This poor man was murdered in Northern Ireland for being of the wrong religion in the wrong place.it used to happen all the time now as the result of the "Peace Process" that has given political power to an albeitcynical coalition of Catholic and Protestant extremists it's less common. But it's still horrible that it happens at all. ket's hope there's no retaliation from the thugs on the other side.

Yes, they've been at this since my ancestors left there over three hundred years ago; I think there were different groups fighting but....same result.

Regardless of what their beliefs are or what they call themselves, this is just wrong. It's no different that what's going on in the Middle East; same play, different actors. How could anyone kill over a stupid game?

Grace to you,

Sadly, not much has or will change in that regard. It's been going on since the dawn of man and there is nothing new under the sun. Until Shiloh come. :whistling:

By the way, Muslims kill Christians and Jews all the time.

Peace,

Dave

That is horrible. :taped:

But in reading the article, I am wondering if it was about the game or about religion - or are the two related - or what? :whistling:

Yes, they do. And, now, it seems even Hindus want to kill those who believe differently. :whistling:

It always comes down to Protestant versus Catholic in Northern Ireland. I can't figure it out at all; this is where my people came from (and I'll be a lot of y'all's did too!) and when my ancestors got to these shores, they kept right on 'feuding' and killing each other until a couple of generations ago. They're almost as bad as the Shia and Sunnis in Iraq. The whole idea makes me crazy! :whistling:

Rangers is perceived as being a Protestant team and Celtic a Catholic one. It's about religion as a sign of cultural identity.
