality is wrong. It is against God's wishes for us. It isn't natural, and I don't believe people are 'born that way'. There is no such thing as 'gay marriage'. Marriage is a bond between a man and a woman. God's Word is very clear on both issues. As to how gays should be treated, they should be treated like any other lost soul. They are human beings like everyone else with sin they need God's help to overcome.
  16. Oh really? Show us. How would staying out of Iraq made Waziristan accessible? Leaving Saddam in charge hardly would have made the world a safer place. Remember where Zarqawi went after being nearly killed in Afghanistan? And that proves what? Was Saddam funding Zarqawi? Did Zarqawi launch attacks against the United States or our allies from Iraq? Zarqawi travelled to just about every nation in the Muslim world, should we attack them all? Saddam was contained, was disarmed, gave 25k to the families of suicide bombers in palestine, but in terms of terrorist support, was near the bottom of the list in the Middle East. He was a secularist third rate dictator in a third rate country that posed no substantive threat to the United States or our allies. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...6092301130.html I always love third hand analysis from anomymous sources. So reliable. Saddam allowed Zarqawi to enter the country and gave him medical treatment. You ignored the real point of course. How did Iraq make Waziristan a problem?
  17. I wouldn't recommend you just quit paying them any time soon.
  18. The mainstream is mostly going to hell too.
  19. WHAT?!? The EPA gave them the interview? The Onion made the entire thing up. There was no EPA intereview.
  20. Oh really? Show us. How would staying out of Iraq made Waziristan accessible? Leaving Saddam in charge hardly would have made the world a safer place. Remember where Zarqawi went after being nearly killed in Afghanistan?
  21. It is a great place for debate, if you debate honestly. That is ridiculous really. This country was more united than it has ever been after 9/11. Do you remember the over 90% approval ratings? Their strength is nowhere near what it was when they were in control of the country. They are being fought every day. The real problem, which has nothing to do with Bush, is the safe haven they have in Pakistan. Waziristan is a problem, and will remain one until a solution is found for it. You could have 40,000,000 troops in Afghanistan and it would make no difference. Ah yes, the infamous Downing Street memo! You guys have not got over that one yet. Where is the evidence? Cheney's remaining Halliburton stock has already been put in a trust that he can't access. It is to be given away once the options on it mature. So no, he in fact, stands to gain nothing from Halliburton's stock increasing. http://www.factcheck.org/kerry_ad_falsely_...alliburton.html This was all sorted out years ago. I see no proof of Christian virtue in your dishonest postings.
  22. Wow. I was not going to get involved in this one, but I can not let this post go unanswered. Who are you to judge if he is a Christian? He claims Christ as his Saviour? This is simply false. He has tried to reach across the aisle many times. The opposition has bit his hand every chance they can. This is just simply false. There has been no evidence that the intelligence 'was fixed'. You are calling him a liar with no proof. The 'Taliban is in control in Afghanistan' canard is also false. Their supposed resurgence has been claimed every spring and has yet to come to pass. Yes, they are still being fought, but they have hardly regained their strength. They also are not in control of Pakistan. This statement just shows a complete ignorance of facts. Bush and Cheney are making no money on oil. Neither of them own any stock in oil companies. They were required to divest themselves before taking office. You judged his heart in the beginning of your post. It is fine to disagree with him, but if you are going to, at least get your facts straight. Bush has gotten many things wrong. The war has not gone as planned. That is for sure. I still think he was correct for ousting Saddam though.
  23. Sounds like the editorial isn't quite honest. You be the judge. http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/allah.asp
  24. What movies? I am on the fifth book in the series currently.
