"Also I believe that the verse quoted from Hebrews talks about intentional sin. That is knowing that it's wrong, thinking about it all and still doing it. I don't believe that anyone will lose their Salvation over it but they will have to answer for it at the Judgement Seat Of Christ."

I have read where those that are saved will still face judgement for their works. What is at stake during this judgement, since it's not your salvation?

guess you stumped us all with that question steve! :t2:

Hi Steve,

A believer's deeds are judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ (Romans 14:10-12). This judgment does not determine salvation, but rather is when believers must give an account of their lives to Christ. We should not look at the Judgment Seat of Christ as God judging our sins, but rather as God rewarding us for our lives. Yes, we will have to give an account of our lives. Part of this is surely answering for the sins we committed. However, I do not think that is going to be the focus of the Judgment Seat of Christ.

At the Judgment Seat of Christ, believers are rewarded based on how faithfully they served Christ (1Corinthians 9:4-27; 2 Timothy 2:5). The things we will likely be judged on is how well we obeyed the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20), how victorious we were over sin (Romans 6:1-4), how well we controlled our tongue (James 3:1-9), etc. The Bible speaks of believers receiving crowns for different things based on how faithfully they served Christ (1 Corinthians 9:4-27; 2 Timothy 2:5). The various crowns are described in 2 Timothy 2:5; 2 Timothy 4:8; James 1:12; 1 Peter 5:4; Revelation 2:10.

Hope that helped ? Feel free to speak up if you still don't understand ok ?

God bless,

Bob

i may be wrong, but this is what i've heard, and it makes sense and seems biblical. what's at stake are our "riches" in heaven, our crowns (a few verses below, you may want to look them up to check out the context). we receive crowns for different things on earth, like for making disciples, and for being persecuted. i never understood the point of having riches in heaven, because i knew that just being directly in God's presence would be enough. then, i read:

Revelation 4

9Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, 10the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

11"You are worthy, our Lord and God,

to receive glory and honor and power,

for you created all things,

and by your will they were created

and have their being."

when we get to heaven, we will be able to present our crowns and riches at Jesus's feet as an offering! :t2:

1 Thessalonians 2:19

For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you?

1 Corinthians 9:25

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

2 Timothy 4:8

Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day

I do not believe Christians will be judged. You see the reason why christians will not be judged is because all are sins where placed on Jesus, he took are penalty our judgement on sin. Romans 8:1 "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Condemn means: "to declare to be reprehensible, wrong, or evil usually after weighing evidence and without reservation." We are not held responesable to the sins that we have done on earth. But there is no excape from sin, you still have to Obey God! because you may not be punished in heaven but you will be punished on earth. I believe God will take you home if you go into sin and do not come back to him, like a Parent takes a child home if they are bad.

It would be unjust for God to judge you for your sins because Jesus ALREADY paid the full penalty for those very sins, because if God judged you for those sins what was the point of Jesus dying for those sins?

Christians will indeed come before God's judgment seat (2 Cor 5.10). However, the Greek word for "judgment seat" in 2 Cor 5.10 is "bema" -- it is NOT the Great White Throne of judgment where unsaved people will be judged (Rev 20.11-15).

In Bible times, the "bema" was the name for the Judge's stand during marathon races. It was solely a place for bestowing REWARDS, and not punishment.

I hope this helps :t2:

That is very helpful. I will read the scripture you quoted for a better understanding.

Based upon this receiving of crowns as reward, here's a question. Is there different "levels" or "standing" in Heaven. Meaning, say you have 10 crowns and I have 9, is there a difference in where we stand in the eyes of Jesus?

It really doesn't matter Steve, we will just give our crowns back to Jesus. We will not be in competition in heaven. All that matters is Him, right? :t2::t2:

You ask some really awesome questions! :t2:

I don't believe so Steve....and we will not be jealous of who has more crowns anyway.....'cuz it's not gonna be about us......it's all about Him!

And I intend on giving every crown back to Jesus anyway....I don't deserve them - He does :il: I do love Him so :t2:

[10] The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

[11] Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

The more crowns you get, the more you'll have to cast at Jesus' feet. He is the one worthy. I just hope I am not empty-handed!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
