Hello kinnear.

Can I make a genuine suggestion to you? I think you should start a new thread "why I don't believe in the rapture" and place it in the prophesy section. You can right down all your thoughts in it clearly stating your position and all the scriptures that support it.

If you think about it  is your duty to shine your light to your misguided brothers. So give them what you stand for and why you stand against what they stand for.

Please read carefully what's already been written.

I think I have clearly stated why I think we should dump the term "rapture". It is misleading and your own words, which I quoted, show how mis-leading it is. In two sentences you give two different definitions of it.

If you want to continue using a term which God saw fit never to use to name any future event, so be it.

Have you read the "Left Behind series of novels? Many well-meaning folks believe that they actually portray scenarios which are based on scripture. Those novels are flights of fancy far removed from scriptural truth. And they portray the false "rapture" so beloved by many, including yourself.

I actually do agree with the majority of what Herbert Armstrong taught. However, he did not teach British-Israelism though many do, in ignorance, label what he taught as B-I.

I see no major distinctions between what British-Israelism teaches and the teachings of Herbert Armstrong. Maybe you could help a few of us who remain "ignorant" about this, by demonstrating the difference between the two?

regarding "millenial saints",and their conjectured death:  do i understand you sir wisdom, to mean people who are saved during the millenial period?  of those who are alive at his appearing, as has been stated in I cor 15:51.......,and as is referred to in I john 3:2, we will be changed, and be like him.  also included are those asleep in CHRIST, but do you mean salvation during the millenium?

regarding what i just wrote, i will respond to myself:  evidently this fever with influenza b has disturbed my vision, and i did not realize that wisdom was gone.

regarding rapture:using the feasts that the FATHER gave to israel to outline his plan for us all, the feast of trumpets gives an allusion to a time when GOD'S people will be gathered in, until israel is returned to the LORD, ( Zech 12:10.....13:1..... )also isaiah 26:19, 20....alludes to a time dealing with resurrection, and GOD'S people being hidden until his wrath is poured out...... the word rapture does not appear in the original text, it is merely a concept some have perceived from the word as a whole.   i use the word allude because these things are not clear .  the word in the text means catching away.     respectfully      no fist fights.

The truth is, there is absolutely no difference between the teachings of Herbert W. Armstrong and British-Israelism.

Though Armstrong claimed this [british-Israelism] teaching to be his own (as received by a revelation from Christ), it had already been taught for some 50 years, most likely originating with John H. Allen. In Herbert's book, The United States and British Commonwealth in Prophecy, Armstrong plagiarizes Allen's book Judah's Sceptre and Joseph's Birthright, which falsely interprets prophecy, identifying the Anglo-Saxon race (specifically Britain and the United States) as the lost tribes of Israel.
