I'm pulling this from another thread. Tell me why you do or don't believe that Sunday Sabbath is the mark of the beast.

Sabbath itself is sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. You can choose to observe it on other days though if you like. This doesn't change when the Sabbath is, just when you choose to follow it.

Sunday Sabbath isn't an actual thing, so how can it be the mark of the beast?

Romans 14:5

One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.

I'm pulling this from another thread. Tell me why you do or don't believe that Sunday Sabbath is the mark of the beast.

I remember reading (maybe 20 years ago) a book on this very subject, in which the author (whose name I do not recall) claimed that observing Sunday as the Sabbath was in fact the 'mark of the beast' and warning Christians not to keep Sunday but to keep Saturday instead. So there are people out there who claim and believe this.

Me? I believe that if you (we, any of us) sincerely want to know what the Lord wants of us, if we seek Him with all our heart, the Holy Spirit will lead us in the way we should go - in His timing. And be sure to test the spirits, that they be of the Lord.

1 Because it is not

2 because there is absolutely no scripture anywhere that even alludes slightly to it

3 because it is probably the far fetched opinion of some person trying to make a buck from a book or something

4 because I have never heard one pastor, elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher, member of any congregation I have ever attended ever mention it

5 2 above mostly........

oh, and....

Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done.

Gen 2:3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.

Blessings

That sounds like a Seventh Day Adventist teaching.

The Bible was written before our Gregorian calender was written. We do not know the name of the day that God rested on. The Bible does says it was evening and then it was morning, the second day. It does not add "it was Monday". It simply references the end of a day. So the sabbath is what ever day you choose to rest. This is were legalism comes in to play.
