<Luke 21:25-26> "...sea and waves

This from BBC and Yahoo news today reminded me of Jesus' words at <Luke 21:25-26>:

An article i noticed back in the late 1980s had scientific measurement of wave-heights over time. That these wave-heights were increasing-that the ocean was becoming more turbulent. Mentioned this to a brother in Christ [named John] as a possible fulfillment of the above Scripture and he kind of scoffed, since his view of that <Luke 21:25-26> Scripture is that "sea and waves roaring" was meant to be taken as a figure of speech for turmoil of peoples and nations, and not literally, like i had. My understanding is that The Holy Bible does refer to that the way John was telling me-he was a second-year Bible student at that time. I am a literalist unless-to me-Scripture requires some figure of speech.

A few years later i saw something on television [was going through some intense spiritual attacks] that maybe was a vision? Don't know. But as best as i can recall it was TV news and showing the oceans and gigantic waves.

Guess one of the reasons I have posted this is that these "...the sea and the waves roaring..." wasn't caused by an earthquake/Tsunami [like the 9.3 Richter on December 26, 2004] nor by a hurricane like Katrina. Seemed to stand out to me.
