  1. Oh, that's so sad. I really don't think Myspace is to blame at all for it; it's totally the fault of the people who were tricking her. They should have known better. It's terrible the girl killed herself over something so petty.
  2. Separation of church and state; the government can't be seen endorsing a particular religion, so I guess it makes sense to me. Actually, I don't see it as a problem at all. People can put what they want up on private property, but the government needs to represent all the people including religious minorities, so it really doesn't make sense for a particular faith to be endorsed or have its holidays celebrated. As for people saying "happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas", who cares? Say what you want. When I say happy holidays it's because I'm referring to several holidays -- Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chanukah because some of my friends celebrate it and New Year's. Being inclusive isn't a sin. I think it's a very silly and frivolous thing to get worked up over. Just say whatever makes you happy and let everyone else have the same privilege.
  3. Good! That so-called "church" doesn't offer Christianity, it just sends out satanic hate. Hopefully this will get them to stop.
  4. Well, China is a sovereign nation, so legally I think that's their decision to make. However, I think it's very sad. Being restrictive and intolerant like this is not going to keep people from the truth, it'll probably inspire more people to become curious about the forbidden objects and make even more of an attempt to learn about God. I wonder what they are so afraid of.
  5. I don't know anything about the Crystal Cathedral, but I do know it's becoming really complicated to know for sure what is Biblically sound and actually Christian, and what is based in New Age. There are so many books out there marketed to a Christian audience that are completely pro-New Age spirituality. My aunt bought one for me once that she found in the Christianity section of a secular bookstore -- and don't get me wrong you can buy great religious books at secular stores -- but she didn't read it and just assumed it was Biblically based because it was in that section. Anyway, it started out weird and just got worst. The first thing it said was that everybody had an angelic guardian to watch over them, and that you could tell what kind of protection your "angel" was trying to give you by determining the color of your aura. There was something about how the first color that popped into your head in the morning was that day's aura or something. It also said a great way to talk to your "angel" was to meditate and that you could pray to angels to help you with specific tasks. There was a section about everyday miracles too which said that people basically make their own miracles. It also said the crucifixion wasn't real because God didn't require payment for sin and that we are our own Christ because we can make the choice to save ourself and connect with God. It was completely non-Christian. I don't remember the title and obviously the book got returned to the store so I can't check it, but there are plenty of books out there like that. It's very confusing because some of them advice things like crystal healing and praying to spirit guides to get in touch with God, which isn't Biblical at all.
  6. That's wild! The weirdest thing that has ever fallen on my family's cars is a shoe somebody threw over the edge of an overpass when we drove under.
  7. Oh, weird! I guess it's a good thing for the earth if we can use things like that but it's creepy to use dead cats for anything.
  8. Wow, that sounds so cool! I want one of those! All the nifty Japanese stuff is really popular among me and my friends right now.
  9. Hi, I am a Christian and I believe in God. I think that the Bible tells us homosexuality is a sin and therefore not something we should be doing, supporting or encouraging others to do. As a Christian, I feel like it's only fair for me to be expected to follow God's rules for my life and not to start doing something the Bible plainly says not to do. Since I have free will and can make choices for myself, I choose to follow God on this issue. However, I don't think God appointed Christians as the moral guardians for the whole world and I don't think it is our place to judge others or force them to comply with what we believe is right. All people are given free will, and what they do with it is between them and God. Since we are all sinners and we all end up making mistakes and sinning, we aren't perfect and therefore I don't think we can seriously think we are in a position to tell others how to live their lives. What we can do for others is pray, but we can't control them. Therefore, I think that Christians should probably stop protesting secular, legal gay marriage. I don't think any church should be required to accomodate a gay wedding and no Christian or clergy should have to go to a gay marriage, but as long as it's purely legal and secular, I don't think we should stop it either. We cannot stop others from sinning. Preventing gay marriage won't make people stop being homosexual, only God can do that. So, I think we should permit gay marriage because at least hopefully that might slow down AIDs and STDs and stuff, if some of these people become monogamous. That's the way I see it anyway.
  10. I think online chats and forums are a really good thing as long as people use them carefully. Just common sense, like don't give people your home address, probably solves any problems.
