  1. A person doesn’t need to be smart to have the heart of God – even though it is wise to attain the heart of God. Nowhere in God’s Word does it indicate that the sons or children of God are the ones that are smart or have a great knowledge, but His children are the ones that have the same Spirit and nature of God, which is pure love. Knowledge, wisdom, or prophecy can be a gift of God to some of His children for the work of His kingdom, but any godly gifts without the heart of God are worthless and powerless for His kingdom. We are called to know God, but this doesn’t mean for us to have knowledge about God, but to be One in Spirit with Him. To know God or to be One in Spirit with Him is to have the same heart and Spirit as God, which is pure love, which is God’s Truth in action. 1 Cor 8:1-3 - Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. But the man who loves God is known by God. NIV Watch out for the ones that have not the love of God, but claim they have the knowledge of God. 1 Tim 1:5-7 - The goal of this command is love , which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Some have wandered away from these and turned to meaningless talk. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm. NIV God says we will know whose child a person is by their love. To love others like God has loved us is right, but the ones that loves themselves and not others are not right and still of the devil. 1 John 3:10 - This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother. NIV 1 John 4:7-9 - Dear friends, let us love one another, for LOVE COMES FROM GOD. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love DOES NOT KNOW God, because God is love. NIV When a person is living by the pure love of God, which is by God’s Holy Spirit, then they will be living the Truth of God and fulfilling the whole law of God. 1 Cor 16:14 - Do everything in love. NIV Rom 13:10 - Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. NIV Through Christ and having faith in Him, which is Truth, we can be fully filled with this pure love of God. The power to overcome all evil in us and around us is the power of God’s love, which He wants to impart into us. Eph 3:17-19 - And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love , may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge — that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. NIV To truly have the knowledge of God or know God, a person must be filled with the love of God first, because God is pure Love, and God’s Love is pure Truth. Anyone that is living by God pure love - will be fulfilling God’s Truth as well – even though they might not be able to comprehend and explain God’s Truth with their mouths. A person continuously living by the power of God’s pure love will show the world God’s Truth (Christ), even though they might not be given the gift of prophecy to proclaim God’s Truth with words. Heb 10:24 - And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. NIV

  4. This has been my stumbling block for a year now, and it just doesn't seem like I'm getting better. As a matter of fact I am getting worse. I do want to love my enemies, but my flesh is just against it. I don't hate (or want to) hate them, but because of so many bad experiences in life and fear of mental pain, anguish and depression, I just avoid. I've spent so many years of my life in mental sorrow and pain, that I just cleave unto any peace I get, and to my flesh going out of my way to be around my enemies is torment. Please pray for me. Please give me some advice.

Especially, those who've gone unnoticed for as long as She did. I've had many classes about the Holocaust. Not once, did I hear of Irene Sendler. You hear of Schindler and his famous List. But never her. She saved at least 2500 Jewish Children. The Nazis tortured her for this but she still lived. She despises the word heroism because she felt like some how there was more she could have done. And the paragraph at the end is super important if you do not read the article, read this part: "A few months before she died, she said: "After World War II, it seemed that humanity understood something, and nothing like that would happen again. Humanity has understood nothing. Religious, tribal, national wars continue. The world continues to be in a sea of blood." But she added: "The world can be better if there's love, tolerance and humility." I just want to ask you all, as Christians, to check yourselves today. Are you showing love, tolerance, humility? Honestly, how do you treat people who have different opinions than you? A different ethnicity than you? Who don't agree with your set of beliefs? People who may not care about God, or maybe they do but they certainly don't claim to have all the answers? Different religions? Do you judge them? Accuse them of things? Are you hateful and not even aware of it? Are you being like Jesus? I think Jesus would be full of love, tolerance and humility. I don't see a lot of that from Christians in my area, at the churches I've attended, and even sometimes, here. We can change the world with love. Isn't that what Jesus did? When it all boils down to it, Jesus didn't only change the world because of His love, he changed the world itself; the entire world was made different from His love. I just wonder what kind of changes we are making. Are they going to be positive ones, or negative ones. Are we helping to add to that Sea of Blood, Sendler mentioned?

  12. I was responding to a different thread, where a poster expressed a sort of disbelief I guess, that some beleivers want to somehow prove themselves to God, by going through the tribulation. I felt my response, was worth posting as a topic on it's own, so here it is: I would rather go through the tribulation than be raptured out ahead of time, but there is a condition to that desire: That it be according to God's will. Our savior is our example, submit to the will of God, even if it is unpleasant for a while. 1Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Oh to be able to do just that. I do not love pain of discomfort, in fact, I am a coward, but I also am not looking at this through fleshy eyes. I understand that nothing that can befall me in this life is worth worrying over: 16The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. 18For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. I do not see suffering for Jesus to be something to avoided at all costs, I consider it a privelege. Why would I think, that I should be excluded, even from suffering and or death, where so many prophets, apostles, and marthys in the last 2000 years up to this present day, have led the way, to the glory of God? Those of us who hope to escape unscathed, are those who have their eyes fixed on comfort in this present age, instead of taking Jesus words to heart: 10“Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11“Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. 12“Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Maybe we just want to refuse the extra blessings our Father wants to pour out on His children. I do not need to prove myself to God, He know what I am, and what I am not. I am however, willing to be spent for Him. 1Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Which is the greater act of worship? Singing a hymm in church, or presenting my body as living sacrifice. I can think of no greater act of worship, no greater act of love, than: 13“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. 14“You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15“No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. Those who are Jesus friends, are willing to die for Him, and we are called to that attitude. 24Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. 25“For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Over and over in the New Testament, we are told to expect trouble, and to persevere in trouble. Are those just words? Or do they actually mean something? Aslo we are told that perseverance in tribulation improves the church, why would I not welcome improvement in the church? What benefit is there in escapism? Nothing that I know of, that is not worldy, temporal. So, speaking for myself, if God wants me to suffer, I volunteer. People in the tribulation will need help, will need the Gospel. I received that gift freely from God, with nothing on my part to deserve it. I can never pay God back for that, but I can offer to be there for those in the tribulation, that God loves just as much as He loves me. I only wish that I would carry that conviction in everyday life. Every person I fail to tell the gospel to, is another person I have shown contempt for, by not thinking them worthy enough for me to disturb my personal comfort in the hope of saving them from an eternity of suffering. I too, amd fleshly, and I know that in me, I am not obedient enough to do well in the tribulation. I recall that when push came to shove, Peter was a bit of a coward. I also recall that Peter was later filled with the Spirit, to the result that he was anything but a coward. One of the most common phrases accompanying the phrase filled with the Spirit, is 'full of boldness'. I think if God can do that for Peter, he can also do so far any or even every one of us. If I were to find myself in the tribulation, I pray for God's grace to enable me to stand for what I beleive, to stand for Him. Who is with me?

  14. this is a praise topic. God proves His hand is involved by moving when all seems lost. in this, He shows His immeasurable love. He leaves not even a shadow of a doubt, and loves to operate within the realm of "impossibilities". He does not share His glory. let's share examples of how God wins through what seems as losing to mankind. biblical examples and/or personal testimonies are all welcome. me first: Christ Jesus as the suffering servant, loving and obedient Son of God, voluntarily gave His life for all the sins of humanity. through His apparent defeat, we are all victorious. through His death, we have life, and life in abundance. personally, when Christ found me, i was at my utter worst. i had lost all hope in this life and the one hereafter. when i was ready to give it all up, He reached out His hand to lift me up. i died that day, alright.. the Prince of Peace killed me with His perfect love, and that old man passed away.. He makes all things new... your turn!

  17. Sharing the Love of Christ with others is a very important thing to do. People are waiting and yearning for this, to receive the desired peace in their lives. We are to be encouraged as Catholics to do it, by praying to the Holy Spirit for guidance and courage. Only this way we might witness to a change in society, in politics, witnessing to better religious families. We are simply to be grateful for what we have, and not to keep the treasure to ourselves, but to give it to others, give them the Love of Christ. In Peace George Calleja - Malta
  18. When in each moment of our life we live by embracing the love of God, and giving this love to the people we meet during the day, it is a way that would lead us to Sainthood. Loving, loving, loving our neighbour is the way to become a Saint. Through our love which we receive from the Love of God, the people that we meet will also receive this love, and they will also pass on this love to others.
