North Korea works on new missiles

The United States has determined that North Korea is working on new ballistic missile systems designed to deliver nuclear warheads and that it is testing the technology by proxy in Iran, said a Bush administration official. Having agreed to a self-imposed test ban, North Korea is sharing technology information with Iran, which carries out missile tests on North Korea's behalf, the administration official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The missile program is based on Russian technology and has been conducted with help from Russian scientists - help the United States thinks may be continuing, the official said.

Prophetic Perspective:

Again, President Bush's "Axis of Evil" can be clearly seen within growing global terrorism. The "evil" that lies at the heart of the worries and fears of geopoliticians are more and more looking like the same worries and fears that make up the end-time mix of terrors within Bible prophecy. North Korea and Iran are thought to be in cahoots with Russia, each an entity observably desiring to destroy or enslave other peoples. And don't be deceived: Russia presents every bit as great a threat as when they were the nucleus of the USSR. North Korea lies within the Asian realm east of the Euphrates, the region from which the "kings of the east" will rage toward Armageddon (Read Revelation chapters 9 and 16). Iran (at the center of ancient Persia) is scheduled to come against Israel, led, many prophecy teachers believe, by Russia and the future leader called "Gog" (Read Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39). Jesus said that if the time was not shortened (that is, if He didn't return when He will) all flesh on earth would perish. Considering the concern expressed within this news story, it is not unreasonable to believe nuclear weapons being prepared at present will be used in that most horrific time of human history perhaps about to break upon the world. Before that seven-year period of apocalyptic events -the wrath of God-begins, Jesus will say to His Church, "Come up hither" (Rev. 4:1). For if you are born again -have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior-- there is no reason to fear. God has promised, through the prophecy given by Paul the Apostle: "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do" (1 Thes. 5:9-11).
