-To me, biblical tithing, is only the recognition that we should help support those who are doing the work of the Lord....and we should give to further His kingdom in other ways also.

-I BELIEVE IN "GIVING" to support the "Church"the work of the ministry---support evangelists--ANYTHING & ANYONE working for GOD'S KINGDOM must be

supported....That is "Those WE know that are working for GOD---not the liars--thieves--or herey-tickks{blood-suckers--that drain the very life's blood of widows}-

ALL I have ever said is that "DEMANDING A 10% "TITHE" of the flocks $MONEY$ is WRONG---IT IS "EXTORTION" by the "Priests"-----yet I have heard with my very-own-lill-ole EARS {IF YOU DON'T KEEP ALL OF GOD'S LAWS--INCLUDING THE LAW OF "TITHING" YOU ARE GOING TO HELL}!!!-above quote made BY a High-Profile Pastor of a High-Profile Church in Florida---who appears weekly on the network of "GREED-UNLIMITED"--{tbn}

From what I have read you have answered every question as I would have.

Malachi is talking to the priests and not the people. The priests were keeping the best for themselves and offering blind, lame and sick animals to God. God is telling the priests that they have stolen from Him and have caused the whole nation to sin because of their sin. God is telling the priests to take the tithe into the storehouse. Only the priests could take the tithe into the storehouse.

Tithe as Abraham did: In order to tithe as Abraham did we would have to have war and give God 10% of the bounty of war. Abraham was very rich but he did not give of his wealth, he gave of the bounty of war one time. That leaves out tithing the way Abraham did. The only way we can give to God as Abraham gave would be to wage war against Satan to win souls for God.

If we have money to go out to eat rather than eat at home and God wants us to give that money to someone else and we don't then we are not doing as God wants and being cheerful givers. We are pleasing ourselves and not God.

We are to give as God has put on our heart and to whom God has put on our heart. We are to give cheerfully. If we give an un-required 10% and our family has to do without food, then we are giving wrongly. If we only have twenty cents and can only give a penny then we have done as the Lord wants. We have determined in our heart what to give and what we can give cheerfully.

I don't know of anyone that can give 10% cheerfully if their children have to go without food or be naked. We are to give to those of our house and not let them do without. That does not mean if our child wants a Barbie doll because so and so has one that we should not give to God to buy our child a toy, etc. If our child or whoever needs a pair of shoes and the soles of their shoes are worn out then we are to buy them shoes as from God.

To always give God's money to a church is not right either. Is your brother or sister in need? I am talking siblings and our siblings in the Lord or a sinner in need who is not yet our brother or sister. If we give to unsaved persons how do we know that God won't touch their heart? God loves everyone the same and we would do well to remember that. If God tells us to give to an unsaved person there is a reason He wants us to do so.

Yes, I feel honored to be able to give to God what ever He wants and when He wants it. It doesn't always have to be money. If a person has no money (like people in a nursing home) then they can give of themselves. They can give an act of kindness or make a little gift for someone if they are able. If they can give nothing God is not going to send them to hell or accuse them of robbing from Him. There are many things we can give as giving to the Lord and that don

Quote from Yod:

But here is a quote from Jesus on the subject from Matthew 23:23

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier provisions of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others

You seem to be implying with your emphasis- that because Jesus said of Pharisees who were under the Old Covenant Law of Moses, "without neglecting the others"-  that we who have a new and better Covenant should also practice tithing.  Is that the point you were trying to make?  Just trying to clarify here...?

Jesus had to fulfill the law while on earth. He had to cross every tittle and dot every I. At the time Jesus said this He was living under the law. He could not say less because He had not died on the cross to set us free from legalism or the law, yet. And too, the people were being hypocrites because they were not showing mercy.

Also, Jesus knew that the tithe was not instated by tithing mint, dill and cummin. Those items were added later by priests after the tithe had been established according to Unger's Dictionary.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
