steff, feel free to produce any records indicating his status as AWOL. this is blowing a whole lot of smoke. records were produced. just because the left is unsatisfied because they didn't give a day by day description of where he was and what he was doing doesn't mean he was AWOL. kerry's records don't show where he was every day of his lengthy four months either.

kerry tried to get out of serving. he couldn't. so he managed to fight tooth and nail to get purple hearts for scratches that didn't need more than a bandaid. by his own admission, they sent those medals over by the truckload so there were plenty to go around and he felt he deserved them. (had everyone recieved purple hearts for scratches, there wouldn't have been enough metal in the world to produce them all!) why did he do this? because he knew that three purples and you're out. during his command he committed crimes against humanity, and admitted to them. then he got his third scratch and home he went, leaving someone else to finish the job while he came home and dissed his fellow soldiers. he betrayed his own, not for telling the truth, but because he embellished the truth so darn freely. he even wrote a book that was published, which HE refuses to have reprinted because what he wrote would have a very negative impact upon his campaign. copies of that book are selling for unbelievable prices on ebay, and i'd be willing to bet i know who's buying them up.

and then he continued that betrayal and keeps on doing so today as is made apparent by his voting record.

bush ain't perfect by any means... nor does he claim to be. but i'd rather have a man who sticks to his guns leading this country than someone who turns his "guns" on his own.

What does Kerry stand for, other then whatever the opposite of the Bush policy is?

Seems to me that the only thing Kerry does well is bring negativity and pessimism to the American people. How many new jobs have been created this year by the Bush administration? How come you don't hear Kerry talking about the economy? Yeah, I know, he can twist that to make it look bad.

Which would you rather have in the White House? A Pessimist who does nothing but criticize what others do, or someone with some creativity and vision for this country that has a positive outlook on life?

Kerry has what my father refers to as "Optal Rectalitis". It's when you cross the optic nerve with the rectum and produce a crappy outlook on life.

WHAT IF THEY HAD BEEN SHOT DOWN??

So yesterday the 9/11 Commission played back the radio transmissions from the 9/11 hijackers.  They were disturbing, with one of the hijackers, believed to be Mohammed Atta, saying to passengers "Just stay quiet and you'll be O.K."  Of course, we all know what happened when that murderous Islamic terrorist crashed that plane full of innocent people into the World Trade Center.

Also presented was evidence that the government bureaucrats at the FAA then took forever to contact the military, and eventually reached someone who asked if it was a real emergency or an exercise.  By the time the F-16's were scrambled, it was too late.  Later, the president, through Vice President Dick Cheney, authorized shooting down planes that were headed for Washington, but the orders never made it to the pilots.  It's pretty sad when direct orders from the President of the United States aren't carried out.

Anyway, all of this begs the question:  What if they had been shot down?

What if the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania was shot down, the plane that crashed into the Pentagon, the two planes that crashed into the World Trade Center -- what if they had all been shot down, crashing harmlessly to the ground.  Can you imagine what would have happened?

Even though less that 300 lives would have been lost instead of almost 3,000,  people would have been in an uproar.  Democrats would have been calling for President Bush's resignation the next day.  The left would be calling Dick Cheney a murderer, and the victim's families would be holding press conferences.  The media would align against the president, saying that if only they had waited, maybe we could have talked to the terrorists.  Maybe we could have negotiated; found out why they were angry.  Surely they weren't going to crash those planes into buildings.  Impeachment proceedings would get underway.

An absurd idea?  Maybe...but think about all of this in terms of September 10th.  On September 11, the United States was not on a war footing, nobody anywhere could envision what happened.  All we can do is not let it happen again

Funny, I have proof here he didn't. Asking to get Purple Hearts for actually being wounded isn't a crime. Maybe one of them wasn't deserved, but then again he did volunteer didn't he? That is more than I can say for Cheney or GWB.

Time for a change I would think. It's funny, Kerry gets accused of Waffling, yet GWB has done as much waffling as Kerry, maybe more. Kerry at least defends his changes in opinions with why he changed.

I don't consider "Sticking to your guns" a good quality in a leader UNLESS he can also turn around and apoligize when he is wrong. GWB has never done this.

As for the document on what the Democrats would have done had the planes been shot down, that is just supposition. There is no fact there whatsoever. I honestly don't think anything could have been done about the planes at the WTC once they had taken off, but the Pentagon should have never happened, I'll agree with you there.

Aside from that however, I do not side with parties, I side with the person. I do not like Kerry's stand on Abortion, but being that he is personally opposed to it and just opposes the government from telling people what they can and can't do I can live with that. The president isn't going to be able to change attitudes on abortion, that has to be done at the grass roots level.

well maybe that's because he doesn't see that he was wrong regarding this war. neither do i. nor have i seen him waffle. furthermore, john kerry's letter means nothing. go read some of the evidence posted on the viet nam vets against kerry sites to see that this letter "requesting" service came AFTER he did everything he could to avoid and/or delay going in.

i don't agree with everything bush does. but when it comes to this war, he's doing a good job. and as a christian, i fully believe that God had a reason for allowing him to be the one in charge.

Okay, I had to jump in one this one. If Kerry wins it's because of an anti-Bush sentiment it certainly won't be on his charisma or flip flopping issues.
