  1. Since you posted this in the Prophesy forum I will adress the prophesy issue. First off when we believe that we have recieved a word from the Lord it needs to be confirmed by two or more witnesses, this is scriptual. Sometimes we have a hard time discerning between our own wants and desires and what the Holy Spirit is telling us. Believe me it can become very confusing. When we do truly recieve things from the Holy Spirit we can truly mess up the blessing by then taking over the situation in the flesh. Believe me I know this from personal expierience! So my advise to you is to begin to seek the Lord about this situation, and if you begin to feel uncertain or confused stop and regruop, God is not the author of confusion. If you had true peace in your spirit that this was a true word you would not feel threatened by your friend. No offence my friend, I truly believe in prophesy and that God still directs our lives in this way, but just by reading your post I would rethink and pray that it wasn't my desires I was listening too. I pray you find your answers you seek God bless you Stacey c
  2. Such as.....? How about homosexuality? Abortion? Sin? Need I go on? Theres a difference between hating sin and hating the sinner, "but for the grace of God goes I". As a christian we are to love and show love to all people, regaurdless of their sin or shortcomings.
  3. I wrote this at the time before I was saved and knew nothing of the demonic world but now, being much wiser, its so clear to me. This is a working of the Devil and his fingerprints are all over it: Terror, Horror, Panic.. The Lord creates everything perfect. I don't believe this is one thing where some weird hormones paralyzes a Human. It's a deception of the Devil.. and because He operates in a pattern, he tries to wedge an excuse in there with science convincing us that the problem is with us and God has stricken us with some kind of illness or imperfection... B.S., its of the Devil. What? Whoa. No. I mean, it's scary, because REM's a bodily process you're not supposed to be awake for....so when you DO wake up your mind might create a context for it that involves a nightmare...but it's just your motor neurons inhibited. I mean think about what would happen if you WEREN'T paralyzed while you dreamed....given that I've jumped off buildings and things in dreams, I'm more than willing to trade a few instances of half-awake paranoia for not going off the roof! I know it can be terrifying, but it's just a hiccup that leaves you conscious for a part of your body's functioning you're not supposed to wake up for. There's no need to call it demonic. I don't know if the underlying cause is demonic, but satan can definately use it to get to a person. The first example I gave of being suffocated with a pillow was no "hiccup" it was very real and I was not asleep, so it wasn't a half-awake dream either.

  5. A little off topic Blien..... But I love the book Shogun and it's seguel Taipan. I think I read them both 5 times before I was 17 Alright!! Wasn't it awesome? I used to get so lost in that book while reading on the bus, at home or anywhere.. one time I was going to school and totally lost in it. Suddenly I realised everyone getting off the bus and when I looked up, I remembered "oh.. this isn't the 1600's anymore".. I breifly disappointed at that time. LoL... That never happened to me with any other book. Is the Captain Blackthorne still in Taipan? Was it better than Shogun in character & plot development?? I really hated the ending to Shogun, I always thought Toragana would be the good guy. My favorite character was Toragana's best friend, what was his name? Iron fist? I did like Shogun better but Taipan was awsome too. Captain Blackthorne is in Taipan also. It's been many years since I read them so I don't remember all the characters (having lots of kids affects your memory ya know ) But I would definately read them again if I came across them.
  6. I have had this since I was a child, and it is a very frightening situation. I have never heard of anyone I know having the same thing. I didn't even know the name of it until a couple of days when I stumbled across a news article from a doctor, so I did some research today on the net. ISP is where when one is either first falling asleep or coming from deep sleep (rem) to waking up, that they are concous mentaly but their body is paralized and they cannot move. The articles stated that it can last from several seconds to several minutes long and be painful. My episodes always happen when I am waking up. I can hear everyting around me, know whats going on, who's in the room, ect...... the problem is I cannot move or make any noise at all. I never even concidered it being demonic, or the chance for the enemy to hurt me in any way, until I read some of the reports from people who suffer from the same thing. Once when I was about 12 I had this happen and I felt myself being suffocated with a pillow, and I couldn't move to throw it off. Finally when I was able to move there was a pillow being pressed over my face with alot of force. I remember screaming mentally "Devil I rebuke you" and the pressure stopped and I was able to get up. I didn't sleep with a pillow for along time afterwards. Then the other morning I had another episode after about 8 months of peaceful sleep. I had gotten up early in the morning to get the baby from his bed, and brought him back to bed with me. I remember waking up but not being able to move. What was so horrifying was that the upper part of my shoulder and chest was across the baby's face and I knew it but couldn't move! What finally caused me to be able to move was the baby beginning to squirm and fuss and I was able to move. Needless to say, that time it scared me senseless! I could of hurt my baby! So has anyone ever heard of this? And what do you think this is?

  8. I gotta say, that I believe in the rapture. I was always taught Pre-trib rapture, but after reading so many debates on the subject I'm leaning more towards Post-trib rapture. My point is that no matter the timing me must be ready for the return of our Lord!!!!
  9. I've heard it was a false religion also. Although I don't necessasarily believe it's the religious system that I heard it reffered to.
  10. This is sssoooo disgusting.... It's a sad day when we hold more reguard for abused animals than for the lives of our unborn.
  11. I don't understand how someone can see majesty like this and not believe in the Great Creator! Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for the link neb.
  12. Thats the truth... But it's amazing the garbage he comes up with. Look at all the lies on the "History" channel about the so-called truths of the Bible.
  13. I think theres some really good posts on both sides of the OSAS issue. I would put myself someplace in the middle, if there really is a middle. I believe we can walk away from God and our salvation from the choices of how we live, but on the other hand, I also don't think I need to watch over my back for every little infraction that I might knowingly or unknowingly commit. Those who believe that Gods keeping a tally on all our sins, and sitting there with an eraser scratching out our name everytime we fall short, don't understand the FULL scope of our God's GRACE and MERCY. That being said I want to give a little something of where I'm coming from on the issue of sin and death. My first husband had been alcohol free for many years, and was a totally sold out man of God when he was killed in a ATV accident 10 years ago. On that night he had drunk a couple of beers, but tox screens should he was not legally drunk. BUT christian friends who had come to my home within the next couple of nights began to run their mouths with things they had no clue what they were saying!!!!! "Oh God killed him before he would become a full blown sinner again." "He's in hell now because he drank a couple of beers." "He musn't have been a true christian to begin with." When someone is greving that IS NOT the garbage they need to hear!!!!!! We are not judge only God knows that persons state of heart at that moment of death. We may have to take a reality check and realize we don't know it all, only God does. Just be there for someone who is grieving. All I wanted at that time was to be NOT ALONE. I didn't need talking and half baked ideas of where my husbands soul was, I just needed to know I wasn't alone. Hope this helped and blessed someone.
  14. Yea, but I'm not talking about "things." I'm talking about hating people. We can say we love someone, but then treat them as if we hate them. Oh, how fickled our flesh is. Amen riel!!!!!! It makes me sad, (and I see this with people in my own life) who preach love everyone, through love we'll reach the lost, blah, blah, blah, but hate the people in their own family. If we can't love those closest to us how are we ever going to really love the "undesireables" This is getting confusing. I was in the midst of modifying my post when stacey did hers. Since it blest her, I should have left it alone. I don't know what happened riel.. But your post was really to the point. I've been struggling with this issue in my own life. I posted this same topic a few days ago in the thread "Boundaries"

  16. It's amazing to me how some christiians cannot debate a topic without resulting to insults and attacking one's intelligence. Theres much to learn from one such as Onelight, who can debate a topic with love and intelligence without attacking a person. Thank you Onelight for letting the fruits of the Spirit shine within you for all to see and feel. God bless you stacey c
  17. You should not add to God's word. NO WHERE does God tell us it was a 24 hour day. This is a man made assumption, nothing else. It funny that you call it an assumption to believe that a day is 24 hrs long. And Zeke you assume that anyone who doesn't agree with everything you state doesn't believe in the Word of God. Just because I or anyone else have a hard time thinking of dinos and man living at the same time doesn't mean we put science over the Bible. I see no clear cut scripture where "T-Rex" and humans co-inhabited in time.
  18. I heard about this on the news the other night, it's horrible! I would think it would be illegal to turn off one's power in this type of circumstance. IMO these power companies have TOO much authority. They have a monopoly in their states. If you don't like your phone or cable service there are alternative sources for service. But with the power companies you are at the mercy of their exhorbit fees and demands.
  19. No I never even thought about it Jade.... Maybe if I did my Pats would be in it this year!
  20. I have no arguement with what Zeke said. Right now I'm just trying to wrap my brain around humans and dinosaurs on earth at the same time. The images in my brain are very Hollywoodish right now!!!!
  21. Dinosaurs did exist but the gap theory that Shiloh is referring to is false. Dinosaurs were created in the 6th day just like the rest of the beast of the field. Blessings ezekiel, I'm not too familiar with the gap theory, but how can dinosaurs been created on the 6th day? Did they exist at the time of Adam and Eve? If so, how can their time line be so much older than 6000 to 7000 some odd years? And what about the Ice Age that supposedly destroyed them all.
  22. I think we all met christians like that. My pastor in Fl. never even put religious bumper stickers on his car. He always stated that atrue christian doesn't have to prmote themselves, the love of Christ in them should speak for itself.
  23. There are alot of people who don't believe dinosaurs actually exsited. They think the evidence is all trickery and deciet. There are others who believe they did at one time. They think the evidence is too great to ignore. I believe they did, but at what time in history I'm not sure. I don't think it will totally be clear in this life time. JMO
  24. Thanks wanda.... And it's true. Alot of times I don't respond right away because I want to think it over and make sure my attention is not diverted i.e. children, so I can answer as best as I can, as the Holy Spirit would have me. If I tried to answer off the cuff, I sure do end up sounding like a fool Luv your sister in Christ stacey c
