Munari and I have already told you the Catholic meaning of co-redeemer so you now know it doesn't mean that she is The Redeemer or that she can Redeem.

I suspect you're still confused but if not tell me why you believe that Catholics believe Mary is equal to Jesus.

No, actually I meant "put no HUMAN above any other human"... This would include praying to, or etc...

But of course, we are nowhere near the level of Christ!!

Astralis, I didn't say that you said or thought she was EQUAL to Jesus. I do see her being elevated by the RCC above where a human being is worthy of being elevated, which would make her an "idol".

The same for praying to/through saints, (humans)when that is strictly for of our Christ. Elevation above our heads of any human is idolatry. They are not worthy of adoration or praise, only Christ is worthy of our praise and adoration.

We are not to worship (idolize, elevate) movie stars, or tv stars, or evangelists, or saints or mary.  :thumb:

It seems a lot of our discussion has been actually over what we say is an idol. An idol in the Biblical sense is worshipping something as God or as a god that is not God. Hence, by this definition, the one that I and the RCC uses, praying to saints and Mary or elevating them is not idolatry because we are not saying they are God, equal to Him, or before Him.

I surely agree with In Him alone that we are not to idolize anyone above the Lord Jesus Christ.

Right, Roseanne! Putting anyone above anyone else is an abomination in the sight of God; an insult to our Redeemer, and a sin.

The ONLY one to be praised, adored, prayed through, or to, worshipped, thanked, every way you want to say it, is Jesus Christ. Through Him alone are we saved, and through Him alone we worship our God, and through Him alone is the doorway to Heaven.

Putting saints, Mary, etc. above ANY other human, on a level claiming they are "closer" to God, is just wrong. None are worthy--just Him Alone.We need no intercessors since His Holy and perfect sacrifice; the ones who have gone before us now sleep in Christ and cannot hear prayers. The heavenly Host are praising Him as we speak, as they have done since the beginning, when God created them as Heavenly Hosts.

Putting anything between ourselves and our Father except for Jesus Christ is balsphemous.
