Hi, as christians we're not to tolerate anything less than our full inheritance in Christ. What does that mean?

There are many things in regards to the faith on which we need to be sure (The nature of God; the person and work of Christ; the nature of the scriptures; how people are saved). The exact timing and order of events that will mark the end is not one of those areas. There is room for disagreement among people of the faith regarding the way things will "play out". At our church we have stated what we believe in our doctrinal statement regarding eschatology, but have placed asterisks by these (meaning people do not have to agree with us on these statements regarding the end to be members). I agree with you that it is the sure hope of His return that we emphasize. Not the exact timing and order of the events. But, if someone wants to discuss these things over coffee, I will be glad to do that with them. Greetings, I am having to rewrite a reply to this post after haveing lost the last one I hope I remember what was said. I was considering that in the faith that came by hearing the Word of God, the faithfullness of God is what is communicated to us in a world where such is not known. End-times events however they unfold should be subject to these principles of this peculiar justice and faithfulness that impacted our lives upon hearing the gospel. Because of the abundance of scholarly writings and their differences with regard to the end times we would have to be wisely patient as we await revelation and clarity, though all in all it's the faithfulness of God and His Word which is to be proved in it all as a faithful referance for us in time and eternity. I think I recovered most of it lol.

New believers like to know that we're sure of the faith we are shareing with them so it is important that we resolve some of the escatological confusion. It maybe important that we emphasise the hope that maketh not ashamed and the Love of Christ that demands glory, so they will be ideally drawn to the genuine witness which promises that we will be gloryified with Him if we're crucified with Him. I was considering whether cross or tribulation, a goal is yet to be broken into agreement with the cross of Christ.

Greetings again. I don't wish to dwell on things excessively but there is an interesting article that addresses the fall of satan with a different angle to what I have heard preached. I understand that there is still debate and speculation on the subject, but the article was quite substantial in my opinion. It states that satan wasn't felled between Genisis 1 and 2 because he was in the garden probably still as the anointed cherub, and that he was possibly commissioned to minister to Adam and Eve until he maybe envied the attention they were getting and proceeded in tempting them. This was possibly the point where iniquity was found in Him and the judgement which followed could have been that fall with all that was related to it. The original article might be found here

Amen my brother I would just like to add one more thing. I have been accused on this board of attacking others that do not hold my views. But brothers and sisters, please understand, I'm being misunderstood. For what seems to be an attack, is actually my passion for the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In my heart I truely grieve because of some of the RIDICULOUS, and outrageous doctrine I have heard on here in the last couple of days. And then when I out of love and concern try to teach my brother the truth, get ganged up on, and shunned while my brother who is in error gets a pat on the back. Paul talks plainly in the book of 2nd timothy on the matter of false doctrine: 2 Tim 2:15-26 (NASB) 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.16 But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness, 17 and their talk will spread like gangrene . Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 18 men who have gone astray from the truth saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset the faith of some.19 Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness." 20 Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. 21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. 22 Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. 23 But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels . 24 The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, 25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. My concerns are highlighted in red: Paul calls those in false doctrine snared by the devil, and for everyone to avoid Speculations. Not to mention, that the false doctrine will spread like gangrene. I have also heard the comment, that oh (my brother said this); This doctrine we are discussing is so trival that it will not affect our salvation. However we see in verse 18 above, that trival doctrine of some believing that the resurrection had already happend, paul was concerned that those with less knowlege will suffer a ship wreck of their faith. And so was my concern, that those watching this discussion, might get an inaccurate conclusion. I love my brother; (I promised him I would no longer use his name); And truely was reaching out to him. not out of pride or arrogance, but love, to bring him to the truth. If some of you want to think that showing who's the smartest on these scriptures is top priority than that's between you and God. But I will be watching out for my brothers and sisters, not my reptuation. I don't hold any grudges against anyone here for things done in the past or ever. If any here have any I suggest we dump them in the sea as far as the east is from the west. In His Love always Spiritman Gbu Spiritman. I am most pleased that you were blessed by the above information as I myself was to happen upon those revelations. I agree with you that such information is important with regards to the strength of our faith and I agree that you were right to be concerned. I understand your wanting to edify our bretheren with the vital truth so that they may strong in the truth that sets free. May you also be blessed and comforted as you have sought to minister comfort to others.

Hi again, Another thing that might help is to ask the question why after the genealogy back to Adam is so well documented, that is being the sixth day would we want to suddenly require for one day to be as a thousand years etc? What then would we do with the seventh? I believe that by faith we must receive it as such. We understand witches and such are able to effect lying wonders with varying degrees of magnitude, and that's darkness, why can't we accept that the God, who is light, be able to create as stated, and with eternal faithfulness?
-
I think that is the question being discussed. Does the text demand a 6000 year old earth? Yes.
-
God upholds all things by the Word of His power. Genesis is correct. The 6000 years is correct. The Word is what's faithful. The Lamb slain from the before the foundation of the earth is what's faithful and whole the universe was orchestrated to honour His Love. Science ideally compliment the Lord and serve the earth as they ought. Others are yet to acknowledge the source of their achievement. It is important to remember that only what is of faith that is substantial, that means the Bible is right and we mustn't be intimidated by scientific speculation, they need to do that until they believe.
-
I believe the Genesis account because after all it what is of faith that is substantial Hebrews chapter 11. Others speak of pre-creation stuff but that's is not important and we can safely discard these because it is faith that we have to do with and this is what is upheld of the Word of Life. I sometimes wonder of the mechanics of it maybe matter was speeding from eternity-past to honour the Words that that were spoken of God. It is the Word though that we must emphasise of the Lamb slain from before the foundation of the world. I believe creation was orchestrated to honour the Lord and the ripples of His Love demonstrated at Calvary with past, present and future involvement (for want of better words). I hope this helps.

I think the tension the brother was referring to is maybe the difference in the style of Paul's epistles compared with the Gospels. Some would say that until the death of the testator (Jesus) it's technically still Old Testament. Paul's writings were in a different season again, post-pentecost, which meant that his writings were quickened with the spirit and zeal of the peculiar revolution that was unfolding. When I was turned on to faith, it was this unusual Spirit in which Paul wrote that caught my attention most, after which I was led into other truth.

Hello, Rock and Metal wasn't my prefered stlyles before but I have been wanting to express appreciation for the Christian Rock/Metal bands for some time though I didn't know who else would appreciate it, especially some of the bands mentioned. I like where they go with it its sounds like some serious warefare could effect with these especially with the Word involved as well. I think what some people seem to be wanting is fellowship that can help encourage and uphold what God inspires the musicians to create in their contemporary styles, after all the Word says where two or three gather togher unto the Lord there He will be in the midst, so there is benefit in mutual appreciation of breakthrough creativity, the two or three thing somehow being more fulfilling in a world that doesn't even know what to honour. It goes without saying to put the Lord first and I think that the recent Christian Music is of a very good quality and I am very pleased about that.

well explained.

Is the catholic church the true church authority? And just so we don't sidetracked, you can PM me with the answer. the last time there was unity among all the believers was in Israel. This is the one thing we all have in common and this is the only place where true unity (in the Spirit) will be accomplished. Unfortunately, it was the church at Rome where the division and acrimony between gentiles and jews began to become ugly (Romans 11:20) and from there it went into 30,000 different christian denominations based on error of the ECF (early church fathers) and the RCC. And even within Israel, sects arose pretty quickly. Sectarianism and division began long before the church fathers. Even as early as Moses people were breaking off wanting to go back to Egypt. In Jesus' time there were sects and divisions. good point there. 2 jews, 3 opinions. The first disagreement I find in the Body was between hellenistic jews and hebraic jews in Acts (6 I think?). The greek influence on Israel after Alexander the Great was the reason that Pharisees came about. The problem of division within the early community was probably more a result of this "greek spirit" than anything else. I think this same greek spirit is still the problem of division today. Israel may be the unifying factor for the church denominations as the spirit we are of is to do with is that of the glory of Israel. Israel's fulfillment would be to our benefit possibly justifying all that is sound in the different denominations.

Hi It is because Israel is born of faith and therefore is of peculiar origin. It's existence is perplexing to man because revelation authorizes it compared with the selfish ambition which may have been the motivation of other nations and their warrings. Israel's health and peace is important for the consistency of the faithfullness and justice that we all hope may be extended to us as people of faith. How the world treats Israel shows us how they treat the anointed and the politics involved can be comparative with the Christian's issues with darkness, eg. Authority in Jesus name, rights of existence, privacy, fair treatment, godly tradional rights, holiness, honor, justice, liberty etc. God's Faithfulness to Israel has been and will be a substantiating witness of that Spirit we're to drink into, so the faithfullness continues.

I used to think this referred to a measure of faith at salvation, but as I observe it mentions 'everyman', I believe it might indeed refer to that from birth. Another verse which contributes to this is from John ch1., that this Life (Jesus) is the Light of all men', and so I believe it refers to this. Between birth and the here-after the individual would need that measure of faith assured through knowledge of the Word and then commitment to God where one finds their fulfillment and context.

The Holy Spirit descended in the form of a dove at Jesus' baptism and the Father was the voice that spoke, so we have the three there present.

Hello The pastor's words may not have been intentional even though He knows you are childless. Because you are sensitive on the issue it seem to have soured your thought processes during the flow of the sermon. This has been my experience in the past and it turned out that I was the one in need of prayer lol.. Bear in mind He has a great responsibility in shepherding the church and may not always be able to cater for the sensitivities of every individual. May you be comforted and reassured of these disturbances. God Bless.

Firstly , it was Moses who was more to do with the circuncision. Abraham's part was significantly the ram who replaced Issac to maintain accuracy. Yes, the blood covenant will be referred to for Justice and Godly instruction as heaven and earth remain, and were it to pass away. Praise God we are very secure through the finished work of Calvary.

Confused, Frustrated and all that entails...
psalmone replied to annabelfwlr's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
Hi there, Our Christian walk will bring us through some disorientating seasons and may also challenge our whole existence having us feeling undone without natural explanation. It's good to get-our-house-in-order around these times, that means prioritize and organize, it'll help us feel better as we prayerfully improve there-from. Maybe to try and get our spirit, soul and body healthy, and we'll at least be about something constructive. 1. Spirit- that Church life is healthy and maybe even serving in some capacity if even prayer or towards that. 2. Soul -to maybe read interesting things to be able to share wholesome issues with friends, to contribute in good conversation and such or towards that. 3. Body-to exercise or body to be strong to serve in some capacity or towards that. Do you have a timetable that you can fill with a complete wholesome weekly routine? Then you can always have something to return to (like repentance lol), this help us feel secure, and we can always include spontaneous appointments like professional people do.lol. Some Suggestions: Pray without ceasing - remembering brokeness unto solutions Get our room or home tidy lol (thats for me too) Your paperwork together Exercise A readiness to serve Do you have a godly vision? Or at least a temporary one? Let the Living Word be a warrior for your restoration. Wishing you Peace everyday. God Bless. -
Blessed but hurting
psalmone replied to Gift of Grace's topic in Have a problem? Looking for advice?
I know I hate it too. We are told that the Lord despised the shame in the bearing of the cross, thats why I mentioned as honorably as poss how embarrassing the cross could have been for the Lord and the whole process. Though He bore it to conquer it and He now has a name above all names. That means theres a work to be done in that area of advocating for the harassed and aggravated and persecuted. It is hard to remain faithful when they try to make us look like fools, this is territory that needs alot of wisdom and ministry. It's not cowardly to refuse overreaction, it's wisdom. Let's just let the Lord strengthen us daily in Him and delight in that. We then have to love our enemies.lol. So it's just to see how love might consume the whole thing. May the Lord give us a vision for these types of experiences and give us ready wisdom to respond with. God Bless Thanks for your post.. -

Hello I liked hearing about your card ministry and I hope it fulfills. As for the other things, the thing that came to mind is that the work of the cross may be also going on in ones life and that is rarely comfortable. It can feel very unpleasant and for indefinite periods though through it all see the emerging beauty, and concentrate more on that. At the right time you'll know if to make a stand because you'll have a gift of faith for it, otherwise focus on the resurrection life that may be unacknowledged, counting those blessings. I once heard a minister say that God gives us submission challenges until it doesn't hurt to submit, givng challenges until it doesn't hurt to give and I'd imagine other types of challenges until we are developed in grace. God Bless. -
LOL Here I am guilty of replying before finishng reading the third page, though like the above poster it's because I didn't want to forget thoughts that came to mind as I read. I just was at a bible class earlier where I was very quiet, in a church I am relatively new at. I was considering these points also and acknowledge that conversation is to be encouraged, because a timely word can be very healing. It also came to my attention that alot of people may be quite frustrated with unanswered questions, the resolveing of which might be very productive, as they might newly contextualise their lives accordingly and be a greater blessing as their gratitude for the godly knowledge manifests in their lives. I hope this has been some of my fruit, because I was taught that the word is able to work the transforming we need in us causeing us to change without straining. There are times also when others need things confirmed and just our agreement helps alot, in a world where radical christianity is seen as peculiar (and they're not wrong), though their wrestleing might be credible. I wanted to say other things but I trust they might be expressed at the right opportunity lol.
