Hello Born2BFree.

Is there a teleological suspension of the ethical?

I can't understand the question please elucidate. I ask because I saw this question in the Predestination thread and was going to ask you there before it vanished.

Grace to you,

God is the fount of all morality. :t2:

Yet as we see? We do have Free will as to whether or not we choose to believe this. If not? Then we are already disconnected and lost being disassociated from God. Judged and cut off. Still and all we will give Glory to His Holy name by either Obedience or Disobedience. It is not relative.

Ask Lot. :t2: His wife is a salty lass. :x:

Peace,

Dave

Hello Dave.

Yet as we see?

Why the question mark?

Then we are already disconnected and lost being disassociated from God. Judged and cut off. Still and all we will give Glory to His Holy name by either Obedience or Disobedience.

Either way we will bring glory to God.

This disconnect, it's there from conception or when we refuse to believe?

This was a question posed by Soren Kierkegaard, a Danish philosopher of ethics...

The basic idea is the question of man's will as 'free' when God's will is soverign.

It appears to be a paradox.

Deut 30:

15"See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil. 16If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God[1] that I command you today, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his rules, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you in the land that you are entering to take possession of it. 17But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them, 18I declare to you today, that you shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess. 19I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them."

We have the free will to choose, just like God called Isreal to choose life.

Greetings fellow sojourners,

I pray you the peace, joy and the continued Love of the God of our Salvation :t2:

This is my testimony to the issue of freewill........

The freewill which we are given by God is limited to two choices, by our choice we will decide to either serve God or we will decide to serve Satan. At this point we surrender our will unto the will of the one we chose.

If we with a willing mind and a willing heart, choose God to serve, then we willingly surrender our will to the will of God, and dedicate our lives to doing the things of God (and God by the Holy Spirit strengthens, teaches, and guides us).

If we decide not to serve God then the only choice left is to become a servant (slave) of Satan, then you will have surrendered your will to the will of Satan, and you are permitting him to have dominion (control) over your life.

God warned the children from the beginning when he said:

Deuteronomy 30: 19

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.

Then God reaffirmed this warning in:

Romans 6: 12-16:

Let not sin therefore reign (rule) in your mortal (human) body, that ye should obey (serve) it in the lusts (desires) thereof.

Neither yield (surrender) ye your members as instruments (weapons) of unrighteousness unto sin (lust): but yield (surrender) yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead (born again), and your members as instruments (weapons) of righteousness unto God.

For sin shall not have dominion (control) over you: for ye are not under the (Leviticus) law, but under grace (the Omnipotent power of God working on your behalf).

What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield (surrender) yourselves servants (slaves) to obey (serve), his servants (slaves) ye are to whom ye obey (serve); whether of sin (lust) unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Upon this testimony I rest my case, closing by reminding everyone that the Holy Spirit will bare witness to your spirit, and the Lord will read the truth of your heart. Of this you can be sure.

Walking with all in the spirit of peace and love,

Your brethren in Christ,

Repent1...... . :t2:

Is there a teleological suspension of the ethical?

Soren Kierkegaard-

Is this question asking about the ethics of using a remote control on the TV?

Sorry, probably means theological, right?

The basic idea is the question of man's will as 'free' when God's will is soverign.

It appears to be a paradox.

Not really. Within our limitations we are free to do what we want, but not without results.

I can jump off a building. My choice. I will go down. Gravity. Does God want me to break my legs? No If I ignore my brain that is trying to warn me not to jump, I will go down. Yes Is this God's will? No Does God always get His way? No

(1 Tim 2:3 KJV) For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

(1 Tim 2:4 KJV) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

(2 Pet 3:9 KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

These verses clearly show that God is willing for all to be saved, not willing that any should perish, does He get His way, or do some perish?

(Mat 6:10 KJV) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

We are to pray for His will to be done on earth, because it isn't being done.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
