Why do this and is it deception? Perhaps they are in hiding or the witness protection program ... maybe they didn't like their name on line and wanted something different ... easier to change the identity online than it is in real life... I don't know, but I know on Worthy, that you can change your name, and your profile if you want, but you had better change your IP address, and your service provider, and a few other things as well. There are some things that we just don't talk about face to face at church, and the online anominity allows me to ask questions and for prayer about those things. Why do this and is it deception? I did it since I've been here but it was only because I just didn't LIKE my screen name and people always thought I was a man. I had to have a mod change it though. Worthy keeps a history of names used here by each member so, in that respect, there's no deception. On the other hand, most of us are using screen names because it just isn't a good idea to put your real name, address or whatever out there.
