Thanks a bunch Attel60. I've heard a few people say there were actually 'devastated'. Would that describe you or can you expand on your feelings? I understand how that would make you a skeptic too. But what about the image of Santa Claus> Obviously not real. A god-like image that your parents probably told you was watching you and could perform those magical trips one night each year. I know you don't believe in that. Can you remember when you discoverd that he was a fabrication made up by adults? And what you felt at that moment and afterward in regards to the teaching of god like entities with similar qualities? I'm serious. Just as I suspect I would define God, soul, etc. in a different way than you would, I also define Santa a bit differently than the norm. For me Santa is the love and caring that parents show their children. I find that to be very real. Interesting. I also agree that parents love their children and probably want to pass on this belief although they know it's not true. How would you define God, soul etc? I don't ever remember believing in Santa. I remember my mom taking me to see my dad who dressed as Santa at city hall. I was 5 months old at the time. How did you react, what you felt, etc? Ok. I'll give a real answer now. I think it was a gradual realization as I got older. Also, I think I figured out the tooth fairy wasn't real a bit before and that made me a bit more skeptical. I think I was about 9 or 10 when I fully realized that Santa wasn't real. I don't remember being upset at all.

I was not devastated at all. I don't remember much, but I talked about that event with my mother yesterday and she told me hat I was quite amused. That day I realized that parents can teach nice stories which are not true. Therefore, I decided never to believe anybody teaching nice stories without the required evidence, anymore. So you consider someone dying in their sins and being cast into the Lake of Fire, "a nice story"?
