1. I used to believed God love was unconditional. Now I'm not so sure who He loves and to what extent.
2. I have not been to church in in eight years. It seems to me that there are two types of churches and two types of Christians these days. Type-A is the casual, progessives,...the post modern, post evangelicals who see Christ and his life as an archetype of social justice and equality and thus avoid or even deny his attoning work on the cross. Type-B is the scripture based fundamentalists who see Christ as the son of God who died for mens sins. But they seem more distracted with trying to make political converts instead of making disciples. For the first time in years(two weeks ago) I attended a Bible Study with some friends. The study was fine, but immediately after, an impassioned discussion broke out about Obama and democrates and all the evil that is going to follow in the next four years. It seems like just yesterday when Bill Clinton was the anti-Christ. I think that if I were going to stop a group of people from spreading a message (ie..., the Gospel) I would take a passive aggresive approach where as, I would get them distracted with something else. Get them worried and riled about this other stuff so that their passion, wisdom and voices are poured into these things. Keep them talking about their world views or politics or anything as long as they are NOT spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. What would happen if Christians actually got passionate over the gospel? Things might actually change. A lamp might actually be placed on a stand and light would actually pierce the darkness. Sounds good,...but who wants that? So,...Cry Havoc! And let slip,..the dogs of politics....
3. The answer is always C
4. I havn't figured my agenda yet.
5. Below is the opening paragraph of an article from Christianity Today. One can go to their website to read the rest. It's pretty fascinatting. I've heard the quote once too often. It's time to set the record straight
6. Dan Brown himself has made the claim in more then one interview that his books are based on fact. He said he would not have wasted time writing them if they were just fiction. Further more the "DaVinci Code" is outright blashphemy. It's hard to see how anyone who believes in Jesus Christ and loves God, could enjoy any form of entertainment that denies and blasphemes who he his.
7. Two months ago was the 25th anniversary of when I put my faith in Christ. This weekend, while driving home from a friend's house I discovered something. As I traveled along the dark country roads near his house and my thoughts perused the last two and a half decades in the Faith, I came to a sudden realization. God does not love me. He has never loved me. and.... there is nothing I or anyone can do about that. I once was found but now I'm lost. Bummer If you want to know why I feel this way. Well...., two and half decades of cold silence from above in response to many prayers. Twenty five years of no replies to painful cries. I can't stand the silence anymore.
8. A church here in the Chicago area has already done this. The coffee house is named after one of the original elders. This was part of an expansion that ran over a hundred million. New state of the art auditorium(with HD multi media), cascading two story water fall, and many other extravagant features along with the afore mentioned coffee shop. The truth is that the church I'm talking about (like many churches) is run by pie charts, demigraphics, focus groups and the almight SURVEY. The word of God does not have any say in the church direction. Welcome to the age of the "Mega Church". These churches are asking fallen sinners what they would like in a church and behold....we have churches that have become indistinct from the world around them. "What good is salt when is loses it's saltiness?" I guess God had it wrong when HE gave the Israelites the commandments. He should have asked them what kind of God they would like to follow and then El Shaddai could have made adjustments to accomadate their desires. I suppose Jesus jump the gun when HE delivered the sermon on the mount. He should have had his disciples hand out questioneers first. Or maybe instead of Martha being angry over Mary not helping in the kitchen, she should have complained that Mary wasn't doing enough market research. GOD's way's are not man's ways. Man's ways are not GOD's.
