Is Jesus REALLY in me?

Here's another stupid question to add to all your lists.. :D

So, Life has been very stressful lately..I feel like Satan is working triple time on me..

Today I got into a heated argument with my son..(seems to be the norm these days tho) this time.. I said the F word not once but like 3 times.. I hate that word! It totally disgusts me.. It just came out and I didnt even realize it...or maybe I did .. but didnt care at the moment.. I have not been acting so much like a Chrisitan should lately.. I have not turned away from Jesus.. however I feel like I have slipped off of my path..

I could give a million and one excuses to try to justify it ...and blame it all on my son.. . but I know that I'm wrong.. I have asked God to forgive me .. and asked Jesus to ask God to forgive me etc..

so my question is ..

If the Holy Spirit is in me and leading me.. how can I act like this?

Do you think maybe he left? I know this may sound like a dumb question.. but I'm pretty serious in asking this.. I just don't feel right.. somethings not right..

Thanks..

Greetings JesusLovesU,

There are just so many questions that must be asked and answered to give you a definitive answer, but since your conscience was "pricked", I would say NO, God has not removed the Holy Spirit from you, but you HAVE grieved Him. So you may consider how this applies to you:

Ephesians 4:20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

Ephesians 4:21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Ephesians 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Ephesians 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

Ephesians 4:27 Neither give place to the devil.

Ephesians 4:28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Like I said, I have no idea of your situation and this speaks broadly and perhaps some of it may apply.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Hi Jesus Loves U!

Reading over your post, its evident that your not cold hearted or un-concerned spiritually about your relationship with God. As a christian, we have all faced difficulties at one time or another. We have the Spirit of the Living God in us, but we can also fail if we do not mind the things of the spirit. God has given us His promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us. God is a loving Father to His children. You made mention of your argument with your son. And of your asking for forgiveness from God for the things you said. As a child of God, you cleared things up with your Father. Yet you say something else still seems to be wrong. As a father to your son, did you ask for your sons forgiveness for the things you said to him? I dont know the circumstances surrounding you and your son's argument. But it sounds like it may be left unresolved.

Maybe an apology to the son for the words spoken out of anger, and a hug with the words, I love you son! would change the way you feel. I can almost guarantee it will. :D:rofl:

God bless you Kelli ... I know exactly how you feel, as I believe that we ALL have felt it at least at some time or another...and if we say that we haven't had bouts of what you've experienced, then we're not truly being honest with ourselves. I know that the Holy Spirit has not left you...for even the great Apostle Paul said these very profound words of himself ... 15 I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. 16 Now if I do what I do not want, I agree that the law is good. 17 So then it is no longer I that do it, but sin which dwells within me. 18 For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot do it. 19 For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do. 20 Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I that do it, but sin which dwells within me. 21 So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. 22 For I delight in the law of God, in my inmost self, 23 but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin which dwells in my members. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I of myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin. Romans 7:15-25

My advice ... take Jesus' advice ... 41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Matt 26:41

May our Lord give you peace, even when you fall...He will not forsake you!

Kelli,

Being a son of a father who used to treat me like that on a daily basis I'm proud of you for realizing that you are wrong. It takes a man and a man of God at that to see that you aren't the same person/ christian you used to be. God doesn't leave people. It's easy to get a little off track and I'm sure I dont have to tell you that. Get back to God before satan gets the best of you. You are at the point right now to where you are seeking truth and God see's that and is just waiting for you to call on him. The word of God is an awesome tool for him to speak to you. Ill pray for you and I hope others will do the same. God Bless

I thank you all for the scriptures and encouragment. and sharing your Godly wisdom with me... I do so appreciate these boards when I can't find an answer..or need to have some advice from people who do not know eihter of us...

You are all so smart and know alot more about God and being a Christian than I do.. I am learning tho... :)

I will take time to meditate on and study these scriptures ..

thank you, I don't feel like such a rotten person so much now..

and I need to clarify.. I"m a mom... not a dad.. so that probably makes it worse? and my son is 20 ... and it is a long story as to why things are so bad between us.. this bad realtionship between my son and I is my biggest trial right now, and where I tend to step out of line with God most..

anyway.. thank you again..

Have a blessed day in the Lord

Kelli :)

Let me add that when you ask for forgiveness for something and are sincerly sorry...God forgives you. Did you hear? God forgives you. He put's that sin as far as the east is from the west and remembers it no more. Alot of times Christians beat themselves up for the sin that they committed when in God's mind it is gone. Satan wants you to dwell on it to keep you from living a Spirit-filled, life of freedom that God intends for you! When the sin comes to your mind instead of beating yourself up over it just thank God for His forgiveness and His grace. You will see that Satan will leave you alone because he will know that his working on you will only put you in the presence of the Lord. God Bless!

Sweet Kelli, Jesus does forgive you, and NO, being a mom does not make it worse. We ALL have issues...we're human.

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8-9 (RSV)

You have done exactly what St. John says ... and you have confessed your sins (to others). God knows your heart...I will pray that you find peace in your forgiveness, and I'm sure those on here reading this will all pray for you as well...for we are all ONE BODY, the church.

Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects. James 5:16

From my experience as a mom and a Christian, as I realize the awful things that I've done that I now know is not pleasing to God, I pray much to Jesus to HELP ME to be the person He wants me to be. Self-mortification is essential...I know Jesus always loves me even when I do 'mess up', YET the more I seek His guidance every day and stay in His Word, stay in prayer, receive the Euchairst and confess my sins to Him, over time, He HAS changed me...it's not an overnight thing, but IF you really want to change, HE WILL help you to change. I'm living proof, and my own kids, husband, family and close friends ALL recognize it in me the change...oh, 'amazing grace'. Staying focused on Him, desiring to do His will, and actually NOT doing the very thing that I hated doing takes practice, patience and forgiving yourself as well. Eventually, change will happen. My 2 cents wroth. God bless you dear one Kelli. BTW, my oldest daughter's name is Kelly! :t2:

Yep :t2: Next time Satan reminds you of your past ? You remind him of his future.....he'll leave ya alone.

Kris is right on the mark. When you repent and are sincerely sorry, God will forgive you....He promised to....Daddy is GOOD :t2:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
