  1. Just to add my 2 cents, read Phillipians 4:8. I am praying for your complete freedom in this matter. Shalom
  2. Are there any women out there that wear them? I do not, but I met a lady that does. She said the command was for the "children" of Israel to wear them and not just the men. What say you guys about it? Shalom
  3. My husband wears them. They are white with the blue thread running thru them representing Yeshua.
  4. A wake up call to us all! May God bless this dear lady.
  5. Interesting point Dave, I never thought about couvetness being the churchs problem today. I think you and Shiloh are right on.
  6. 1 John:5 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and Keep His Commandments. For this is the love of God, that we KEEP His commandments. AND HIS COMMANDMENTS ARE NOT BURDENSOME. Faith, love, and obedience are related to each other. The practical benefits of obedience to all Gods laws are entirely contributive to human good and fulfilling to those who learn their application to life.
  7. Exactly visionary and good post whysoblind. I agree!
  8. Ekklessia in the greek means "the called out ones". When the Hebrew children left Egypt, they also left with a "mixed multitude". Stephen speaks of this first "ekklessia" in the desert. Yod is correct in that it is the Israel of God which includes the ekklessia but is not exclusive to them.
  9. This reminds me of a song I heard taken from a sermon called Sinners in the hands of an angry God. Here is just a few verses: In the beginning when our hearts were free We heard the Voice inside us And followed where It lead Years go by and all the Doctrines we've invented Have now lead us to Nullify the cause for which He bleed For on the one hand we are told we must obey Yet on the other His laws have passed away The double standard we are serving Like two-masters has bound us Now the Lukewarm Church is bound to pay Grace was never meant to be a "license to sin". And what is sin? Scriptures say sin is trangression of the law or better said breaking the laws of God. Jesus says in Luke: 13 22-27 for us to strive to enter through the narrow gate for many will seek to enter and will not be able. and says in verse 27 Depart from me all you workers of Iniquity(lawlessness). Jesus said it was easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for on tittle of the law to fail. This saying affirms the enduring quality of the law as expressive of the will of God. The gospel did not set aside the law, but rather fulfilled it at a higher level. For example, the law say thou shalt not commit adultry, but Jesus said if you even look at someone with lust in your heart you have committed adultry already. The phrase fulfill does not mean to do away with. Jesus is our Bridegroom and as such will be coming for a "spotless" bride. Not a bride who committs adultry, not a bride who lies, steals, dishonors parents, loves not her neighbore, ect.. If we are His, it will be in our hearts to want to obey His commands. I am a married woman and I want intimacy with my husband. I want to know what pleases him and what doesn't. Its the same with Messiah Jesus. Scriptures say without holiness it is imposible to see God/kingdom. What does it mean to be holy? It means to be set-apart unto Him. Jesus bought us with a great price. Why would I say His laws are done away with? I do not obey His laws for savation, I obey His laws because He said if you love me keep my commandments. Its that simple. He reached out His hand to me and by faith i accepted it. He saved me from the curse of sin and death. And he leads me by His word and yes the 10 commands are a part of His word forever. It really is that simple.
  10. When the children of Israel were saved from Egypt, they First put the BLOOD over the Doorpost so the death angel would pass over them. They did this by faith that God said if you do this you will LIVE. THEN, they went out of Egypt, to the MT. and recived the 10 commands. Notice they did NOT receive the 10 Commands First and then told to OBEY and then Taken (saved) from Egypt and bondage. God was merciful and Gracious and saved His people FIRST and then said, If you love me, keep my Commands. Its no different now. We accept Yesha/Jesus as our Savior FIRST. We put His blood over the doorposts of our hearts. Then He says, if you love me Keep my commandments. God did NOT take the Children out of BONDAGE (Egypt) to place them under more BONDAGE(the LAWS, Commands) as some would teach. No one was ever justified by the law. If they broke one of the commands, they were either stoned or they offered up animals for the shedding of blood for atonement. The CURSE of the Law is SIN( breaking the law) and DEATH (punishment for breaking the Law) But praise be to Yeshua, He is that SIN offering. He has broke the CURSE, took it away, you will no longer be stoned to death if you sin(break the commands), and He also shed His Blood (to atone for our sin) But, the Law Stands FOREVER. God does not change. The Priesthood changed, but the Law is forever or at least until Heaven and Earth pass away and that has not happened yet.
  11. There was one man who came to Yeshua and said he had kept all the law since his birth without breaking them and he asked Yeshua what else must he do to be saved? The law as God gave it was never meant for salvation of the world in the first place. It was and still is His holy standards to live by. If anyone is a believer in Yeshua and loves Him, why would they not want to keep His 10 commandments?
  12. 1 Corinthians 11:18 For first of all, when you come togethere as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. 19: For there MUST BE also factions among you, so that those who are approved may be RECOGNIZED among you. Paul finds it hard to believe that such divisions exist in the body, but he does see a divine purpose in them, revealing who is schismatic and who is true in spirit.
  13. I guess once a Jewish person becomes a believer in Yeshua as Savior/Messiah, that does not make them any less a Jewish person. To me, they are Messianic Jews. For a gentile to become a believer in Yeshua as Savior/Messiah, same goes for them. A gentile adopted into the covenant. One new man YES! One new man in the Spirit. Its my experience with some gentile believers that once a Jewish person becomes a believer they must leave behind all their Jewishness so to speak. But this should not be. Maybe what we are seeing are gentiles moving closer to their brothers the Messianic Jews through learning their Hebrew roots whith tradtional Hebrew worship, learning about the Feasts, the shofar, the Old Testament, And maybe the Jewish people are learning about their gentile brothers/sisters in the same way by learning the New Testament. I kinda see it as each one of us moving towards one another in love, with Yeshua being that middle ground, instead of moving away from each other. Yeshua has brought down the wall/partition that sperates us as Jews and Gentiles and bringing us togethere as One New Man in Himself. Anyway, thats how I see whats happening now. Shalom
  14. Shalom Ahavah, Im curious, what do you mean by Gentiles" acting "Jewish and Jews acting Gentile? Thanks
  15. Paul kept the feasts way after yeshuas ascension. God said they were a holy convocation and would be practiced forever. Each feast point to who Yeshua was and Is and forever will be. Christmas and easter are also celebrations, but if you look at it as the feasts have been done away with because of fulfillment in Christ, couldn't you make the same argument for the celebrations of Christmas and Easter.?These are practiced or celebrated every year and yet they too have been fulfilled in Christ. Gods Feasts were created by Him. Christmas and Easter were creations of man. The part that confuses me is if God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and He says His feasts are forever, and they are reminders of His love and of His Son, whats the difference in celebrating them as celebrating Christmas and Easter? Could it be the paganism that was mixed in with Christianity with all the pagan symbols that go with Christmas and Easter? Just curious.
  16. If God has given man free will to choose to follow Jesus as savior, could the same person also exercise that free will not to follow Jesus as savior? Accept Him and then deny Him? Peter did deny Him, but later after the sealing of the Holy Spirit preached boldly proclaiming Jesus as Lord even unto his death. So, based on free will or free choice, can one choose to deny Jesus after being enlightened and proclaiming salvation thru Him? I think so. Salvation to me is be ye being saved or sanctification. Its not just a one time sinners prayer and thats it. Thats faith, then we act on that faith until our death.Confessing, repenting, and proclaiming He is Lord until we meet Him face to face.
  17. Interesting Thread. It reminds me of what i have been taught in my hebrew roots class. Greek/Hellenistic mindset is one of what we believe about God and about doctrine. Hebrew mindset is what one does (faith in action) with what they believe. Maybe James summed it up. "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, decieving yourselfs". James 1:22 "What does it profit, my brethern, if someone says he has faith but not have works? Can Faith save him? " James 2:14 "Thus also Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead". James 2:17 "You see then that a man IS justified by works, and Not by Faith only". James 2:24 "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also". James 2:26 I was taught all my life that all I had to do was Believe and that was enough. but even the demons believe, and tremble James 2:19 verses 15 and 16 of chapter 2 in James says "If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,", but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? I thought about that verse for a long time and tried to apply it to the way I was living. I gave my tithes to my local assembly and mostly all it was used for was to pay the pastors and buy new sound systems and lights for the buildings and so on. We had people in much need of basic things such as food and clothing, we had poor and elderly, even a few widows. but if any of them spoke of a need it was always "lets have a car wash, a garage sale, ect.. to meet those needs. There was nothing really wrong with that, but my assembly took in a lot of tithe money and only 40 dollars went to missions in 2 years time and I know of people who asked the pastor for financial help and he refused to help them. I believe the body in that assembly was being robbed of the word, always told all you need is faith and thats it. I could never be a chearful giver after i realized how the tithe was being used. God spoke to me and simply said give your money to those in need and thats what I do now. I just slip it in an envelope, write their name on it, put it in the plate and go on. The "What if" we were wrong is no excuse. We have the word, it tells us what to do, we have the Holy Spirit, He guides us in how to do it. i did not mean to turn this into a tithing thread, just used it for an example. I believe salvation is more than a "sinners prayer" and hanging out till Yeshua returns. We must put what we believe into action. Shalom
  18. I believe the RCC is the "Mother" of the " Harlots" (denominations that sprang from her). They will all (denominations) be united again under One Church, the Church of Rome.

Yes, I guess it would take a while to organize that round-up. Makes sense. But i still want to know from the breakdown they gave on the news, what did the other 9000 get aressted for? Just curious.
  23. Jack Van Impe says animals go to heaven! I think he even wrote a book about it. If Yahweh gives us the desires of our heart and we want our pet there in heaven then maybe so.
