I have a friend (very precious sister) whose 12 years old niece is not doing well. When she was one year old she had a heart transplant, but the meds she has to take to keep her body from rejecting it made her feel bad.

Sadly, she quit taking them while pretending she was. Now she is in very poor condition with her heart inflamed. It is a bleak situation.

My friend asked me if I knew of any books or videos about heaven for kids. I said I would pull on the resources available in Worthy Land and find some.

Thanks for your help everyone.

I read Heaven, by Randy Alcorn. In my opinion, it is one of the best I've read on the subject. Though I haven't read it, I see that he has one out for children.

Heaven for Kids. I don't know the age group either, but I would imagine it's suitable.

I am sorry for your friend and her niece. :emot-hug:

Thanks Traveller,

My friend looked at that one and will look again since they do have an audio version of it. But it appears there is a twin sister and a younger six year old who will be losing her older sister, so she really is hoping for something suitable for the younger one as well.

Still looking . . . .

Blindseeker...

This is such a difficult subject for a child that age (or any age) - I think it's such a tough age for a healthy kid - much less one who is facing such sobering circumstances. I have a friend who is a grief counselor and I will see if I can contact her and ask for some Christian resources in print and audio/video. My heart goes out to your friend and this family. God Bless.
