I have been talking with God this evening... if indeed it was God. I bound Satan and told him to get out... but here is something I'm wondering. My question is those of you who are born again charismatic/evangelicals.

I went to a service recently and when I was there.. I asked for them to pray for me to receive tounges. I felt as if a fire was burning in my spirit man from the bottom of my feet to the top of my knees and up my thighs. It would have consumed me if I did not resist. Remember this was in the spirit not my flesh.

Anyway.. for years now I saw people who would fall down when they had an "encounter" and such a meeting. I always thought it phony as if they were pretending.. but during this prayer meeting when I felt that rising (controlled) fire, I felt my knees giving way and I saw my self in a vision, what would happen if I let myself be consumed by it. That I too would have fell down as they did...

Well... what surprised me the most was also I was breathing very heavy, almost as if I was about to burst into tears. I felt emotionally overwhelmed by it. That I said no.. and that fire ceased in its raising and left me alone.

Today (several days after that experience)... I was seeking God in my home. I was seeking Him and seeking Him. Then I felt myself being overwhelmed with emotion. All I was doing was praying and seeking God. Nothing weird. I still don't speak tongues.. so it was normal English conversation with God. What was I saying? I was telling Him how much I wanted Him and how I want to be trained to be obedient as Christ was because I read about Hebrews 5:8 "Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered."... so I was asking Him (God) to help me to learn the same thing because I wanted to be well pleasing to Him, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

I just found my heart pounding faster and faster, I was being so overwhelmed by this spiritual prescence that came. I knew it wanted my heart and it was asking me, to die. Saying, Jesus died and was raised to life you will too. "And a seed which does not die, does not bear fruit."... every question I had this spirit answered it from the Bible... This spirit wanted my Heart. I dont know if it was the Devil who wanted my Heart or God.

I don't trust a spirit just because it does that because the Devil tested Jesus in the wilderness in the same way. So here is my question to you guys (sorry for being long winded)...

Did GOD really ask you to die? And did you feel your heart being faster and faster and you came to the point where you have surrendered your HEART to God? Was it truly God??? I need discernment..

You are learning discernment, between you and the Lord. No one else can tell you whether your experience was actually from the Lord. I was once where you are now, fresh out of a demonic experience and very very sensitive to the spirits around me. I couldn't tell which were bad and which were good alot of the time...but God brought me through all that. Now I don't seek the 'exciting' spiritual things. God is much more quiet and I have learned his voice, I have learned to simply be obediant and wait on Him at times, and at other times I know He is speaking to me but it isn't an audible voice anymore...it is more like confirmations...a thought placed in my mind and then confirmed with a word from a friend, or something like that.

One thing I often did back then was claim the Blood of Jesus over myself and my property, family, children. When you are confused Claim the Blood of Jesus. Say it out loud. And you will know God is there with you.

Blien...some people tend to hyper-ventilate with emotion and get deprived of oxygen, light-headed and imagine things.

When I was baptised in the Holy Spirit, I heard G-d speak directly to me, It felt like fire from the top of my head to my toes, tongues poured out and so did masses of praise and ecstatic rejoicing....and I wasn't even actively seeking for any of this.

I think if you look for G-d in all of it, and not for experiences, keep your heart pure, desire holiness, and don't get too intense, then G-d will give you the desires of your heart...read Acts and let faith arise. Enjoy and be remarkably blessed. Botz.

Thank you bro, I'll try that. I really appreciate you sharing that with me, I had many demonic experienced a couple of years ago and so I am sensitive to these kinds of things too. Never did it say anywhere in the Bible that fire came from the foot upward. Never did it say that your heart would beat 1000x faster and harder when someone was praying over you. After I posted this question I was on youtube.. and I dont even know how I got to this video but it said a LOT of great things to help me with this discernment issue. I recommend you go check it out.. search for a video called "Witches Unaware: Strange Fire (Part II)"

I can't post the link because of WB forum rules but I HIGHLY recommend you check it out. I belive you will agree with it 100%.. and if not maybe you can tell me why.. but there is nothing bad about that video it was right on.

Thanks Botz, when you experienced this fire, where did it start? From you head or you toes? Or was it just sudden and all consuming?

I was not seeking any experience I believe.. maybe I was, but to myself I believe I was not. I really was zealous for G-d and everyone there was speaking in tongues so I wanted it too. As I did for many years. Also I saw the preacher Derek Prince teach that tongues is the sign of the "seal" of the Holy Spirit.. and I belived him.

So.. I just want to be 100% filled with the Holy Spirit. It frustrates me that I cannot live a Holy Life to the up most when I know I can do it. I just want to be closer to G-d. That's all.

Edit: by the way I should mention. I'm not a crying man.. I haven't cried in probably over 10 years.. even if I wanted to. It's just impossible for me.

I agree with botz; some chruches emphesize experiences, so much that they actually disobey scripture. I went to a church many years ago, where you had almost everyone talking in tongues at the same time; it was like expected, or you weren't a Christian. Even though the scripture says that the gift of tongues is one of the signs of a believer. Paul also goes into explaining that everything has it's place. Tongues edifies oneself to God, I do it mostly in private..

He also stresses the fact that we should pray for interpretion of tongues, and prophecy over tongues, because this edifies the entire church.

1 Cor 14:4-5 (KJV)

4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

5 that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

Amen, I totally Agree.. it was so weird to hear everyone speaking tongues at the same time. It was the first time I've ever seen such a thing. And I read that chapter oddly enough when I got home.. so I was in amaze me that they were not following the word. So who is the final authority there I dont know... or maybe they did not know about this part in the Bible??? I dont know either.\

You know what.. the funny thing is. After I left that meeting feeling so great and as if I was in Heaven or something, the next day I feel ill. There was no cause, no reason why I should have been sick but I was. The very next day after that I am feeling totally healthy... so there was something weird about that whole experiance.

Yea I don't mean to sound mean or anything about any perticular denomnation, but some pentencostal churches stress this. but here's the thing some of them don't read the scripture for themselves and depend to much on the preacher. That's what happened to me. But once I finally begin the reading the scripture for myself, and quit taking the preachers word for everything, I left that church.

However to talk about what is normally termed (slain in the spirit) I had that happen just once, and never again. I saw myself floating in the clouds, and felt very light, to the point where I looked like those Nestea Ice tea commericals that were on in the 70's, remember those, where the people are falling backwards with a glass of tea in their hand. I was actually falling, and was caught by someone standing behind me.

I don't seek those kind of experiences anymore. Everyone once in a while, when the Holy Spirit cuddles with me ( that's what I call it) I feel him all around me like a big warm blanket, and sometimes the experience is over whelming but wonderful.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
