-The "two witnesses" are actually "two groups" of people, instead of just 2 people. No where does it say "two men" in referencing them. These two witnesses are the Jews and Gentiles united in Christ as per Eph. 1-3. See in particular vs. 2:22.

- And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of the earth. If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to harm them must die. These men have power to shut up the sky so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying; and they have power to turn the waters into blood and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want. Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up from the Abyss will attack them, and overpower and kill them. Their bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified. For three and a half days men from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth. But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies beheld them....

If you had a direct vision from Jesus today, that the end would be coming tomorrow, what would you do diferently that you're not supposed to be doing already

I wouldn't be doing anything differently. I am walking daily with my Lord and standing firm on His word.

I would do nothing differently.

If, however...I was healthy and well, I'd do a lot more than I am. I'm rather limited in what I can do physically.

So I am resigned to prayer, bible study and fellowship online.

Hi Gary,

No, they are not forced to accept Jesus. That's not what I'm saying, but I'm glad you asked. They will be given a finally chance to lay down their lives, or they can take the mark. The wise virgins are already gone at this point (Rev.3:10) and these believers are thrown in with the unbelievers (Luke 12:46). They are now faced with making an even tougher choice, for they will be tested along with the unbelieving world. The only way to pass the test is by giving their heads.

Luke 12:41-51

Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?

50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

Take a careful look at verse 46. He is referring to believers here. If these were unbelievers, there would be no need to cast them in with the unbelievers because they would already be among them. These servants failed to do the will of the Master.

I'm so amazed by all of the believers today who think that they can just sit on their behinds and wait for Jesus to come and sweep them off their feet. These are the ones who heed their favorite parts of the Bible, but then they ignore the rest. I wouldn't call that a living sacrifice. These are the hearers only, not doers. They are deceiving themselves. Serving the Lord with their lips.

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Greetings Shadow,

-HOW do you splain that these TWO "anointed-ones"prophesy for 1,260 days & then are KILLED & then RESURRECTED after three & one half days & go up into heaven after THE LORD speaks to them & their emenies SEE them rise from being DEAD--killed by them same emenies??

How long have I been among thee and you still don't know me? ;)

I have responded to this particular chapter so many times, but I shall give you the benefit of the doubt my friend in Christ and try again to explain Rev. 11.

Nowhere in Ch 11 are there ONLY two men mentioned. Please check this out. It is a key in understanding this chapter. It speaks of TWO WITNESSES. Now if you were to do a study of both the OT and the NT you would find that 2 or 3 WITNESSES are required to attest to a certain thing, a promise, a covenant, a fact. A WITNESS can be an individual, a sandel, a group of people, a pile of rocks. THIS IS IMPORTANT!

So we see that the TWO WITNESSES are:

Revelation 11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

So where can we find references to TWO OLIVE TREES? How about Romans 11?

Romans 11:24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?

Wild olive branches represent Gentiles

Branches remaining on the "good olive tree" represent Israel

So what about CANDLESTICKS?

Revelation 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

Rev. 1-3 takes us right up to the time of the Beast waging war against the saints - what is called the "great tribulation". But I digress.

The CANDLESTICKS each represent a GROUP which in the above case were the various church bodies.

But at the time of Ch 11, the "organized church" has been incorporated into Babylon, but the TRUE SAINTS of God are "called out of it". Basically the "church" was composed of Gentiles, but read carefully the following verses:

Deut 4:26-31 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed. 27 And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you. 28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. 29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. 30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; 31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Do you see how this fits well with:

Romans 11:12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

It will be in days of tribulation, yes, even in the latter days, that the Jews' heart will be changed to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It will be the job of the saints in those days to preach to the Jews and see them saved:

Romans 11:30-31 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

Now if you flip to Eph 1-3 in your Bible, you will see that Christ, as a carpenter, is building God's "habitation" (Eph 2:22) on this earth and it will be composed of both Jew and Gentile:

Eph 2:11-16 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

Now if you have followed me so far, then it becomes quite apparent that the TWO WITNESSES in Rev. 11 are the TWO groups consisting of Jews and Gentiles which have become ONE in Christ. These are the TWO Candlesticks which stand ever before the Lord. It is THEY who "gives light unto this dark world".

AND SO, during those last 3 1/2 years the pariah's of this world - Jew and Gentile Christians will be scattered among all the world giving their testimony of Jesus Christ and will not have loved their lives, even unto death.

Then in vs. 13, we see what is left of the Christians in this world (a remnant) AFTER those Christians who will die, have died and been resurrected in THE FIRST RESURRECTION. The "remnant" will then be "caught up" at the 7th trumpet - the "last trump" and shall ever remain with the Lord.

Well, that is pretty much it in a nutshell. I pray that you give these things some prayerful thought and do not dismiss them without first being a good Berean.

As for RollinThunder's comments about my comming around to "his way" of thinking in the last several months - SORRY BRO, NO WAY. I have not changed and you can check all my prior posts to verify that.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

-DRUNKENNESS--GLUTTONY--THESE ARE THE THINGS WE ARE TO ESCAPE--NOT BE INVOLVED IN---

Gary: Ah, geez...you're raining on my parade man. I don't know if I can escape the gluttony thing.

You haven't seen us when we go out for BBQ...Can anyone say, "baby back ribs"?

I'm talking the whole rack of ribs, brother. Of course, Bill and I split the rack between us but we can put that thing away easy. Then there's the fresh made cold slaw. Add to that a baked potatoe and we're qualified as "gluttons".

I sure hope the Lord Jesus won't hold it against us. We do enjoy our BBQ...bigtime.

Today, I committed a cardinal sin: Homemade Cherry Pie (ala mode).

So, I may be in dire straights here since we might just be on the border of 'glutton'.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
